I don't know how many of you are into biking, but those of us who are, I thought I would show a neat product for the casual bicyclist. It's an electrical conversion for nearly any standard bicycle. It gives enough power to equate to leg power for about an hour. It's meant for those who wouldn't mind biking for up to an hour in one direction before needing to recharge it. I just think it's a neat niche product.

The BMW driver whose ride was surrounded and trashed by a gang of bicyclists on Fifth Avenue was attacked in broad daylight while driving with his elderly mom — who screamed during their escape, “We’re going to die, they’re going to kill us!” Max Torgovnick, 36, recounted the harrowing run-in to The Post one day after it unfolded around 4 p.m. Tuesday at 21st Street and Fifth Avenue. “It’s something that I never expected to happen in New York City,” said Torgovnick, a lifelong city resident. “That’s something like you would see on the streets of a war zone. I...

The driver of a box truck that struck and killed five bicyclists on a stretch of Nevada highway last week, and told investigators he fell asleep at the wheel, had a high level of methamphetamine in his system, prosecutors said Wednesday. Jordan Alexander Barson, 45, of Kingman, Arizona, faces 12 felony charges, including driving under the influence and reckless driving, in a criminal complaint filed in Las Vegas. "Choices have consequences," Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said after a Las Vegas judge issued a warrant for Barson's arrest in the Dec. 10 crash on U.S. 95 between Boulder City...

Cyclists searching for stolen bikes in Denver's homeless camps Cyclists turn to social media to find bikes By: Jaclyn AllenSep 28, 2020 DENVER -- A homeless camp or a bicycle chop shop? In Denver, they can certainly at least appear to be one and the same. So many bikes have been stolen across the city, some people -- encouraged on social media -- are now going from camp to camp looking for their property. "I would rather have my car stolen than this," said Carter Haun, pointing to his custom mountain bike. "It would be easier to get another car."...

Doug Gale, from Cheltenham, suffered four broken ribs, a fractured hip and a head injury after coming off his bike on Gupshill roundabout on the edge of Tewkesbury. But rather than call an ambulance the bloody and battered veteran cyclist headed home so his wife could take him to Cheltenham General Hospital. Harley-Davidson hasn’t been shy when it comes to talking about its ambitious electric bicycle goals. In fact, Harley-Davidson electric bicycles are a big part of the More Roads to Harley Davidson plan. But what H-D hasn’t done is show off its electric bicycles in public. Instead, they’ve only shown us renderings and pictures. Until today that is, when Harley-Davidson included the first three H-D electric bicycle prototypes in its sprawling display at the EICMA 2019 Milan Motorcycle Show. The three electric bicycles were front and center at the vast H-D booth, though they were surrounded by a glass barrier to...

When Karly Tardiff parked her bike before heading into work in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on August 13, she wasn’t expecting to do sprints until her CrossFit class later that afternoon. After all, the 28-year-old fundraising professional—who is the co-leader of a local Winnipeg running club called the Badass Lady Gang and trains for 5Ks and half marathons—was wearing a sundress and wedges, with her workout gear packed for later. “I commute to work every day, and then I bike off to CrossFit,” she told Runner’s World. Shortly after her lunch break, though, Tardiff’s normal routine was interrupted by a frantic maintenance...

With the bike tangled under the back tire of an NYPD SUV, the police officer was recorded explaining why he pulled over a cyclist, who allegedly ran through several red lights and refused orders to stop. “You’re riding recklessly and you’re refusing to stop after multiple orders when you looked and acknowledged,” the Manhattan officer said. “So I am going to use what means is necessary to stop you… that’s for your safety… this is for your safety, yes.”

Yes! Le Tour is here. The 106th edition of the race begins Saturday, in next-door Brussels, a nod to the stern-faced Belgian cycling titan Eddy Merckx, who won five overall Tours and 34 stages beginning in 1969... It’s got a case as the craziest and most beautiful event in sports, but it’s clearly an acquired taste. I’m really super-duper into it. You know this. ...the four-time Tour winner Chris Froome, was badly hurt in a crash, suffering a broken leg and other injuries. Froome would have been a favorite for this year. One of the more intriguing newbies is Mike...

The mobility needs of people who walk and cycle – often the majority of citizens in a city – continue to be overlooked, states Share the Road Programme Annual Report 2018. Even though the benefits of investing in pedestrians and cyclists can save lives, help protect the environment and support poverty reduction. Meeting the needs of people who walk and cycle continues to be a critical part of the mobility solution for helping cities de-couple population growth from increased emissions, and to improve air quality and road safety. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), safe infrastructure for walking and...

The stakes are high – will we be able to keep our much envied “antiquated” American way of life, our very freedom and mobility which defines who we are? Americans hold constitutional elections in order to choose, among many positions in government, the local mayor. But a non-governmental organization (NGO), Bycs, which created the bicycle mayors’ program, wants to change that. How can an unelected ‘mayor’ be constitutional? “It is nice to have one, centralized voice,” … “And, honestly especially in the U.S., it’s so much easier to do as a party of one, than a committee, meeting, month to...
