Ces images, pour le moins spectaculaires, ont été réalisées par la société de production Colibri

Georgia middle schooler CJ Pearson just knew President Obama couldn’t help but try to take advantage of the deaths of 9 church-goers in South Carolina. According to Pearson, Obama “politicized this entire thing.” “He took to the podium and talked about how this couldn’t have happened –or shouldn’t have happened — if we would have had gun control … That things like this only happen because people carry guns,” Pearson said. He grew emotional recalling the lives that were cut short by a gunmen who sat with them for an hour, only to kill them. “And you’re (Obama) going to...

Every time an American community suffers a tragedy involving a firearm, the anti-gun crowd unveils itself in full tribal dress. Wednesday night, a 21-year-old sandy blonde-haired white man with blue jeans and Timberland boots walked into a historically black church in Charleston, S.C. and killed 9 people. That’s a horrible, murderous act, made worse by the fact that the man is still at large. The New York Times reported S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s statement about the tragedy. “While we do not yet know all of the details, we do know that we’ll never understand what motivates anyone to enter one...

Racial motive expressed? I don’t even know what to say in the course of presenting news like this. I suppose we just wait to learn what - if anything - might have been the motivation of the 21-year-old mass murderer. We don’t know if he knew anyone there or had any sort of connection to the church or the pastor. We don’t even know who he is, at least not for sure, as he remains at large. We just know he walked in and opened fire, and now nine people are dead, including the pastor, who was also a South...

I can't post the tweet images in here, so you'd have to find those at the site. Prayers. "I hate that this is where we are in this country. I hate that a reprehensible, stomach-turning act like the Charleston shooting ever takes place. I hate the vitriolic responses to it on twitter. And I really, really hate that I have to write something, anything other than: My prayers are with the victim’s families, and America this morning. I also really hate that that statement in and of itself will generate controversy. There was a time in this country where we...

...churches should not be afraid to tackle controversial issues such as homosexuality, sexual impurity, and divorce. Where else but in church will young Christians hear Biblical truth and be prepared to handle the most pressing social and cultural issues of our age? Public school? Television? College? To paraphrase Flannery O’Connor, the church must push back as hard as the age that pushes against it.

For more than 100 years, an order of Capuchin Franciscan priests has prayed and preached in the Kanawha Valley, celebrating baptisms and marriages, comforting the bereaved, ministering to the needs of generation after generation of Catholics, always based in a small church on the West Side of Charleston. As of today, the Capuchin presence on the West Side, in Charleston, in the Kanawha Valley and in the state of West Virginia, is no more. The order’s provincial minister, based in Pittsburgh, made the decision to reassign the two remaining Capuchin priests in the state after concluding the community here could...

One of the pillars of the Evangelical marriage to the Republican Party is the Pro-Life movement. By far, this movement is one of the most passionate and mobilized groups in America. But I wonder have they ever taken a moment to ask themselves the question of why, according to the Guttmacher Institute, 65 percent of all abortions are performed on Christian patients (37 percent Protestant and 28 percent Catholic). Sometimes I wonder if they even know this statistic. And if they do, how do they look at themselves in the mirror at night after they have gone to college campuses...

A 1,500-year-old church has been discovered at a Byzantine period rest stop on the road connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, archaeologists announced today (June 10). The ancient road station and church, uncovered during a highway construction project, sit next to a seep spring called 'Ain Naqa'a, which is on the outskirts of Moshav Bet Neqofa, a settlement in Jerusalem. Along the old road, which was likely paved in the Roman period, "other settlements and road stations have previously been discovered that served those traveling the route in ancient times," Annette Nagar, the director of the excavation on behalf of the...
