Can’t a guy take a vacation without the nay-sayin ninnies of negativity taking over this place? As the self-appointed optimist of this forum, I must say that I am more than a little P-Od over what I have been reading coming from the scared keyboards of some of you folks. You act as if someone stole your little Republican cookies and ate them in front of you. Look, I know it’s not the best of times for Conservatives if you are concerned about spending or the protection of the borders. However, it escapes me why it seems impossible for some...

I’ve just received a credible tip from an LGF reader that an America West flight out of New York was fired upon by a surface to air missile yesterday, and that the pilot and passengers witnessed it and are now being questioned by the FAA and FBI. That’s the extent of the information I currently have, and please note: right now this is completely unverified.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Comedian Tommy Chong has spent almost three decades wringing laughs from cigar-sized joints and smoke-filled vans but now a nine-month jail term has turned him serious and revitalized his flagging career. Promoting his documentary "a/k/a Tommy Chong" at the Toronto International Film Festival, he hopes the film will expose what he says is the U.S. government's heavy-handed dealing with marijuana offenders in the post-September 11 era. "The United States is under martial law, it's under dictatorship," the 67-year-old father of four said in an interview. The film chronicles the Canadian-born comedian's 2003 arrest and imprisonment for selling...

Mr. West should have stayed in college. At very least he may have learned about dignity, discernment and solemnity. Kanye is an opportunistic 2-bit punk. I laughed out loud when the little boy began to tremble as he struggled to put together one coherent sentence during his Red Cross rant. Leave the politics to the politicians. Entertainers need to know that when they wander off track they risk offending half of their audience. The thinking half anyway.

I just ordered a tshirt that is anti Che Guevara. Just tired of watching all the twits wearing them totally clueless. I thought I better brush up on my facts before I wear it. Looking for suggestions on a good book on the subject. Note: Hope I did this right. It's my first vanity.

I have a business relationship with a company that sells fuel to farmers. I spoke today with a person from that company who said that they were trying to buy more unleaded fuel from their source and could not. Their source told them they were out of fuel and were not expecting to have more anytime soon, due to hurricane. I have not stated where this is because I would prefer not to be the one to start a panic. However, it is a "MidSouth" state.

Until recently, LaChania Govan's complaints about Comcast's service seemed relatively tame. The 25-year-old Elgin mother of two said she was put on hold, disconnected, even transferred to the Spanish language line. But after persistent problems with her digital recording system forced her to make dozens of calls to the cable company in July, her August bill came with a change really worth complaining about: In place of her name were the words "Bitch Dog."

On O'Reilly tonight, they wree talking about the BTK killer. He was described as a sociopath, someone who has no concern for anyone but himself, a person capable of doing harm with no remorse at all. By that standards, aren't most politicians sociopaths?

mods-If this isn't in the right place please move or cut it. Why do most Americans hate soccer? It's not just that they don't like it. They are actively against it. Soccer takes more skill and endurance than the other sports. In middle and high school you take a beating.(Elbowed, tripped, kicked, tackled- All done fairly or behind the ref's back and without body armor) There are many tactics decided by the players(unlike football and baseball). It's a sport many different people can do. Not just people who are huge or work out daily at the gym. Fast people, skilled...

Where the Hell is the outrage in the MSM about the scandal rocking Air America? I know, I know, no liberal bias, but c'mon! The dolts at the Wash. Post and NY Slimes promoted this fiasco for weeks before they started, and now...........I just send 6 e-mails to the publisher and president of the Slimes, I suggest you do too.

BILL Murray was ambushed the other day by a disgruntled former colleague at a VIP screening of "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou." At a Q&A session with director Wes Anderson, Anjelica Huston, Willem Dafoe and some of the rest of the cast at the Hollywood event, one man announced, "I am a cameraman, and I've worked with all the actors onstage. Anjelica, you're wonderful. Willem — you're great. But, Bill — you are a bastard. You are horrible to work with. My question is for Wes and the cast. What's it like to work with someone as awful and...
