MILWAUKEE - An American soldier in Iraq who e-mailed a U.S. company to ask for a shipment of floor mats got a brusque reply: "We would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq." The response quickly circulated on the Internet and led to threats against the Muslim-owned business, including demands for a boycott. Bargain Suppliers, an online retailer, shut down its Web site Monday and fired the unidentified employee who sent the e-mail, television station WTMJ reported.
  • Discount Mats Back Online and Promoting its News Coverage

An Internet company based in West Allis is back online after a worker's e-mail to a US soldier serving in Iraq shut the site down early this year. And, not only is the company back online, but Discount-mats.com is also bragging on its website that it is the site seen on major news networks. The reference is presumably a reference to the news the site made after the company's e-mail to Sergeant Jason Hess circulated the world via the Internet. In January Sergeant Jason Hess sent the company an e-mail asking if it would ship mats to a special kind of address...

A Muslim "retailer" in WI insults one of our troops. When faced with public scrutiny and criticism as a result of his own actions, the Muslim is defiant, unapologetic, and untruthful - and lobs a few threats at his critics. Who is this guy - and what is he about?? It's a question worth asking - we'd be stupid not to. The MSM is surely not going to do it! Far too often, Americans would much rather be kept in the dark than risk offending a Muslim by asking about his background, his affiliations, his allegiances, and his intent. I,...

Web Site Kicks Sand in Faces of GIs in Iraq Asking for Mats to Ease Hardship of Sleeping on Ground January 22, 2007 An American GI assigned to one of the harshest posts in Iraq had a simple request last week for a Wisconsin mattress company: send some floor mats to help ease the hardship of sleeping on the cold, bug-infested ground. What he got, instead, was a swift kick from the company's Web site, which not only refused the request but added insult to injury with the admonition, "If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out...

A soldier based in Iraq got this response when inquiring as to whether or not the company ships overseas. He wanted to get the troops better gear to sleep on. To Whom it may concern: Do you ship to APO addresses? I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for who ships to APO first.
