Wednesday afternoon Lewis took the stand in his own defense. He said he never stabbed anyone. A fellow Bandido MC member, Wesley Mason, testified he stabbed Satterwhite and another member of the Cossacks...

An attorney for a Waco biker who was wounded in the May 17 Twin Peaks shootout asked a judge to dismiss the indictment against his client Monday or give him the earliest possible trial date. Judge Ralph Strother of Waco's 19th State District Court arraigned Cody Ledbetter, a Cossack, and Clifford Pearce, a Cossack pledge, who both pleaded not guilty to first-degree felony engaging in organized criminal activity charges, with the underlying offenses alleged to be murder and assault. Like Ledbetter, Pearce, also from Waco, was wounded in the shootout and attended Monday's hearing in a wheelchair. His attorney, Kurt...

In their call for a Grand Jury investigation of the actions of police at the Twin Peaks Restaurant on May 17, bikers seek clarification of the reported circumstances. In this report, filed five days later, on May 22, Officer Jeremy S. Finch makes reference to the location of Matthew Mark Smith, who was "aspirating" and died because of a gunshot to his torso after he and Officer Fischer handcuffed him in an area behind the building. He says it was close to a fence, but there is no diagram. He also says he got a sight picture on a Bandido...

The Baltimore FBI Office is involved in the investigation because of suspected ties to the workings of the Black Guerrilla Family gang. This comes at a time when the city police's clearance rate for homicide cases is 31 percent, about half of the national average. "This particular case does have a federal nexus. It's related to a BGF gang investigation, and we believe when it happened, where it happened, the time of day that (it happened), that someone out there knows what happened," said Scott Hinckley, with the Baltimore FBI office.

Images of bikers sitting on curbs waiting to be processed might have captivated the nation after the shootout at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas this May, but evidence in the resulting criminal case is a closely-guarded secret. Of the 177 men arrested in May, 106 were indicted by a grand jury. Now, in a very unusual move that appears to violate Texas state law, McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna has tried to keep evidence from reaching the public by making defendants' attorneys sign an agreement not to share it with the media. Citing the Michael Morton Act,...

Paul Looney, the Houston lawyer who is representing a Cossacks Motorcycle Club member named Cody Ledbetter against a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity, dared 19th State District Court Judge Ralph Strother to knock the chip off his shoulder yesterday. Simultaneously, Dane Schiller of the Houston Chronicle published an 830 word feature about the motion that claimed Looney was "making an offer that he says saves time and money and heads off the 'quagmire' of trying to prosecute at least 106 people charged in the case." Then Looney's office sent out a press release. Looney's thousand word motion argues...

A Texas lawyer posted the "cookie cutter" comment on Facebook and added, "The only evidence possibly presented would be that they were wearing club colors." The indicted motorcycle enthusiasts were part of the 177 bikers arrested after the Twin Peaks restaurant shootings in May. As reported by Breitbart Texas, the McLennan County grand jury took just nine hours on Tuesday to indict all 106 Twin Peaks bikers in cases presented to them during their session. The grand jury indicted all 106 for the crime of engaging in organized criminal activity under a Texas criminal statute relating to a "criminal street...

The McLennan County grand jury returned true bills accusing the 106 suspects of engaging in organized criminal activity, with the underlying offenses being murder and aggravated assault, District Attorney Abel Reyna said Tuesday night in Waco. The 12-person panel, summoned in a specially-called meeting, will assemble Tuesday morning, and prosecutors will begin presenting evidence from the Twin Peaks incident, the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said. CHICAGO — A 9-year-old Chicago boy who was fatally shot this week was “lured” from a park into an alley and executed because of his father’s alleged gang connections, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Thursday, in a crime he described as among the most “unfathomable” in his 35 years in policing. Tyshawn Lee, an elementary school student headed to his grandmother’s house, was shot in the head and back Monday in a neighborhood alley on the city’s South Side.

San Salvador (AFP) - Wearing a particular brand of sneakers or a certain haircut can be a fatal style decision in Guatemala, El Salvador or Honduras -- three Central American nations struggling with a vicious gang pandemic. Looks that would be ordinary elsewhere have been appropriated by the criminal gangs as their signs on the streets, where armed turf battles have made these countries some of the deadliest places in the world, outside of actual war zones. That means the 6.5 million youths aged 15-24 living in the so-called Northern Triangle formed by the three nations have to think twice...
