At least nine people were injured at a mass shooting on a boardwalk at a Florida beach on Memorial Day. Video from a live camera showed bystanders enjoying their holiday at Hollywood Beach before gunfire erupted and they were forced to flee for their lives. Hollywood Police Department spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi told reporters that police believed the shooting was the result of an altercation between two groups at the boardwalk. U.S. Army veteran Jared Goering was kicked off the North Wildwood boardwalk Thursday night because he had his service dog by his side. Five people were shot along the boardwalk in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Thursday afternoon during a mini heat wave that had packed the city’s beaches. Two of the victims are badly wounded, the authorities said. The shooting took place around 5:20 p.m. on the boardwalk near Brighton Sixth Street, the Fire Department said.
