Over the weeks since the Alito Draft was leaked a few things popped into my head. Pardon if this (supposition) has been offered before. *After the RvW draft leaked Roberts quickly called for a full investigation. *That "rigorous" investigation has not revealed anything at all. (I'm not surprised) *Roberts had not voted yes or no in the draft; at that time it was 5 to 3 in favor of overturning RvW. *There have been rumors that Roberts visited pedo island and that, as a result, the left owns him. *Roberts was the deciding vote that permitted the unconstitutional ACA. *There...

Our wonderful and forthcoming government has been insistent to the point of oppression that we must all become vaccinated. We must do this to overcome COVID and “stop the spread”. Unfortunately there are problems with this. Recently I was talking with a work colleague. She was adamant that everyone should be vaccinated and that not getting the vaccine was unbelievably selfish. Among her claims was that unvaccinated covid patients are taking ICU beds from others who need them. This is false because covid ICUs are necessarily separate and typically set up away from regular ICU units. Nonetheless, this and other...

True story. A couple of years back, I was walking home at night on North Capitol Street here in Washington, D.C., when two dudes randomly assaulted me before running away without stealing anything. At the time, I didn't think it was all that strange—I've lived in urban areas all my life, and plenty of people I know have been victims of anonymous street crime.

It may seem counterintuitive that a TV show about a meth cook could have a conservative theme, much less a Christian one, but that's because people think Christian movies are supposed to have camels -- or a "Little House on the Prairie" cast. READ THE BIBLE! It's chockablock with gore, incest, jealousy, murder, love and hate. Because the Bible tells the truth, the lessons are eternal -- which also marks the difference between great literature and passing amusements. Recall that even Jesus usually made his points with stories. The sweet, soulful druggie on "Breaking Bad," Jesse Pinkman, illustrates -- heartbreakingly...

A group called The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is planning a one million Muslims march to Washington D.C. on September 11th. The timing of the group's march is seen by many as tasteless (to say the least) considering it is scheduled for the anniversary of the worst domestic massacre in American history perpetrated in the name of Islam. AMPAC ups the tasteless quotient by issuing "demands" for the American government

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Postal Service takes pictures of every piece of mail processed in the United States - 160 billion last year - and keeps them on hand for up to a month. In an interview with The Associated Press, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe said the photos of the exterior of mail pieces are used primarily for the sorting process, but they are available for law enforcement, if requested. The photos have been used "a couple of times" by to trace letters in criminal cases, Donahoe told the AP on Thursday, most recently involving ricin-laced letters sent to President...

I have read what is happening in New York with frustration. Already a progressive haven from way DL, Gov. Cuomo seems to be on a liberal legislative frenzy. New York's restrictive gun law was put into place so quickly that it will have to be amended for police. Abortion law changes that will fly in the face of a significant Catholic population, some of which actually pay attention. What else is next? (as if that is not enough!) These are big issues and significant changes in a very short time. Rahm Emmanuel would be very proud of Andrew. For quite a...

If you read the article HERE you find a lot of good information. Maps are displayed along with time lines that describe the encounter between Martin and Zimmerman. This is the most detailed account I have seen yet.A week or two ago another thread asked why no footage had been shown with Trayvon getting his Skittles at the 7-Eleven. I speculated that they didn't want the public to know that this "poor little boy" was actually much bigger than Zimmerman, and no longer a little boy. But there may be another reason; he was never there.According to the account Zimmerman...

(Reuters) - Once a year, every year, Professor Thomas Borody receives a single-stem rose from one of his most grateful patients. She is, he says, thanking him for restoring her bowel flora. It's a distasteful cure for a problem that's increasingly widespread: the Clostridium difficile bug, typically caught by patients in hospitals and nursing homes, can be hard to treat with antibiotics. But Borody is one of a group of scientists who believe the answer is a faecal transplant. Some jokily call it a "transpoosion." Others have more sciencey names like "bacteriotherapy" or "stool infusion therapy." But the process involves,...

ALBANY - Stung by Carl Paladino's below-the-belt attacks, an angry Andrew Cuomo summoned his war council on Monday to figure out how to fight back against his slash-and-burn GOP rival. "If a guy says you have no cojones, how do you punch him back, call him an a--hole?" the Democratic gubernatorial candidate fumed in a secret talk to his team, one insider said. Read more and vote in the poll HERE :

The impression is spreading that I have drawn an equation between the American flag and the hammer and the sickle. I'm currently serving for target practice on some right-wing websites, and a group of Tweeters are having jolly fun portraying me as an America hater and worse. This is the result of one single Twitter of mine, and those who were eager to misunderstand it. Tweets are limited to 140 characters, and here is what I tweeted: @ebertchicago Kids who wear American Flag t-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer...

Ecological disaster has long been a hallmark motif in many science fiction stories and movies, from "The Day of the Triffids," where alien plants take over earth to "Them," the classic science-fiction movie about ants transformed into giant arthropods by the atomic bomb. In the Hugo-winning science fiction novel "The Sheep Look Up" by John Brunner, (perhaps the ultimate environmental disaster novel), the final solution to stopping the environment from being destroyed by man is to kill off the most "wasteful" nation on earth, the American people! James Cameron's new sci-fi extravaganza, "Avatar," set to open Friday, says virtually the...

Some Southern Lehigh High School students who camped in the school's courtyard overnight as a senior prank could face trespassing charges and disciplinary action. Brian McLaughlin of Upper Saucon Township police, who is assigned to the school as a resource officer, said 17 boys took part in the Monday night prank. He is investigating whether any others were involved.

A mother of five is serving a life sentence in the death of a 4-year-old child she and her husband were adopting because a Texas jury believed she forced him to drink Zatarain's Cajun Seasoning and delayed getting the boy emergency medical attention.Hannah Overton was convicted this month in Corpus Christi. Jury selection in the trial of her husband, Larry, is set to begin Oct. 1. But those who know the Overtons best aren't buying the prosecution's story and, in fact, believe evidence was distorted and doctored by district attorney's office, police department, child protective services and the news media...

A Severe Strain on the Credulity “As a method of sending a missile to the higher, and even to the highest parts of the earth's atmospheric envelope, Professor Goddard's rocket is a practicable and therefore promising device. It is when one considers the multiple-charge rocket as a traveler to the moon that one begins to doubt ... for after the rocket quits our air and really starts on its journey, its flight would be neither accelerated nor maintained by the explosion of the charges it then might have left. Professor Goddard, with his "chair" in Clark College and countenancing of...

I lost a friend during the New York City blackout. We were not especially close – the last I'd seen of her was a year ago, as she walked off into the night after an evening's reunion on the rue Roger Verlomme. But her death by her own hand hit me harder than I would have imagined, perhaps because she was one of the most vivacious women of my acquaintance. A pretty redhead with laughing, mischievous eyes, she was always strikingly alive. I met her at a Thanksgiving dinner when I was in college – she was several years younger,...
