I just took a look at their front page, loathe as I am to boosting their ad. revenues. It looks quite unusually dismal, I must say. I wish I'd written down some of their headlines, but suffice it to say, they're not crowing.

I'm given some thought to starting a Minnesota PING list. Right now, I envision it would be a fairly moderate PING list - not in politics, but in the number of PINGs you're likely to receive. If you're interested in being on the Minnesota PING List, let me know.

It's been a long time coming, but Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 is finally here. As Microsoft starts to collect feedback from a broad spectrum of users in one of its largest test programs ever, the company will soon be in a position to decide whether the product is solid enough to meet announced ship dates of November for enterprise customers and January 2007 for consumers. Earlier this week, I started using Vista build 5568, a version that Microsoft says should be virtually indistinguishable from the actual RC1 code. Since recent Vista revisions have been focusing on improving performance, compatibility,...
  • Almost fired for listening to Sean Hannity

Guys this is going to take the cake. About 10 days ago at work one of my coworkers was typing away listening to Sean on his radio. (we get it on tape delay) The supervisor walked by and noted the station that showed up on the digital display. He berated him for listening to Sean because he is an evil conservative whack job and it offends people around him. Note he had headphones on so nobody could hear his radio. And in an office where the leader has a radio on at all times low that we can hear but...

I read recently that Citgo (I think) is basically Iranian owned... or perhaps Venezuelan. I know that other gas stations are owned or supplied by other countries. Are there gas stations that I can gas up at with an eased conscience? That are supplied mostly by domestic sources even!!! Anybody knowledgeable on this subject? Of course there is.
  • Mickelson call himself 'an idiot'

    06/19/2006 9:49:13 AM PDT · by gridlock · 47 replies · 734+ views
MAMARONECK, New York -- Phil Mickelson's bid for a third consecutive major ended with a shocking collapse when he bungled his way to a double bogey on the final hole to give the U.S. Open to Geoff Ogilvy. Mickelson tied for second after losing a two-shot lead on the final three holes. Mickelson was on the verge of joining Tiger Woods as the only players over the last 50 years with three straight majors. Mickelson said losing this one "hurts any more than any tournament because I had it won.'' But the old Phil took over. He was wild off...

BEHIND nearly every good bar fight is a beautiful woman - and the epic nightclub clash between Axl Rose and Tommy Hilfiger is no exception. While some say Hilfiger popped Rose in the eye after the Guns N' Roses frontman moved Hilfiger's girlfriend's drink at The Plumm last Thursday night, Page Six has learned that the combatants have been at odds since Rose started dating Diane O'Connor, the ex-wife of Hilfiger's adopted brother, denim designer Michael H. One source even went so far as to claim that the Hilfiger brothers had made a "pact" to pummel Rose on sight. While...

/sarcasm... (but I got you to look) I saw this thread on DU and felt compelled to respond to it, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x1154762#1155046 but since I dont have an account there, my response is posted here. I am confident they will find it as my challenge earlier in the week was posted there with a few minutes. The following is the DUmmie's original post: Yesterday I heard Sean Hannity ask this question. 'Why don't people see that the economy is doing well?' Well, here's why Sean. Then Under Clinton (before YOUR President) the economy was thriving and most people were making lots...

(PADUCAH, Ky.) -- A teacher in western Kentucky has been suspended and will not have her contract renewed after administrators found out she appeared in an adult movie more than a decade ago. Tericka Dye, a science teacher and volleyball coach at Reidland High School in Paducah for the last two years, was suspended Wednesday and told she would not return to the classroom in the fall. "Your presence in the classroom would cause a disruption to the educational process," McCracken County Schools Superintendent Tim Heller wrote in a letter to Dye. "I fear there would be less than a...

  • Small Donor and Corporate Campaign Contributions by Party?

I've always read and heard that Republicans get more campaign contributions from individual contributors and small donors than Democrats, and Democrats get more large contributions from corporations and fat cat donors than Republicans, but now I'm looking for sources. I've searched Free Republic and the internet and so far haven't found anything definitive. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! Jesse

The producers of "Get Rich or Die Tryin" are trying to figure out why fans are not flocking to their movie. Is it price of the ticket? Is it the publicity of a person getting shot at a showing? Is it because 50cent really has now fans? I have the answer. Teens are finally embracing parental values and this movie offers none of it! Thank you.
  • Why we should hate Perot more each day

Just my take We should hate Perot more each day. As we all know Bush would have won in 1992 had it not been for Perot. Aside from the horrible presidency of Clinton, he reshaped politics. Clintons win allowed the Democrats to solidify some blue states allowed the Dems to make some states blue. For example NJ, CA, IL, WA, OR were all Republican states until Clinton. Even areas in NY like Westchester and Long Island were all Republican but have become dem because of Clinton. Clintons presidency took away some states from us and we can all point our...

Let's avoid kidding ourselves, shall we? Democrats aren't going to defeat Miers. They know the only liberal under consideration was Alberto Gonzales, the guy they used to argue that maybe Hussein wasn't so bad, as if a few humiliating photographs compared to the physical torture, starvation or execution of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi dissidents. (Man, those Democrats must've been scarred earlier in their lives. Memo to self: Don't join a fraternity that allows hazing but is "tolerant" of deviant sexual practices.) No, Harriet Miers was the best they could hope for. Sure they're afraid she MIGHT be conservative --...
