A Canadian sniper set what appears to be a record, picking off an ISIS fighter from some 2.2 miles away, and disrupting a potentially deadly operation by the terror group in Iraq. Shooting experts say the fatal shot at a world-record distance of 11,316 feet underscores how stunningly sophisticated military snipers are becoming. The feat, pulled off by a special forces sniper from Canada’s Joint Task Force 2, smashed the previous distance record for successful sniper shots by some 3,280 feet, a record set by a British sniper. The new record was set using a McMillan TAC-50, a .50-caliber weapon...

Australia is undergoing a gun “amnesty”, the first general one since 1996, when some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world were imposed on Australia. The federal guidelines were fast tracked by the hoplophobic Prime Minister, John Howard, with substantial aid by the anti-gun Australian media, during the emotional effect of the Port Arthur massacre. From sbs.com.au: Since being declared a month ago, 1700 rifles, 460 shotguns and nearly 200 handguns have been surrendered and thousands more firearms submitted for registration.Surrendered items include four SKS assault rifles, a 9mm homemade sub-machine gun, a Colt AR-15 rifle, M1 carbine,...

    Accuracy in Academia ^ | August 14, 2017 | Brendan Cassell
Recently, ABC’s 'The View' had a discussion on the Texas law that allows students who are licensed to carry firearms who do so on public college campuses and universities. The law went into effect last year, but community colleges were given an extra year to comply. The segment opens with Whoopi Goldberg asking the question, "Should people be worried about this?" "Duh," said comedian Joy Behar as co-host Sunny Hostin rolled her eyes. Then Jedediah Bila, the show’s "conservative" voice, stepped up to defend the law. She pointed out that the Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooter targeted the theater because...
  • 10 Vintage Gun Ads that would be Banned in 2017

Gun ads have changed with the times. Political correctness is certainly not the name of the game in these classic pieces of gun marketing. It was just plain old fashion advertising back in the day. Hammer the hammer? Lawyers wouldn’t come within a football field of this one. Of course, hammering on a vintage revolver probably is a bad idea anyway…Oh no, that guy is teaching his son how to hunt, you say? Where are their iphones, video games and couch? Well, buddy, this is how a father is supposed to raise his son to be a man, not a...

Are you in the market for a really lightweight .22 caliber revolver? Are you in need of a snake gun for your tackle box or coat pocket? Well, Ruger has a little revolver for you, its the Ruger LCRx revolver. The Ruger LCRx revolver weighing under 17 ounces loaded is really a lightweight. Carrying 8 rounds and chambered in .22 long rifle cartridge this revolver would carry well. For target shooting this little revolver might be a little too light but probably not bad for just practicing with a revolver. Have a look at the Ruger LCRx Revolver video here.

Florida lawmakers can now submit bills for the 2018 legislative session, and Republican state Senator Greg Steube has ensured gun measures will be on the agenda. On Wednesday, Steube, filed SB 120, which would make businesses, organizations, and other private entities that ban firearms legally responsible for a conceal carry permit holder’s safety. In other words, if a CCW permit holder was injured by another person – or an animal – while on a business’ property where guns are banned, they could sue the business since the owner took away their ability to defend themselves. “If a private business wants...

Image from the Shillong Times Celebratory gunfire is dangerous. Those who engage in it may not consider where their bullets will land. Thirteen year old Noa Inman in Hammond, Indiana, was struck by a bullet on July 1st, 2017. He died from a wound to the head. Such clearcut examples are rare enough to become national news stories. From nbcchicago.com: Noah Inman, of the 1600 block of 171st Pl. in Hammond, was pronounced dead at 2:06 p.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Surprisingly few deaths from celebratory gunfire are listed in the wikipedia article.  The...

Just a little over a year ago, an employee at Yale smashed a stained glass window at the school because he was angry over the image of African Americans carrying cotton. We covered it in this post: Yale employee smashes allegedly racist stained-glass window, Yale won’t press charges. Not only did Yale not press charges, they rehired the employee with much fanfare. Now another piece of campus art has been altered for the sake of political correctness. ***snip***...you may have noticed a stone carving by the York Street entrance to Sterling Memorial Library that depict a hostile encounter: a Puritan...

“If the central government has the authority to tell a state it must accept permits from all the other states, then it also has the authority to tell a state it may not accept a concealed permit from any other states. If the central government can do these things it can set up a national concealed carry permit scheme and in essence bring into existence a national arms registry. That is exactly where this is headed.” Attorney Richard D. Fry 1 Some are touting the federal Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (HR 38) as a bill which would expand...

