New data from Princeton University shows that riots associated with the Black Lives Matter movement took place in 48 out of the 50 largest cities in the United States. The study found: In more than 93% of all demonstrations connected to the movement, demonstrators have not engaged in violence or destructive activity. Peaceful protests are reported in over 2,400 distinct locations around the country. A woman on Monday violently assaulted a 12-year-old boy over a Trump yard sign. The Denver Post reported that Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh said the woman was driving a moped when she spotted the boy on his bike and did a u-turn to confront him over the Trump sign. The liberal woman approached the boy and said something to the effect of “you want something to look at,” and used a closed fist to beat the boy in the back of the head and arms several times, and scratched him.

San Francisco continues to suffer business losses according to a KPIX report that states more than half of all of the city’s storefronts have closed down due to COVID-19. The report cites a new survey by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. “The survey showed only 46 percent of storefront businesses in San Francisco that were open at the beginning of the pandemic are still operating,” Jay Cheng, a spokesman of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, told KPIX. Cheng said that means 1,200 stores are open and 1,300 have closed.

Steuben County Legislator Steven Maio was arrested for patronizing a prostitute on August 12, according to New York State Police. Maio, a Democrat representing the City of Corning, was given an appearance ticket returnable on August 27th at 4:30 p.m. to the town of Hornellsville Court. 18 News first learned of the allegations through a viewer tip. 18 News reached out to Maio on Thursday morning, who referred us to his attorney, Chris Tunney, who declined to comment at this time.
