Black gun rights advocate challenges Obama’s call after church shooting
washingtontimes ^ | June 21, 2015 | Valerie Richardson

A former Marine, Christian pastor and author of “Black Man with a Gun,” Mr. Blanchard wants more black people to protect themselves by embracing the Second Amendment and learning to use firearms, instead of reflexively siding with the gun control movement.

Mr. Blanchard’s response to Wednesday’s massacre is a sharp contrast to those of other black leaders, starting with Mr. Obama.

If you love Obama, disarm yourself and embrace Obama’s Sons when they come to rob, loot and kill.

Exactly as it should be.

Americans have the right to defend themselves, regardless of the color of their skin, and no law can take that away.

All they have to do is take responsibility for themselves and use that right.

I couldn’t agree more. If just one prayer meeting attendant at the Mother Emanual Church had been carrying, there would’ve been a far different outcome than nine dead innocent people.

I’ve been Internet ‘friends’ with Kenn for a long time. He’s good to go. I posted an article either by him or about him here several years ago, and sent him an email with the link. So he’s also a FReeper.

Most blacks believe the same.

There isn’t a prevailing image of black neighborhoods being gun free zones for a reason.

If you’re going to be the shepherd of a flock — the shepherd had a really big stick. And the shepherd protected the sheep from the wolf and the bear. And the sheep felt safe because the shepherd was armed.”

Somehow, he said, “we’ve gotten away from that. We make it seem as if the gun is an evil talisman when it’s not. It’s just another tool.” EXCELLENT point!

“Biblically, it’s kind of out of context, too,” he said. “If you’re going to be the shepherd of a flock — the shepherd had a really big stick. And the shepherd protected the sheep from the wolf and the bear. And the sheep felt safe because the shepherd was armed.” Somehow, he said, “we’ve gotten away from that. Pastor Kenn Blanchard has my vote.

As a white man, I agree with him.

As a gray man, my opinion is irrelevant. I'll check back later if my color changes.

I’ve never met a fellow Marine who didn’t like and use guns. Every Marine is a rifleman and that doesn’t go away. Look up the rifleman’s creed. It was literally beat into our heads...
