Bicycles and The Great Leap Backwards
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/03/19 | Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

The stakes are high – will we be able to keep our much envied “antiquated” American way of life, our very freedom and mobility which defines who we are?

Americans hold constitutional elections in order to choose, among many positions in government, the local mayor. But a non-governmental organization (NGO), Bycs, which created the bicycle mayors’ program, wants to change that. How can an unelected ‘mayor’ be constitutional? “It is nice to have one, centralized voice,” … “And, honestly especially in the U.S., it’s so much easier to do as a party of one, than a committee, meeting, month to month. It’s a great way to speed things up. We have to catch up, to provide alternative transportation.” I’ve heard that ‘party of one’ tune before under totalitarian communism.

“...will we be able to keep our much envied “antiquated” American way of life,...”

A few million American Patriot trigger fingers emphatically say “Yes. By Any Means Necessary.”

This antiquated American just burned 300 rounds of ammunition sighting in 4 different rifles. I know the drops from 50 to 400 yards. That’s how antiquated I am.

These people obviously haven't lived in America. I'd like one of these foreigners to take a coast-to-coast transcontinental window seat flight across the USA. I want them to look out the window the whole way.

And if they have any brain matter at all, they will realize how friggin stupid and crazy they really are.

And ride a bicycle through America's cities? Yeah, the 10 square blocks or so of gentrified area. Outside of that white zone you are in the wild Congo jungle.

Everyone I know that has regularly used a bicycle in an urban area has either been sent to the hospital or the morgue. Cars and bicycles don't mix. In almost every case, the person in the car did not see the bicycle.

I rode a motorcycle for several years and I got pushed off the road several times by cars. In the alternative, I have almost hit several bicycles and motorcycles. In one case, the motorcycle was completely obscured in the windshield pillar of my car. I only missed the bike, because I inadvertently swerved in my lane and the motorbike became visible.

Since the new trend with Soros backed DAs is not to prosecute thefts under $750, your bike will not be there when you go outside, anyway.

“It is nice to have one, centralized voice...” Sure it is; just ask Venezuela.

It is remarkable how many E-bikes are zipping around Manhattan these days (and nights).

“...antiquated ...”

Haha! What you call “antiquated “... I call “Veteran Rifleman”, brother. IOW - The Most Dangerous Thing In The World to the other side.

Aim Small, Miss Small...but don’t Miss at all.

Beautiful. This is rich. Too bad commies here can’t see how their vision of transportation is BACKWARD. Even as they keep telling us how we have to “move forward” to “alternatives” - BACKWARD alternatives.

LOL I just saw on Baltimore news yesterday whining about a “bike lane” being (NOT deleted, but) CHANGED because the ROI and potential danger seemed to prove too great. A woman activist all about using bikes made some comment about “advancing” - ROFL, idiot, you are going BACKWARD. Bikes came before automobiles, and quickly were relegated to pleasure & recreation IN THIS COUNTRY as autos proved much more “efficient”/ROI.

‘Can you not envision thousands of people biking to work on the busy interstates that crisscross our nation’s capital and its surrounding suburbs? And these bikers would try to take their children to school, “bike-pooling,” lugging sacks of groceries on a bike, carrying everything else home on a bike, including perhaps perishables such as ice cream?’

If we must go backward, I’d much rather use a horse for this.

Exactly. Another reason to prefer horses, if I must use old-style systems.
