Some Southern Lehigh High School students who camped in the school's courtyard overnight as a senior prank could face trespassing charges and disciplinary action.
Brian McLaughlin of Upper Saucon Township police, who is assigned to the school as a resource officer, said 17 boys took part in the Monday night prank. He is investigating whether any others were involved.

They were making sure they were not late for the last day of school!! If you believe that I have some land in south Florida what is not snake, alagator infested, is not swamp land has never been hit by huricane and I will sell it to you real cheap!!
gimmee a break! Big deal!
A student is facing possible disciplinary action for alerting the media. Hey, is that legal?
Anybody left in this country with a sense of humor?
The school board president doesn’t seem too happy about the kids who were suspended for contacting the press. She probably sees a lawsuit in her future.

A couple of administrators are going to hear about this tomorrow I bet.
It’s amazing how these mindless chuckleheads (school administrators) are so ready to push their students into the court system because they are too stupid to use their own judgment. What the hell are they being paid for? All they do is call the cops when they have a problem. They certainly shouldn’t be making those outrageous salaries.
Students aren’t too happy either. They are rallying around the students and are planning a sit-in for Friday. If the school board is smart, they’ll clear this up pronto.
Was what they did illegal? It probably was, but as pranks go, beyond the potential for injury this was rather amusing IMO. As was said by another poster this was no big deal - except, it seems, in the heads of school administrators. Their overreaction is absurd and they know it. That's why they are threatening punishment for those who told the press.
This gets me to point two. It seems that many communities have their very own local dictators. School boards and administrators that try to put students in jail for a prank or kick out honor students for months or even permanently for OTC meds or an inadvertant nail file.
For a long time I have wondered how our government would eventually take over. I had thought that even if they succeeded in a repressive socialist state (like now), the local people and communities would resist. I no longer have any confidence in that happening. The local septic service needs to send out the honey dipper to give the school administrators labotomies.
I can only hope the students who may stage a sit in protest are actually rising above the constraints of their educations and truly grasp what they are doing.
I think a lot of people are now getting wise to the stupidity of zero tolerance rules and over zealous school administrators. Not too long ago, people generally supported zero toleranace in regards to students having controlled substances, not over-the-counter products, real guns, not drawings of guns or toy guns, etc. People are wakening up to the fact that it’s gone entirely too far and school administrators are negligent in using good judgment, relying on the police to do their jobs for them — all too eager to thrust kids into the criminal justice system. What’s that all about?
And, of course, the huge salaries these people make for not exercising good judgment.
Read the messages at the end of the story’s article. They aren’t very complimentary.
Have you read the articles discussing how highly profitable dealerships are being closed and peoples' jobs and businesses are being stolen from them? And that these dealerships targeted for closing are overwhelmingly businesses whose owners contributed to Republican candidates and didn't contribute to Democrats?
All of those liberals who are driving around with old bumper stickers claiming: "If you are not outraged you are not paying attention!" finally have correct statements stuck to their cars.
I didn’t realize that about the dealers. That should be publicized.
We put a few dozen pairs of tighty-whities up the flagpole and then cut the rope in my high school.
It’s a right of passage.
We (several senior football players) turned the football coach’s Volkswagen Bug sideways in his parking spot so he couldn’t get out. We thought it was hilarious, but he didn’t. Even so, the school didn’t call the cops and there was no punishment that I can recall.