Smith and Wesson (S&W) has been offering a rebate on some of its firearms. The interesting note is that magazines and ammo can NOT be sent to the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York With the exception of Alaska (Don't know why that state will not allow shipment of mags & ammo), all of the states listed are known to be hotbeds of radical, leftist ideology. The ad confirms that fact. Those states are the enemy of conservative ideology.

Is there a better antiwar pop song than “Galveston,” which Jimmy Webb wrote and Glen Campbell sang in the Vietnam-hued year of 1969? Therein, a young soldier daydreams of his Texas home by the Gulf and the girl he left behind. He describes the things he misses—“seawaves crashing,” “seabirds flying in the sun”—and confesses, “I am so afraid of dying” without seeing girl or Galveston again. There is not a single note of preachiness or abstraction in the song. Yet in elevating home over foreign crusades, “Galveston” borders on sedition. It really ought to be banned under the Patriot Act....

Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts took to Twitter on Saturday to vilify the National Rifle Association and gun laws in Virginia as the reason behind the violent protests taking place in Charlottesville. Watt began retweeting various tweets with the same phrase: “The radicalization of America has been encouraged by the @NRA and open carry laws, which enable armed intimidation. #Charlottesville.” snip The Moms Demand Action account then sent out a series of tweets condemning members of the armed militia, saying they were there to intimidate protestors. The gun control group then went on to say open carry laws in...

Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- When the Australian government passed its restrictive gun law scheme in 1996, it did not anticipate the technological innovations that would be promoted. Some, like the straight pull FN/Browning Maral, above, are not much different from previous rifles. The British Lee-Enfield had 10 round detachable magazines a hundred and twenty years ago. The Canadian Ross and Swiss K31 rifles both used straight pull bolt actions with five shot magazines. The Maral has small improvements over all three previous rifles. From browning.eu: With all its undeniable experience in making hunting rifles, BROWNING has innovated yet again in the field of straight-pull...

Gays Against Guns will crash a gun show in Pennsylvania this weekend for the second time in less than a month as the gun control advocacy group experiments with new forms of protest in its second year of existence. The group, founded in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting last year, will hold a demonstration outside the Split Rock Gun Show scheduled for Saturday in Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania. Some protesters will wear a white veil and carry photos of local victims of gun violence, while others will hand out informational fliers containing statistics about gun-related deaths. “We are...

A leftist Wisconsin group, Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort (WAVE) is opposing teaching children gun safety in schools. They prefer that children not be taught about gun safety, because if they learn about guns, they may decide that guns can be fun and useful. From wrn.com: A group dedicated to preventing gun violence has concerns, over a bill that could have Wisconsin high schools teaching kids how to safely handle guns. The legislation from Republican lawmakers requires the Departments of Public Instruction, and Natural Resources to develop the curriculum. “Our concern is that it’s not actually firearms safety, it’s really about teaching...

The drought has been lifted, for almost half a decade, the long-standing 22 Lone Rifle ammunition is finally behind us. Wal-Mart announced this internally that any and all restrictions on purchasing 22 ammo in bulk have been removed. Up until about a year ago, 22LR was reasonably difficult to find in both bulk and inexpensively. Shared across Facebook and other social media, the new policy was announced to managers, loss prevention, and sales clerks. The new policy is a welcome change, especially for this in more rural areas where Wal-Mart was the major store, if not only, purveyors of ammunition....

The argument made by anti-Second Amendment groups that more legally carried guns on the streets will lead to a less safe environment took a hit on Monday when a responsible citizen stepped into a mass stabbing incident. After three people were stabbed by an assailant, the situation was ended when a man with a gun appeared. 49-year-old Bobby Martin Watson began his crime spree by opening the door of Rosanna Lynn’s car at a Publix parking lot near the Seminole City Shopping Center in Florida. He grabbed at her bag and stabbed her in the abdomen and thigh. A witness...

Can you use a regular CO2 canister to charge a Crossman model 113? The online manual shows an odd CO2 canister with a handle on the end to open it. Supposedly, you twist the canister onto the end of the tube, open the charging handle, and allow the pressure to equalize. Will a standard CO2 canister work on this?

A U.S. House member called the National Rifle Association and one of its chief spokeswomen a threat to national security. Rep. Kathleen Rice, New York Democrat, appeared to be responding to NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch noting that Philando Castile was in possession of marijuana when police shot the motorist dead. According to her next tweet five minutes later, that makes the NRA a “domestic security threat.” “I’m just going to say it. #NRA & @DLoesch are quickly becoming domestic security threats under President Trump. We can’t ignore that,” Ms. Rice said.
