A report in Vanity Fair details actions by some members of the U.S. State Department to block efforts to investigate the origins of the coronavirus because the inquiry could open “a can of worms.” An internal memo sent to department heads by Thomas DiNanno, former acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance, warned “not to pursue an investigation into the origin of COVID-19.” The “can of worms” in question was the extensive funding by the U.S. government into the Wuhan Virology Lab’s “gain-of-function” virus research. It’s unclear whether DiNanno was concerned that an...

I've been reading FR for years now but haven't ever commented. I genuinely enjoy the commentary. Sometimes it's intelligent. Sometimes it's terrible. But it's always entertaining. But I have a few questions: Why does it take so much money to keep FR going? I have numerous sites that cost a couple hundred dollars a year to keep going. Why is there censorship? Posts and comments at deleted. If they are bad or objectionable, why delete them? Why can't you self police this?

CAIRO - The Arab League on Sunday criticized Western military strikes on Libya, a week after urging the United Nations to slap a no-fly zone on the oil-rich North African state. "What has happened in Libya differs from the goal of imposing a no-fly zone and what we want is the protection of civilians and not bombing other civilians," Arab League secretary general Amr Mussa told reporters. On March 12, the Arab League urged the United Nations to impose a no-fly zone on Libya and said Moammar Gadhafi’s regime had "lost legitimacy" as it sought to snuff out a rebellion...

Air defenses in the country were targeted in the coalition assault. Qaddafi's military is still operating on the ground. He has attacked the city of Misrata, and rebels there tell Al-Jazeera that many are hurt or killed. The coalition is fraying a bit over the issue of civilian deaths in the air strikes. We have no firm numbers on civilians killed, but the...

Video #1: To set this up, Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid apologized on Saturday for saying Barack Obama should seek and could win the White House because Obama was a "light skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Video #2: In response, the official Obama Criticizer, Bo Snerdley, offended as a dark skinned American, criticizes Harry Reid saying: "I don't understand President Obama standing up for us dark ones!"

OUR WORST NIGHTMARE CONFIRMED: Obama’s COLB Lacks Legal Veracity. What Now? On July 27, 2009, Obama was not verified as ‘Constitutionally Qualified to be U.S. President’ by the standards of Hawaii’s Department of Health and Vital Statistics Registrar. Any assertions by Nancy Pelosi or anyone else must be reexamined under the following LIGHT: THE KEY: ‘FILED by Local Registrar’ vs. ‘ACCEPTED by State Registrar’ We have two statements about two sets of vital records belonging to the President issued from Hawaii. An “original birth certificate” that is “on record in accordance to state policies and procedures” in October, 2008, AND...

A surrogate mother breached a contract when she secreted away the triplets she delivered for a would-be Kirtland father and set out to raise them at her Pennsylvania home, an appellate court ruled Wednesday. The 9th Ohio District Court of Appeals ordered Danielle Bimber to reimburse James Flynn her $20,000 surrogate's fee plus child-support that Flynn has been required to pay as the biological father of the three boys. The decision was unanimous. Presiding Judge Lynn C. Slaby used the opinion to implore state legislators to tackle the complicated issue of surrogacy, which is not addressed under state statutes. He...

Contending that women have more options than they do in the event of an unintended pregnancy, men's rights activists are mounting a long shot legal campaign aimed at giving them the chance to opt out of financial responsibility for raising a child. The National Center for Men has prepared a lawsuit - nicknamed Roe v. Wade for Men - to be filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Michigan on behalf of a 25-year-old computer programmer ordered to pay child support for his ex-girlfriend's daughter. The suit addresses the issue of male reproductive rights, contending that lack of such rights...
