Gangs provide a support system, a feeling of “community”, and a sense of purpose for many young people. Unfortunately, most of these gangs use violence and crime to achieve their goals, and they are taking over communities all over America. If your community is not a gang-infested war zone yet, you should consider yourself to be very fortunate. If nothing is done about this, the violence and the crime that is fueled by these gangs will continue to spread, and eventually nearly every single community in the United States will be affected by it. Let’s take a closer look at...

Governments subsidize the behavior they want to see more of, and punish behavior they want to curtail. If liberals want to see people locking up their guns, then they should favor subsidizing this behavior. I'm providing the link for a gun safe comparison website, in case anyone wants to use it do come up with other ideas.

When the crime experts are baffled, I’m here to help. The Los Angeles Times reported last week that crime in the city of Los Angeles has dropped for the tenth straight year. As is often the case, criminologists are at pains to explain why. Note that there are always ready explanations when crime goes up. You simply point to whatever socioeconomic malady that happens to be occurring and blame it for any concurrent rise in the crime rate. Recession? Crime goes up. Housing slump? Ditto. Rise in unemployment? Uh huh. You get the idea. It all fits in nicely with...

FULL TITLE: Schoolboy, 12, who admitted 22 offences including sexual assault, theft and criminal damage is released without sentence because he has an IQ of just 58 A boy of 12 who carried out more than 20 criminal acts was today released without charge - because the courts have no legal way to deal with him. A judge heard the child's behaviour has 'deteriorated beyond control' but his low IQ means that he cannot properly understand the court process. The judge described the situation as the 'perfect storm' as there is no way that the court could accept a guilty...

Two Placer County teenage girls were arrested for allegedly using drugged milkshakes to knock out the parents of one of the girls so they could log on to the Internet, Rocklin police said. Internet access at the Rocklin home was routinely shut off at 10 p.m., said Lt. Lon Milka, a department spokesman. Milka said that on Friday evening, a 15-year-old girl – who had a 16-year-old friend from Roseville visiting – offered to pick up milkshakes from a local fast-food restaurant for her parents. The parents drank about a quarter of the milkshakes but didn't finish them, saying they...

Announcing Wednesday that he would send proposals on reducing gun violence in America to Congress, President Obama mentioned a number of sensible gun-control measures. But he also paid homage to the Washington conventional wisdom about the many and varied causes of this calamity — from mental health issues to school safety. His spokesman, Jay Carney, had said earlier that this is “a complex problem that will require a complex solution.” Gun control, Carney added, is far from the only answer. In fact, the problem is not complex, and the solution is blindingly obvious. People point to three sets of causes...

An on-air stunt involving an empty high-capacity gun magazine brandished by NBC "Meet the Press" host David Gregory last Sunday in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shootings has taken a bizarre twist. But it raises important issues about fairness and equality before the law. After being called out by viewers, the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that the incident is "under investigation" because it's illegal to even have such a device in one's possession in the District of Columbia, where the show was taped. The law in question is crystal clear: "No person in the District shall possess, sell,...
