During his post-election news conference, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was repeatedly pressed by CBS News reporter Nancy Cordes about “a new crop of conservatives coming into the House” who she implied Boehner would have trouble managing. The CBS reporter asked Boehner “so the hell no caucus as you’ve put it is getting bigger and some of them don’t think you’re conservative enough. How do you deal with them differently than you did in the last Congress?”(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Cordes began her questioning by listing off some new members of Congress “who have suggested among other things that women need to submit to...

You got to give the people, now Give the people what they want-- The O'Jays Now that Republicans have control of both houses of Congress, they are going to have to do better -- and do right by all Americans, not just their fringe conservative base. In the first days of the newly minted 112th Congress, after the 2010 midterms gave Republicans control of the House of Representatives, the American people were clamoring for action on jobs and the economy. What did the new Republican House give them? One of the first laws introduced was the No Taxpayer Funding for...

The president’s skill set didn’t match up well with an election that prized extremes over nuance. He paid the price. As his party lost seats in epic fashion Tuesday in both the House and Senate, the world's most famous Democrat sat on the sidelines—like a player ejected early from a championship game. But while there will be second-guessing, teeth-gnashing, and blame flying in the wake of the results, the plain truth is that President Obama was never the kind of man who could ride to his party's rescue in a midterm cycle like this. As he's made clear over the...

With House Democrats bracing for Election Day losses on Tuesday, Ralph Nader is calling on Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top party leaders to call it quits. The prominent consumer advocate and perennial presidential candidate says the failure of those leaders to win the House gavel over three straight election cycle should means it's time for a new crop of lawmakers to take control of the party. "Pelosi, Steny Hoyer and Steve Israel should now recognize the wisdom of baseball’s 'three strikes and you’re out' ... step down from their posts and invite fresh leadership who can save the...

The New York Times published these excellent visual representations of yesterday’s election results, including analyses based upon before and after polling. And they are pretty stunning. Results on the 35 Senate races: The Democrats won each seat they were expected to win, as did Republicans, including Louisiana, which will have a run-off on December 6th, as both candidates were under 50%. Of the 7 toss-up races, Republicans won 6, their only loss being in New Hampshire. Fifteen states held no Senate election. Net change of +7 for the Republicans. Results on the House races:

And with a solid control of congress and senate, the GOP needs to put an end to the President using Air-Force one for "Casual Affairs and Vacations". Being congress controls the purse, what they need to impose on the President is this. You want to use Air-Force One for fundraisers and partying with your buddies in Los Angeles, then You Pay For It! The President has millions of dollars, so why cant he pay for the fuel? What does it cost to fly the 747? $350,000 an hr? And who pays for it?

A new app, which allows users to conveniently report voter fraud, will be available for iOS and Android on November 1. The app, called VoteStand, is being launched by True the Vote, an anti-voter fraud group that was one of the groups unconstitutionally targeted by the Obama IRS. According to the VoteStand website, “the app uses a high level encryption, inside the app allowing information to get to the right people to make reporting voter fraud easily.”

This clip confirms the extent to which condescension on the left has replaced efforts to convince those skeptical of the medical community’s assessment of Ebola’s communicability of their error. In an appearance on CNN on Thursday, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) sought to assure the viewing audience that everyone (including, presumably, the Democratic governors of California, New Hampshire, and New York) is overreacting to the threat of Ebola. When probed by anchor Carol Costello as to why the president’s freshly appointed “Ebola Czar,” Ron Klain, has not come out publicly and assured the nation that there is no medical need to...

Oh, OK. You’re not too concerned about the upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 4. You don’t mind sitting this cycle out because you’ve convinced yourself that presidential elections are what matters the most. Think again. In addition to a slate of U.S. Senate races that could determine which party controls Congress for the next two years, there are dozens of statewide positions that voters will be able to cast a ballot for on Tuesday, and the individuals who are elected to those posts have the power to affect your life, at times more directly than the president or Congress. Here...

With the GOP in control of the Senate, Congress & Supreme Court, Obama will find himself in backed into a corner. Just like a cat cornering it's prey. If Obama refuses to read and make a decision on several urgent bills to help the economy, then the Senate/Congress will just have to vote on it alone and pass them. They actually need to institute a new legislation where as when a sitting President refuses to read/acknowledge a bill of utter most urgency, and decides to go GOLFING instead!, then Senate and Congress will pass the bill, "Going Around The Commander...
  • When GOP Takes Senate, How & When Will Obama Find Time To Read & Sign 350 Bills?

