Tennessee Democrat rejected by his party delivers powerful speech condemning violent riots

Longtime Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker Rep. John DeBerry Jr. says people refusing to acknowledge the violent riots going on in America right now are fooling themselves, and warned his colleagues in a powerful floor speech this month that such behavior must be condemned and stopped.

His message is unusual coming from a Democratic officeholder in 2020, but DeBerry has never been afraid to take positions countering the party's platform. In fact, after 26 years in office, the Democratic Party recently booted the preacher out over his support of some conservative views. What are the details?

In his address, DeBerry recounted riding "on the back of the bus" and attending a segregated school during the Jim Crow era and noted that he was present for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s final speech in Memphis before the Civil Rights leader was assassinated.

He reminded the Tennessee House that Dr. King's method of protest was peaceful, and that after King was murdered and some people began rioting, angry and heartbroken civil rights protesters returned to peaceful demonstrations during a time that was much different than what protesters are living in today.

DeBerry recalled, "When the riots started and folks started burning stuff down, that's when my father took my arm and we left. We left because that was not what we were there for. That was not what Dr. King was there for. That was not what others who are famous in the civil rights days were there for."

Rep. DeBerry then pointed to Dr. King delivering his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in Washington, D.C, saying, "That man stood there and said that he wanted his children judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin... "

a man wearing a suit and tie: John DeBerry Jr.

Rep. John DeBerry, the longtime Memphis Democrat who was ousted from the party this spring, says he will file to run as an independent now that the legislature has amended election rules to allow him to do so.

Mr. DeBerry, your party couldn’t give a rat’s behind what you did 40 years ago. With them you have two choices: submit or be cancelled.

He is articulate, intelligent and respectful.

He will beat the #ComDem plotters in November.

May God Bless him and his family.

The GOP has no candidate for the seat. It was too late to get him on the balllot. This is the only path for him, The legislature did this so he could compete.

Kamala Harris Sponsored Bill to FORCE Schools To Let Male Athletes Compete In Girls’ Sports...

Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris sponsored a Senate bill that would force public schools to allow biologically male athletes who identify as transgender on girls’ sports teams. . In March 2019, Harris cosponsored the Equality Act, which would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 . Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls,..Also did this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3877890/posts

HERE’S HOW THEY TREAT CONSERVATIVE CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS WHO DONT SUPPORT STUFF LIKE THIS

And why there is no such thing as a Conservative Dem in Congress
Democrats weren’t happy with his votes against abortion and on being the only democrat to vote NO on allowing men to to call themselves a women and compete with women in college sports.
Those who live in Chicago already voted at their local public library. But in the reshaped 3rd Congressional district Daniel Lipinski lost because of redistricting. Which had previously included adjacent Chicago city wards to his 23rd in a district that dealt exclusively with city issues such as a subway L service and the Stevenson Expressway Wards which were reliable Dan’s father William O Lipinski supporters. But since most had areas with hispanic last names those areas were redistricted and assigned to Gutieriez’s district. Those results are posted below which actually tear up the concept of a neighborhood and pit people against each other by using division.

By us FReepers. This erroneous claim first appeared in a notoriously poorly-researched article over a dozen years ago by Frances Rice. The only time anyone could uncover a Republican vote was for 1956, but that was not unusual, as prominent Black Democrat Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. endorsed Eisenhower. He and his father supported JFK, LBJ (MLK attacked Goldwater as a “tool of Southern Racists”) and had he lived to November 1968, would’ve supported Humphrey. He believed in massive federal government intervention and policies and leading Blacks onto that Dem plantation, where they’ve been stuck for 6 decades (9 decades in the north).

His father, who carried on with his agenda, unapologetically supported nothing but Democrats onwards, even for Jimmy Carter, who had run a notorious race-baiting campaign for Governor in 1970.
