One of the big questions heading into the Democratic National Convention late last month was whether Hillary Clinton could rally Bernie Sanders supporters to her side. Before the convention, many Sanders supporters said they would support Clinton in a two-way matchup against Donald Trump, but when pollsters offered them third-party candidates as an option, they abandoned her. Then, on the first night of the convention, Sanders gave his big speech urging his voters to support Clinton, and we can now see that the convention did help persuade some Sanders voters to switch. But about a third of Sanders’s voters are...

Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, the organization that recently posted thousands of the Democratic Party's internal emails online, will speak via live stream at the Green Party national convention, party officials announced Friday. Assange is scheduled to speak at 11:45 a.m. Saturday over a live stream from the Embassy of Ecuador in London. He will speak on the third day of the progressive party's national convention at the University of Houston, before the party nominates its 2016 presidential nominee, widely expected to be Jill Stein. Assange is expected to be interviewed by 2004 Green Party presidential nominee David Cobb,...

Sen. Bernie Sanders rebuffed calls from the Green Party — and a loud minority of his delegates and supporters here — to abandon the Democratic Party and build a third force outside it. The Green Party, which has never again reached the heights of its 2000 performance under Ralph Nader, has held a series of Philadelphia events since the weekend aimed at persuading Sanders voters to make a "DemExit." Jill Stein, the party's likely nominee, has spoken even as rainstorms shut down meetings, repeatedly calling on Sanders to quit the Democrats and talk to her; Cornel West, a Sanders supporter...

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer sentenced Chow, 56, to two life terms in prison after a federal court jury in San Francisco found him guilty in January of conspiring to operate the Ghee Kung Tong as a racketeering enterprise and of ordering the murder of its previous leader, Allen Leung, in 2006. Chow was also convicted of conspiring to try to murder another rival, Jim Tat Kong, who was later shot to death in 2013, of five counts of dealing in stolen liquor and cigarettes, and of 154 counts of money-laundering. The Leung murder conviction carried a mandatory sentence of...

A California Democrat on Wednesday launched a change.org petition calling for Donald Trump to a undergo mental health evaluation. Rep. Karen Bass, who was a physician assistant and a clinical instructor prior to her political career, said the Republican presidential nominee may have narcissistic personality disorder, which could severely influence his actions as commander in chief. "Donald Trump is dangerous for our country. His impulsiveness and lack of control over his own emotions are of concern. It is our patriotic duty to raise the question of his mental stability to be the commander in chief and leader of the free...

"BUSTED: New York Times Caught Lying About @RealDonaldTrump’s Draft Record To Slime Him Post #KhizrKhan" The New York Times Carlos Slim’s blog got caught in a lie today about Donald Trump’s military service. The Times’ bloggers Steve Eder and David Phillips write: "Many men of Mr. Trump’s age were looking for ways to avoid the war, said Charles Freehof, a draft counselor at Brooklyn College at the time, noting that getting a letter from a physician was a particularly effective option. “We had very little trouble with people coming back saying, ‘They wouldn’t accept my doctor’s note,’” Mr. Freehof said....

On Tuesday, Trump’s campaign is dispatching vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence to the state for two public events, a tangible sign of Republicans’ concern that Arizona could be competitive this year — while local Democrats, thinking along the same lines, are intensely lobbying Hillary Clinton’s campaign and national Democratic groups for the resources to help make it happen. Prominent Arizona Democrats have been urging Bill Clinton to press the campaign to direct more money into the rapidly changing, Hispanic-heavy state, which he carried in 1996, the last time it went Democratic in a presidential election. They continued that push with officials...

The legal team for U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl on Monday asked to have the charges against the former prisoner of war dismissed, arguing comments made by Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain violated his due process rights. Bergdahl, 30, is facing a court-martial with a potential life sentence on charges of desertion and endangerment of U.S. troops after he walked away from his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and became a Taliban prisoner for five years. Defense attorneys argued in a motion filed on Monday that comments made by McCain and the committee's general counsel, Steve Barney, have...

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Nina Turner, the Democratic former state senator from Cleveland who has emerged as a rallying figure for Bernie Sanders' disappointed supporters, said she is considering an offer to run for vice president on the Green Party's national ticket. Massachusetts physician Jill Stein, the party's presumptive presidential nominee, reached out with the pitch, Turner told cleveland.com Sunday evening in a telephone interview. The Green Party opens its convention Thursday in Houston. Turner would stand for nomination there if she agrees to be Stein's running mate. Her decision is expected in the coming days.

Protesters at the Democratic National Convention grew even rowdier than on previous nights and a U.S. flag was lit on fire — and a protester attempting to dance on the burning flag ended up on fire. The graphic video can be seen below. Police and protesters attempted to treat the injuries and worked together to carry off the burned protester.

Another election, another pro-abortion “Catholic†on the democrat ticket. Hillary Clinton has named Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia as her vice-presidential pick, making this the fourth consecutive election to see a Catholic nominated to one of the top two spots by the democrats. Of course, like almost every other democrat who claims to be Catholic and aspires to any political office higher than deputy street cleaner, Kaine has removed his soul, slapped a “personally opposed†label on it, and sold it outright to Satan. Oh, that crosses the line does it? How dare I judge someone’s soul? You know...

CLOVEDALE (CBS SF) — The Mayor of Cloverdale hopes it’s just a misunderstanding, but the Bernie Sanders campaign appears to have left her small town with $23,000 in unpaid bills after it hosted their ‘A Future To Believe In’ rally last June.
