A Russian court has ruled that the Moscow branch of the Church of Scientology should be dissolved. The Moscow city court accepted the arguments of Russia's justice ministry that as the term "Scientology" is a registered US trademark, the Church cannot be considered a religious organisation.

We've been bringing you The Power Index from Chris Stirewalt fairly regularly, especially when it shows recent movement/volatility. The Real Story airs this each week, and it's not based on polls alone but many other factors, including momentum, money, strength of organization etc. In this week's segment, Stirewalt has Trump moving up, but only to third. He has both Fiorina and Carson moving down. Cruz though he's had in the top spot for a few weeks running. Won't it be interesting to see which tack the media takes in trying to take Cruz down? Whichever it is, I think the...

Michael Meyers was found dead shortly before 1:30 p.m. Saturday, about 11,000 feet up in the mountains in an area of the John Muir Wilderness, according to Deputy Coroner Investigator Jeff Mullenhour. Meyers, an experienced hiker and climber, was hiking the area by himself. He was due back in Los Angeles on Nov. 11, according to his family. The UCLA physics student was driving a Dodge SUV, which was discovered Thursday at the Mount Whitney trailhead. Items belonging to Meyers were found Friday in a recent avalanche debris field near Mount Irvine, the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a...

…the mass that distorts the faraway galactic light is found surrounding the two giant 'eye' galaxies and a 'nose' galaxy. The multiple arcs of the circular 'face' arise from gravitational lensing of four different background galaxies well behind the 'eye' galaxies. Chandra also said that that its x-ray observations show that that the two eyes of the cat - and the smaller galaxies associated with them - are slamming into one another in a colossal collision between galaxies: Each 'eye' galaxy is the brightest member of its own group of galaxies and these two groups are racing toward one...

The law firm representing Ahmed Mohamed, who has become known as Clock Boy, has sent the Irving City Hall and Irving School District a letter demanding $10 million and $5 million respectively for the poor treatment of Mohamed. If the government refuses to cough up the $15 mil, the law firm will file a suit for damages. The city and school have 60 days to comply. In a letter sent Monday, the law firm Laney & Bollinger also demanded a written apology from Mayor Beth Van Duyne and Police Chief Larry Boyd. The attorneys are claiming that Mohamed's civil rights...

Let's look at the facts.. It has now been proven that the Obama administration LIES about how intensely the U.S. has been attacking ISIS.. The U.S. is faking its 'War on ISIS' and even drops leaflets in advance of airstrikes warning ISIS to flee. Is this not TREASON? Why is the U.S. faking its war on ISIS? It's all about the refugees.. Obama WANTS more refugees to flood into Europe and the U.S. Notice how adamant he is about acceptance of refugees, yet mysteriously passive when talking about the evils of ISIS? This is because the refugees are the ENDGAME...

The annual national collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is this weekend. What many Catholics do not realize is that at the very core of the CCHD is a philosophy of revolutionary leftist ideologies. Over the years, the CCHD has been rightly criticized for funding organizations that are themselves promoting contraception, homosexuality, abortion, prostitution, and socialism. But these issues are only symptoms of an overall thrust that is aimed directly at convincing Catholics to fund Marxist revolution in the United States. The intent of this article, while certainly not exhaustive, is to help Catholics understand how the...

Gezer is mentioned in a well-known passage in the Hebrew Bible that states that Solomon used forced labor "to build the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, [and] Gezer" (1 Kings 9:15)... at Hazor, Megiddo and Gezer... most of the structures clearly belong to the Iron Age. In contrast, the water system at Tel Gezer has now been dated by project archaeologists to a much earlier period -- the MBA -- with a date as early as 2000 B.C... Gezer is also the site of massive fortifications and other structures dating to the MBA -- in addition to the Iron Age...

Given that the deadline to file for the New Hampshire ballot was three days ago, I’m not sure why the Globe felt this was necessary. Maybe they wanted to show people how soft Trump’s support in the state really is, despite all of the polls there showing him leading? If so, it would have been nice to make that point when Romney was still viable as a potential candidate. Right now, looking at Rubio’s relative weakness in New Hampshire, I’ll bet a lot of establishmentarians who are worried about Trumpmentum would think hard about Romney 3.0 as a last-ditch bid...

Its been about 5 weeks ago I had my first cataract replaced and 4 weeks ago the second. Not meaning to stir up any (too much) controversy I can unconditionally say that if I had it to do over again I absolutely would not have had it done. And I'm posting this entry mainly for nearsighted persons of which I was one. On the one hand I can now clearly see forever and drive a car without glasses. On the other hand, while I only wore glasses while driving a car I now wear glasses near all the time. :<(((((...

The news in this year's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report on sexually transmitted diseases is not good. The number of cases of chlamydia and gonorrhea in the United States increased between 2013 and 2014, after being on the decline for several years. Cases of syphilis, which have been on the rise for the last decade, shot up in 2014. Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis are the three most common STDs in the United States that are also notifiable, meaning health departments are required to report new cases to the CDC. (HIV and shigella are also notifiable STDs.) Chlamydia is...

In 1495, a "new" disease spread throughout Europe: syphilis. Christopher Columbus was said to have brought this sexually transmitted disease back from his voyage to America. At least, that has been the accepted theory up until now. Using morphological and structural evidence, researchers from the Department of Forensic Medicine and the Center for Anatomy and Cell Biology (bone laboratory) at MedUni Vienna have now identified several cases of congenital syphilis dating back to as early as 1320 AD in skeletons from excavations at the cathedral square of St. Polten, Austria... Congenital syphilis, which is passed from a pregnant mother to...

GENEVA, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Weather-related disasters such as floods and heatwaves have occurred almost daily in the past decade, almost twice as often as two decades ago, with Asia being the hardest hit region, a U.N. report said on Monday. While the report authors could not pin the increase wholly on climate change, they did say that the upward trend was likely to continue as extreme weather events increased. Since 1995, weather disasters have killed 606,000 people, left 4.1 billion injured, homeless or in need of aid, and accounted for 90 percent of all disasters, it said. A recent...

I'm not bragging, because it isn't my recipe. In fact, I have no doubt that many of you out there will have Thanksgiving turkeys equally as good or better than what I will cook. However, my sister-in-law most definitely makes the BEST dessert for Thanksgiving. Only THREE people in the world know the recipe: Her mother, my sister-in-law, and my niece, her daughter, Genesis the Mermaid. It is soooooo good that I have begged my sister-law-to enter the Pillsbury baking contest. The reason why she would probably win is that her dessert is incredible in terms of taste, texture, and...

Game of Thrones' sixth season is premiering next April. (Spoilers ahead, if that's a concern for you.) HBO shared the new season's first promotional image on Twitter this morning, and it features the bloody visage of a character that currently seems to be hovering somewhere between alive and dead: Jon Snow, former Stark bastard and Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. When we last saw Snow, he was being lured into a trap by disillusioned members of his brigade and stabbed to death in a display of brutal mutiny. Of course, there's been a ton of speculation about his true...
