An ongoing CBS4 voter fraud investigation has uncovered a dozen cases where Coloradans are suspected of voting twice. Previous CBS4 Investigations revealed ballots cast in the names of Coloradans who had been dead for months– sometimes years- before votes were cast in their names. In six of the new cases, voting records show the same people voting twice in Colorado elections. In another six cases, people are suspected of voting in Colorado and another state during the same election cycle. Lincoln Wilson, a registered Republican from Hale, in Northeast Colorado, is accused of voting in both Colorado and Kansas in...

A Colorado Mesa University professor who allowed his students to be recruited to stump for a presidential candidate in his class is under scrutiny. Students in Stan Heister’s International Business class were visited by a representative recruiting workers to promote Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign for president last month, according to students. Nikki Caravelli with the group Work for Progress and Fair Share Action, a political action committee, was invited by the professor to come speak to his class. On Sept. 22, Caravelli came to Heister’s class, said student Chris Cady. She came up to him and asked him if he...

A new Gazette poll shows Donald Trump dominating Hillary Clinton among El Paso County voters even as other recent surveys have the blunt-talking billionaire trailing the former first lady among voters statewide. Despite a campaign that has courted controversy almost from the start and weathered a rash of allegations about Trump's behavior toward women, the survey finds the Republican New York real estate mogul leading Democrat Clinton 50 percent to 32 percent in El Paso County in a two-way race. Trump bests Clinton 47 percent to 30 percent when Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party contender Jill Stein,...

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -- The Mesa County Elections Office said they received reports a canvasser for the Democratic party was offering to pick up ballots and turn them in for voters. The elections office said that while this is legal, it is a really bad idea – voters should never give their ballot to a stranger. Elections officials recommended that voters turn their ballots in themselves or have a trusted loved one do it. Local Democratic officials confirmed they do help voters turn ballots in. Local Republicans, however, said they drive people to the ballot drop-off locations, but never...

Frank Royal's Air Force took off at 1:38 p.m. A vintage aircraft clawed through the air followed by two chase planes, one carrying the 101-year-old pilot. The last plane in the formation brought a tear to Royal's eye. Its sleek lines still raise his pulse. He can hear the thrum of its twin engines without his hearing aids - World War II ingrained the 24-cylinder symphony permanently in his mind. He has good reason to remember the details. That very plane, a fully restored P-38 Lightning named White-33, was Royal's first love. And he flew over Colorado Springs to tell...

I attended a small GOP meeting in my local burg this AM to check out Darryl Glenn, the Colorado GOP candidate for U.S. Senate. Darryl has repeatedly flip-flopped on his support for Trump. I got to ask the first question, namely, "What's your stance on Trump?" Darryl's answer: I've already voted for him. His staff were covered with Trump/Pence stickers and they were available on his handouts table. Later on, Steve House, Colorado GOP Chairman, made several very interesting remarks: 1. Trump is within 2 points of Hillary in Colorado and the NBC,etc. polls are completely bogus. 2. Republican candidates...

According to the latest reports coming out of Colorado, marijuana is a major cause of homicides in the state, and the problem is only getting worse. "There is increased crime, sometimes violent crime, associated with legalization of marijuana," Brauchler said. "That's not what you'd expect. You'd expect the harder-core drugs." ... "If cash is the only way to acquire marijuana, crime follows cash," Brauchler said ... Brauchler believes the legalization of marijuana is partly to blame for the rise in crime. "It is easier for there to be black market in a legalized system than there was before," he said....
  • Early Colorado Vote

I've left the GOP and registered again as Independent voter. I voted Trump at the top of the ballot and voted Libertarian down the ballot in protest at the Republican Party's sabotage of our nominee and collusion to elect Hillary. Voted NO on major propositions, tax increases and to kick out all incumbent judges. Was a great feeling and a good early vote here this afternoon for me in my rural Colorado county.

Got my Colorado ballot today. The heading for the block containing presidential candidates is headed "Presidential Electors." I went down to the election office and asked them about it, pointing out that "elector" does not mean "candidate," and asking about the use of that term. They seemed puzzled and said that was the terminology passed to them by the CO Secretary of State.

Trump came to Grand Junction today. He gave a rousing campaign speech to several thousand Grand Junction citizens gathered at the West Star aviation hangar at Grand Junction regional airport. We showed up at about 1pm. The lines meandered around several blocks. According to organizers, there were 7000 registered for the event. Eventually, they had to shut the gates and turned several hundred away. Out on the tarmac, we watched up close as Trump Force One landed, and our next President emerged. Inside the hangar, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to building a wall, bringing jobs back, and halting immigration from...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co.(KXRM) – A traditional way of showing your support for presidential candidates may be bumper stickers or signs. One local man has encountered his share of challenges in his effort to show his support for Donald Trump. Chuck Corry has made it a habit to post signs on his property but none have caused such a stir as the Donald Trump / Pence sign. “I’m a Trump supporter,” Corry said. “But, I’m also pissed off.” Corry is frustrated because he’s had to put up 5 signs over the last three weeks in his front yard. Now, he’s taken...

Thou shall not kill would seem to be the most straightforward of Catholic teachings. New York state legalized abortion in 1970. Soon after, Catholics started leaving the Democratic Party for pro-life Republicans. Democrats could see the writing on the wall. They weren't happy. Society was changing. Roe v. Wade became the national law of the land in 1973. Democrats wanted in on the change and the church on their side as well. Democrats had toiled for years mining the ethnic Catholic vote. They didn't want to give up their mother lode. This moral migration of Catholics between the Democrats and...

DENVER -- Chris Atkins leads a life that might be stranger than any episode of "The Maury Povich Show." The daytime talk show host has made a living out of revealing DNA test results to squabbling couples, but Atkins already knows DNA has proven he’s not the father of his ex-wife’s daughter, who was 2 years old when the couple divorced. But since the truth didn’t come out until the girl was 11 and his name remains on the birth certificate, he is legally obligated to keep paying child support until she turns 19, reports KDVR. “It doesn’t make any...

DENVER – The U.S. Attorney's Office in Colorado has declined to prosecute an employee of the Environmental Protection Agency over a massive mine wastewater spill that fouled rivers in three states, federal investigators said Wednesday. The EPA's Office of Inspector General disclosed that it had found evidence the unnamed employee may have violated the Clean Water Act and given false statements. However, office spokesman Jeffrey Lagda says federal prosecutors declined to pursue the case. He says that in lieu of prosecution, the case will be sent to senior EPA management for review.
