Unfortunately, my first image is a hospital official on the phone to an AP stooge with a gun to his head.

Good news.

We can treat maybe 20 patients at a time.

We have 150 arrivals A DAY from the hot zones.

Do the math...

Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......

(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

I imagine he’s going out for a nice evening of dinner, movie, and late night bowling, with a little projectile vomiting just for fun.

Saturday morning headline. No questions asked.

The first one to ask is, “how many patients can Bellevue take on and provide such an outcome?”...”At one time?”

The next one to ask is, “who’s paying these exorbitant bills?”

Just reading up....Stable is not a condition on its own.

In this case, I'd guess his condition is a "We don't really want you to know" condition.

Let’s face it. We live in such a corrupt political climate that even if Dr. Bowlingball died yesterday, the story as written would have run. ...with a followup Monday “condition upgraded to good”.

Wednesday we might learn the truth.

I’m only cynical because from that perspective I’m proven right 90% of the time.

How come Obama isn’t going around and visiting these “heroes”...at least shaking hands and giving them a big man hug....because it’s so hard to catch. It’s the least he could do.

I tend to agree with you. I repeat....stable is not a condition according to the “rule book”.

Granted even one is too many as we have discovered, but for accuracy’s sake not all 150 will have ebola.

Smells like propaganda. “Stable” is not a condition. A patient can be “critical and stable,” “good and stable,” and anything in between.

Thanks. The risk of death in 24 hours is new info for me. From the source... “...don’t mean a whole heck of a lot” puts it in perspective.

“After checking with a couple of doctors, one on each coast to account for any variation in local definitions, I can state with some certainty that most of these terms don’t mean a whole heck of a lot and vary depending on the hospital and the doctor’s definition.

“Critical” does seem to mean something fairly standard. As one doc told me, critical condition, by definition, requires care in a critical care or intensive care unit. In general, it’s the worst condition (other than, obviously, DOA) a patient can be in, with a high risk of death within the next 24 hours.

Being upgraded to “serious” means there is a lower likelihood of death within 24 hours, but the patient still requires close observation. So, you’re definitely thought to be better off in “serious” condition than in “critical” condition, but you’re not ready to go run a marathon, or for that matter shuffle to the bathroom.

Another term you’ve probably heard is “stable,” as in, “the patient is in serious but stable condition.” This means there are no major active medical issues and the patient’s basic vital functions are not fluctuating or in need of support.”

hubby is an MD and says not to read anything into these “condition” reports as there really are no set and universal standards as to what defines someone as critical or serious. Docs can and do decide these conditions in a sometimes arbitrary way.

Stable is usually used to describe vital signs.

The ONLY thing upgraded was the propaganda.

They deleted the actual condition “serious” because is hurt the message.

but for accuracy’s sake not all 150 will have Ebola.

Agreed!

Maybe only 10 will have been exposed.

Maybe only one on them will develops symptoms.

One imported active case a day, worst case.

That case will only expose, say, another 20 on the street and a like number of health care professionals.

Out of 300 millions or so, that trivial, right? RIGHT???
