Alex Yenni recently endeavored to take his wife and 5-year-old son bowling with another family in Petaluma, Calif., close to their home. The plan quickly went into the gutter.Mr. Yenni, a 42-year-old advertising executive, tried to book online in advance at AMF Boulevard Lanes, where he wanted to reserve two lanes for two hours at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of the year during winter break. The price quoted by the website, run by national operator Bowlero Corp., knocked him over: $418.90. “This strikes me as outrageous for a pedestrian family activity,” he said.

A Danville bowling alley has come out in opposition to the indoor mask mandate rolled out by seven Bay Area counties earlier this week. Danville Bowl is going so far as to refuse enforcing the mandate, their reasoning being that "everyone has the right to freedom and not constant retracting restrictions from the government." "If you would like to wear your mask inside while you bowl…feel free," reads their post published Tuesday. "If you don’t want too, that’s okay. The choice is up to YOU, as it always should have been. Not to mention if you’re vaccinated you should have...

Daniel Kluska’s family has never looked at Down syndrome as something that limits him. It certainly didn’t hold him back on Nov. 20, when Kluska rolled a perfect game in a sanctioned bowling league. The 300 was in the Wednesday Mixers League at Super Bowl. Everybody in the bowling center was watching as Kluska, 24, closed in on a perfect game. He didn’t have any trouble until the ninth frame, when his ball hit only about a quarter of the head pin. The 5 pin was the last one to fall. At that point, his father, Justin, got the feeling...

It is not a performance ball and I will only use it for certain spares. If anyone wants the design, let me know. It took several revisions and many hours to design. It is expensive at $209 but is a great campaign message.

VIDEO I find exercise to be incredibly BORING. That's why I like to do what I call No Exercise Exercises as a fun way to lose weight. And one of my favorite No Exercise Exercises is bowling. On Sunday mornings at my neighborhood bowling alley they offer the off-peak hours discount of only $5 for three hours of bowling. If you don't think of bowling as an exercise it is probably because you are bowling against others so you get breaks between rolling the balls. Try bowling by yourself as I did for three hours and you will see how...

"I was 55 when I first started bowling,” says Avis Stiles, "that makes what, 43 years!" Now, a solid figure on Mercy Joplin's Prestige League, Avis Bowls for the company and good times. Donald Trump Jr. posted a video on social media Saturday of his family using the White House bowling alley. In the short clip, his wife, Vanessa, is seen bowling — heels and all! “Family bowling session at The White House. [VanessaTrump] doing pretty well considering she’s in heels,” Trump Jr tweeted. The bowling alley is used more by White House staffers, Secret Service and the occasional party loyalist than presidents. It’s not clear if former President Barack Obama ever used the lane, though he reportedly spent his 48th birthday bowling at Camp David. Obama did catch grief for a plan...

If you’ve ever seen The Big Lebowski, you’ll recognise this photograph of President Richard Nixon bowling, which infamously loomed over the Dudes tiki bar in the cult Coen brothers film. It is in fact a real photograph of Nixon and as I recently discovered, in 1969 the former President added his own secret one-lane bowling alley in the basement of the the White House just a few years before the Watergate scandal broke– and it’s still there today.

Unless I was out of town, this summer I have bowled almost every day wearing my Trump hat and have managed to convert people, even millenials. Up in lights on the scoreboard I have used several names: Lock Her Up, Hillary Sux, Never Hillary, No Hillary, No Hillary Ever, Hillary Is Evil --- well, you get the point. Some people don't like it, but too bad. It gives me a chance to have conversations. Here are today's scores:

During open bowling, I have used Obama Sucks and other attacks on the community organizer from Kenya. But lately, it is time to go after Hillary. When you bowl, have some extra fun and put up a name to insult her or cause a conversation. I may have changed a guy's mind yesterday after he commented on the name and I educated him. On another note, it might be interesting for Trump to have "bowling night" fundraiser across the country and give a live speech broadcast at bowling alleys across the country. Then some bowling with Hillary pins. If the...

OWASSO, Oklahoma - An Owasso man was arrested for maiming after an apparent brawl at a bowling alley. James Thomas Foster bit the ear off another man during a fight at the Coffee Creek bowling alley, according to court documents. Court records state two groups of people were bowling in adjoining lanes on August 31, 2014. One group was a mother, father and daughter; the other group was made up of about seven girls. The mother told police she accidentally knocked over a drink on the shared table between the lanes, and that sparked an argument. The group of girls...
