Karl is hesitant to discuss everything, as expected, as he is still consulting with his lawyer. His only charge was "parading", walking back and forth carrying a flag. A social networking service known as Parler is facing immense pressure from big tech companies to strengthen its content moderation policies. On Friday, Google and Apple both suspended Parler from their app stores, claiming some of the political posts on the platform incite violence and need to be regulated. A spokesperson for Google said the suspension will remain in place until developers submit a detailed content moderation plan and address what he called a “public safety threat.”

DALLAS - A former Dallas police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man in his apartment was found guilty of murder by a Dallas County jury on Tuesday. Guyger was off-duty but still in uniform after a long shift when she shot Botham Jean, a 26-year-old accountant from the Caribbean nation of St. Lucia. Murder carries a sentence of five to 99 years. The punishment phase, which will start Tuesday afternoon, will determine just how long her sentence will be. The Fort Worth ISD school board voted to fire a teacher accused of posting a controversial tweet about illegal immigration.

The Dallas/ Fort Worth area is the fastest growing metropolitan area in the country, according to new estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau. DFW added 131,767 residents from 2017 to 2018. Phoenix was second with more than 96,000 new residents. .....The census data showed the majority of the growth in the region is going to the suburbs.

President Trump is ramping up pressure on Mexico by warning the U.S. will impose auto tariffs on the country if it does not help stem the flow of the illegal immigration. While speaking from the White House Thursday, the president gave Mexico a one-year deadline to step up efforts to curb the crisis. He warned if the country does not help by that time then the U.S. will close the border. The president also expanded his threat to shutdown the border by acknowledging there would likely be economic impacts, but saying security is more important.

A billboard with Confederate symbols is raising the question of basic decency in Kaufman County while taking aim at the city of Dallas. The billboard is on Highway 175 in the town of Kemp, about 45 miles southeast of Dallas. The sign shows a cartoon character with a Confederate flag urinating on the Dallas skyline and says “I support Confederate heritage.”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is stressing that Republicans need to “stand up” against fired FBI Director James Comey. Sanders tweeted the remark Monday, saying the president did the U.S. a service by firing Comey as the list of his corrupt actions is too long to name.

President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee will not be returning to Harvard this winter to teach his law school course. Dallas police took six teens into custody for committing at least four robberies Sunday morning -- including robbing a couple at gunpoint who were out walking their dog. The couple were out walking their dog just after midnight Sunday morning near the Bishop Arts District. A neighbor’s surveillance camera captured this video of three boys approaching them with guns drawn, yelling, “Give me your wallet! Give me your phone!”

Three employees were shot during a possible bank robbery in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Fort Worth Thursday morning. Fort Worth Police Department’s Officer Chris Britt said it happened around 9:20 a.m. at the Veritex Community Bank on Merrick Street.