Come Mid-January, and hopefully we will have a 54-46 majority in the Senate, then what will Obama do when he has a stack of bills to read and sign over the next few weeks? You have to wonder, will Obama plan a three week vacation come mid/late January to avoid having to sign or veto all of those bills? Maybe spend all of February on fund-raisers? If he tries to stone-wall on this matter, what will congress and the senate do? Take this matter to the Supreme Court? Although "Golfing Weather" is ideal in Florida during the winter months!

Speaking at a breakfast sponsored by the Transport Workers Local 100 union in Harlem last week, Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) said that union organizing, raising the minimum wage, and unemployment compensation are "spiritual damn things” and he didn't know "where the hell" spiritual leaders were on shelter and homelessness. "The things we believe in are spiritual damn things. You can talk about the union organizing and raising the minimum wage and extensive unemployment compensation, but isn't that the same thing as talking about someone that's hungry, that's thirsty, that's naked, that's in prison. All of these things – I'm not...

A sillier moment than earlier this week for CNN’s Carol Costello, but perhaps just as revealing. In May, when new nutritional regulations on school lunches endorsed by Michelle Obama came under criticism for a number of reasons — including the fact that kids weren’t eating the meals any more — the CNN anchor led a sympathetic segment on the First Lady’s political efforts by claiming that “Mrs. Obama” had signed the bill into law (via James Nathaniel):(VIDEO-AT-LINK) That was Mrs. Obama back in 2010, when she signed the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act into law. (VIDEO-AT-LINK)On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Wolf,” host Wolf Blitzer sat down with Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) to ask her if she could confirm a Saturday report from The New York Times that claimed President Barack Obama was “seething” at administration officials for their handling of the Ebola response. After replaying a clip of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) calling for greater presidential leadership on the Ebola response, Blitzer asked Jackson Lee if she had been in touch with the White House. “You probably saw that story in The New York Times on Saturday saying the president was, quote, ‘seething’ because...

For all the analysis which correctly notes that associating with President Barack Obama is no relief for Democrats running in 2014, particularly those in red states, it is those Democratic politicians running as “Clinton Democrats” who are watching their campaigns implode. “Self-proclaimed Clinton Democrats are struggling this election cycle, and not even their powerful namesakes may be enough to save them,” The Hill reported on Sunday. “Both Bill and Hillary Clinton have tried to turn on their charms to help centrist Democrats in Kentucky and Arkansas. But as candidates in both states are slipping, help from the party’s preeminent power...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Democratic candidates who run from President Obama in red states where he is unpopular are making a big mistake. Their holding Obama at arm's length deprives voters of a clear choice at the ballot box. Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is a great candidate for the U.S. Senate and is running a solid campaign. But she made a mistake when she refused to answer the question from the Louisville Courier-Journal about which presidential candidate she voted for in 2012. Grimes should have said she voted for President Obama and then gone on to explain her policy differences with...

Congressional Democrats are siding with the Obama administration — and against a growing number of Americans — when it comes to a government mandated travel ban from Ebola hotspots in Africa. While 67 percent of Americans support the idea of a travel ban, many elected Democrats are decidedly against the idea. The Hill reports, “House Democrats are pushing back hard against proposals to institute a travel ban in the fight against the Ebola virus.” Texas Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee told The Hill, “I don’t think we gain anything by spending our time talking about quarantines [of entire countries]. We...

WATERVILLE, Maine — With three weeks remaining before the critical midterm congressional elections, the character of American politics for the next two years and for the presidential campaign that will begin in earnest next month is unusually uncertain. In fact, the contours of our national civic life are more undefined than they have been since the overtime election of 2000 — a period of ambiguity no one is eager to repeat. So, as the election nears, the American political landscape can be described as a combination of enthusiasm and ennui that defies clear definition. In fact, enthusiasm and ennui are...

Luis Gutierrez 2016? It could happen. Left-wing Latino activists are reportedly getting ready to launch a "Draft Gutierrez" movement to lure Rep. Gutierrez, the 10-term Democrat from Illinois who has been one of the most vocal proponents of massive amnesty legislation, into the presidential race if President Barack Obama does not go big enough on his executive amnesty. "I'm not running for president," Gutierrez told ChicagoBusiness.com. But the outlet noted that "he repeatedly declined to say whether he might change his mind if the Chicagoan who now holds the job, Barack Obama, fails to deliver on his promise to enact...
