I believe in the Christian bible, and the verses that I outlined above. I will include them here, for your perusal:
Num. 16: 22 God of the spirits of all flesh.
Deut. 14: 1 Ye are the children of the Lord your God.
Mal. 2: 10 Have we not all one father.
Acts 17: 29 we are the offspring of God.
Rom. 8: 16 Spirit itself beareth witness . . . we are the children of God.
Eph. 4: 6 One God and Father of all.
Heb. 12: 9 ..be in subjection unto the Father of spirits.

These verses are in the Bible, the foundation of Christianity. I would hesitate to call a religion that professes to believe that all are spirit children of God, because of these verses that say EXACTLY that, a non Christian religion. Besides that, this venom is unbecoming a Christian. Did not Jesus tell us to Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself, and Judge Not that Ye Be Not Judged.

It’s not propaganda, it is biblical doctrine.

These are just a few of the references in the Old and New Testaments that clearly indicate that God is our Heavenly Father. I believe the Bible. I believe the words of these ancient prophets. If you interpret the above differently than I, that is fine. I certainly will not bash you for it, and I would appreciate you not bashing me with a presumption that your interpretation is correct.

The LDS church leaders have not commented on Romney’s abortion stance because they do not make any political statements. They don’t support specific candidates. It’s is the Mormon member’s responsibility to study the issues, voting records and such and decide for themselves.

I am no friend of Mitt Romney. I do not like his past governing record, and have no interest in having him as a president. I did not listen to his Faith speech, because frankly, actions speak louder than words. Matthew 7:20 says that “by their fruits ye shall know them.” Didn’t like his fruits, will not vote for him.

That said, I would like to explain that I believe, and all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe, that all of us on this earth are brothers and sisters. This simple idea is premised in that we are all spirit sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father, or God. When you consider everyone around you as a brother or sister, and act accordingly, it makes the world a better place. So, even if you don’t agree with the idea, it has great merit. I happen to believe it. When the foundation of that aspect of our belief is understood, the fact that someone points out an unexpected relationship is a non-issue. I also happen to believe that Moses is your brother, and Judas.... and most amazing and humbling of all, Jesus. Jesus was the only physical son of the Father, though. That made it possible for Him to atone for our sins.

I can’t believe you pulled this from breaking news. That is the only way that I learned of this extremely important information. Please put it back in breaking. I does matter a lot to some people. Ebay certainly isn’t forthcoming with the info.

What does one need to know about national security? Beck also pointed out that Bin Laden has permission, from an imam, to murder 2 million American kids. That is 2,000,000, enough to make the sanest parent gasp. Bin Laden claims that the attack on American children will be 100 Beslans. DRL, I don’t know how come you are playing this down, but it definitely needs to be addressed by our nations schools. It is criminal that the powers that be are checking cavities in airports, but totally ignore the vulnerability of our schools. It is criminal that the powers that be are letting Mexico free flow into the US, but nary a plan is dispensed to the administrators over our children. It is criminal, and we need to address this before it is too late. Reactionary was necessary before 9.11. Reactionary is necessary now.

Thanks for all the great Freeper advice! I do think that there is cause for legal action, with the things that I have discovered so far. First, we have two mayors that have been involved in planning this since 2004, and they didn’t follow state regulations regarding notifying affected entities before planning. Second, we have the ostracized planning commission member on the Highland Council. Third, we have the case of the missing 20 year plan for Highland road construction that clearly indicates another roadway slated for this development. A former city council member has stated there was such a plan, and now it is gone. Fourth, we have mayors independently making plans, without informing their associated city councils (for years) - or involving them in any way. In fact, the council members didn’t even know about this road until 2 weeks ago! I am going to look up the city charters today to find out what regulations their are in drawing up new plans.

I real positive development, is that this MAG organization and the Mayors of the city appear to have violated Utah State Law. Here is a copy of my email to the Attorney General:

Attorney General Shurtleff,
I have been a resident on 9600 North, Highland for two years. Tuesday morning, I found out that this road is slated to become a major East-West collector road, stretching from Pleasant Grove to I-15. My notification came in the form of a citizen’s flier notifying me of an American Fork council meeting about the issue. After some research, I discovered that this is part of the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), transportation plan for Utah county. The Mayors of both American Fork and Highland are a part of this organization.

According to the Utah State Code, Section 10-9a-203, a municipality is required:
1. Before preparing a proposed general plan...shall provide 10 calendar days notice of its intent to: each effected entity.
2. Each notice should indicate that the city intends to prepare the plan, and be sent by mail or email or other effective means.

The 2005 MAG Transportation Plan was initially started in 2004, and states that they are planning to make this roadway a 3-5 line roadway. The 2007 Plan includes a finished proposal with an outline of what affected cities must do.

I have only been a resident for two years. If MAG and my Mayor had followed the laws and legal requirements as outlined in the Utah Code, I would have been informed of this planned development, Before I Purchased My Home. The plan is finished and the roadway is scheduled to be constructed between 2007 and 2010, according to the documents obtained from MAG. To date, I have never been informed by American Fork City or Highland City, or MAG, as required by Utah Code Section 10-9a-203, and neither were the previous residents. In addition, this specific development has not been published 4 times in the media as Utah law requires, and they have not posted public notices. This would appear to be a violation of state law.

I would like to know what action can be taken to correct this violation of laws that govern our state.

Great information Daffy. I think that I am going to need it. Apparently the American Fork and Highland mayors have known about this deal for a few years. The real clincher is, why have they been approving new development on this road, that they knew was going to be destroyed. There are brand spanking new houses, up for sale, by the builders, right now. I am looking for some code in the affected cities. These mayors sound way dirty.

That’s a good idea. It worries me, because all the mortgage services have been effectively closed, because of the economic meltdown. I do think these cities are effectively relegating some of us to renterhood.

I like your idea. If I don’t win, maybe your plan could be implemented. I think they will have to justify this action, by unelected bureaucrats that don’t even live within 50 miles of me.

I’m not giving up yet. But, I appreciate your advice.

Oh, yeah, the chairmain of MAG just happens to be the Mayor of Highland city. Apparently, he and his American Fork cohort kept this plan under wraps and did not inform the city councils until this week.

I was doing some more research on this proposal. The driving force behind this proposal is a semi government group called Mountainland Association of Governments. They have apparently been planning this for some time. They have just finalized a long range plan on my road, scheduled for construction between 2007 and 2015, so it appears that they already have Federal Funding. You can poke around their website at http://www.mountainland.org. And, get this, the Executive Council of MAG is made of Mayors from cities all over Utah county, and Mayors from Summit and Wasatch County. What, pray tell, are all these people, who have absolutely no vested interest, or accountability, deciding what to do with my road, in my town!!! I am mad. This has to be illegal. How can it not be? I didn’t elect these jokers, and they don’t represent me, and they certainly don’t have what’s best for this community in mind.

I know that the city has the right. However, I am asking that you carefully read my post and look at the maps. I am telling you that the city is doing something unethical and illogical, and possibly corrupt and illegal due to the fact that they are eliminating the Councilwoman’s input and they haven’t notified all the homeowners along this road. If you don’t feel that you want to stand up against the corrupt government, whatever. I just hope someone cares enough to add their voice to mine that this is wrong.

The admin deleted the email address of these government officials that I included in my post. I appreciate that their are privacy concerns for private citizens, however, being the official in charge of governing a group of citizens would appear to nullify that right.
