No more! It's time to form a "Tea Party" to supplant the "me too, me too!" GOP. We tried getting behind a Northeastern "centrist" so as to oust the worst president in our history and we crashed and burned. Einstein said "insanity is doing something over and over and expecting different results" or words to that effect and he was right. Nixon, Ford, the Bush family, Bob Dole, McCain and now Romney. What's wrong with this picture? The Tea Party numbers in the tens of millions, at minimum. I don't remember any other independent movement in our country of patriots,...

DETROIT (WWJ) Among the new group of state lawmakers to emerge from Election Day on Tuesday is Brian Banks, who has been convicted eight times for felonies involving bad checks and credit card fraud. Banks, a Democrat and lifelong Detroiter, won a seat in Lansing as a state representative for the 1st District, representing the east side of Detroit, Harper Woods, and the tony Grosse Pointes. He won 68 percent of the vote to Republican Dan Schulte’s 32 percent. Banks, 35, was convicted eight times between 1998 and 2004 of writing bad checks and credit card fraud.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A wintry storm dropped snow on the U.S. Northeast on Wednesday and threatened to bring dangerous winds and flooding to a region still climbing out from the devastation of Superstorm Sandy. The nor'easter storm added misery to thousands of people whose homes were destroyed by Sandy, which killed 120 people when it smashed ashore on October 29 in the New York-New Jersey area, swallowing entire neighborhoods with rising seawater and blowing homes from their foundations.

Defense: The fruit of unilateral disarmament, appeasement and promised "flexibility" patrols our East Coast near one of our largest ballistic missile submarine bases. Defense cuts and Russian subs — a double whammy. 'On June 1 or a bit later, we will resume constant patrolling of the world's oceans by strategic nuclear submarines," Russian Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky said in February. Keeping that promise, a Russian Sierra-2 class nuclear attack submarine cruised within 200 miles of our East Coast on the eve of a U.S. presidential election in which defense spending and priorities were a key issue. This is the...

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will try to push through a change to Senate rules that would limit the GOP’s ability to filibuster bills. Speaking in the wake of Tuesday’s election, which boosted Senate Democrats’ numbers slightly, Mr. Reid said he won’t end filibusters altogether but that the rules need to change so that the minority party cannot use the legislative blocking tool as often. “I think that the rules have been abused and that we’re going to work to change them,” he told reporters. “Were not going to do away with the filibuster but we’re...

A newly re-elected President Barack Obama will push for higher taxes -- including a dividend-tax hike that will cause a substantial drop in stocks, Pimco's Bill Gross told CNBC Wednesday. Obama will get little time to enjoy his election victory Tuesday, as he will have to get to work quickly with Congress to avoid the nation's "fiscal cliff" of looming mandated tax increases and spending cuts. One likely remedy for revenue-raising will be to take the current dividend tax rate of 15 percent and hike it five to 10 percentage points, said Gross, co-CEO at the firm that runs the...

The day after the election, 8-employees of a Florida based company were individually called into the office of management and informed that their services would no longer be needed following the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. The owner and his company cannot be named for fear of legal hassles and thug reprisals, even though Florida is a "right-to-work-state". He had previously let it be known to trusted individuals outside the company, that if Barack Obama was re-elected, the healthcare laws and other anti-business policies the Obama admistration is pushing would force his company to down-size, and that his down-sizing would begin with...

There is an anti-Israel movement among the rank and file, and the party no longer appears to value self-reliance, charity and accountability. When members of the Democratic Party booed the inclusion of God and Jerusalem in their party platform this year, I thought of my parents. ... The immigrant family in which I grew up was, in the matter of politics, typical of the Jews of Boston in the 1930s and ’40s. Of the two major parties, the Democrats were in those days the more supportive of Jewish causes. Indeed, only liberal politicians campaigned in our underprivileged neighborhood. Boston’s Republicans,...

WATER CAME UP through Nikki Brunetti's toilets, through her shower and under her doors, slowly rising to unimaginable depths inside her Brigantine home last week...Since then, she's piled up lifelong possessions at her curb, shaken hands with Gov. Christie, and met President Obama, all in her hometown. The experience cast Christie in a new light for her and only reinforced her support for President Obama, she said.

Four years ago, the card carrying members of the liberal news media were overjoyed at the election of Barack Obama as President. In the process, they abandoned any pretext of fair and balanced reporting. After that initial investment of support, it has been difficult for the media to criticize the President or even make an objective analysis of his record. By and large, Barack Obama has received extremely favorable media coverage, even though his has not fulfilled many of his campaign promises and his policies have not turned around the weak economy or helped millions of Americans find good paying...

OMAHA — Nebraska Democrats say at least two voters at separate polling places in Omaha received ballots that had already been filled out for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and incumbent Republican Rep. Lee Terry. The state Democratic Party and campaign of Democratic 2nd District House candidate John Ewing have called a news conference for Tuesday afternoon to give more details about the reported incidents. Ewing campaign spokeswoman Rebekah Caruthers said one voter walking into Ewing's campaign office Tuesday morning was upset that parts of her ballot had already been filled out. Caruthers said the reported incidents happened at a...

We don’t know yet whether he will lose this election for the Democrats, but the Democrats have already lost much in their bet on Barack Obama, and will be paying for it for several years. So far, he has lost them their best chance in a generation to build a center-left coalition, lost them their chance to make government popular, and cost them also their most cherished illusions, which may be the worst blow of all. It is all very far from the 40-year liberal reign forecast by his more fervent admirers barely four years ago, and in this...

Blumenthal warns: [T]he initial results of the exit poll interviews have had frequent problems with non-response bias, a consistent discrepancy favoring the Democrats that has appeared to some degree in every presidential election since 1988. Usually the bias is small, but in 2004 it was just big enough to convince millions of Americans who saw the leaked results on the Internet that John Kerry would defeat George W. Bush. It didn't work out that way. The resulting uproar led the networks, beginning in 2006, to hold back the data from their news media clients in a sealed quarantine room on...

ORLANDO, Fla. – Declaring "we are going to get this done," an emotional Michelle Obama rallied a central Florida crowd Monday night, telling supporters on the eve of the election that it's "all on the line" Tuesday. "Your president is nowhere near satisfied," she said, making the pitch for a second term for her husband, President Barack Obama. The first lady has maintained a busy schedule visiting key swing states since the Democrats' national convention in Charlotte, N.C., in September. Here in an Orlando park, she made her final solo campaign appearance of the 2012 cycle. "Together, slowly but surely,...

We've already covered fraud in Pennsylvania and intimidation in Philadelphia. Now we have declarations of voting more than once. Multiple liberals have taken to Twitter to tell their followers that they have voted twice or more. In an election that is so close, fraud like this cannot be allowed. One man proudly declared that he's already voted in both Missouri and Kansas: Others were just happy to declare that they voted for Obama twice today.

During the second presidential debate of 2012, President Barack Obama said, “What I’m trying to do is get a broader conversation about how we reduce the violence generally. Part of it, is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced.” You can bet he meant what he said. Obama has a long history of holding anti-Second Amendment views, despite portraying himself as pro-hunter and reasonable about gun control. A second term spells trouble for law-abiding citizens wanting to exercise their right to keep and bear arms: Obama is strongly opposed to concealed carry, has supported gun owner licensing...
