A hero sniper took out an ISIS fanatic with an incredible 11,300-foot shot — which is more than 2 miles — the longest confirmed kill ever. A member of Canada’s Joint Task Force 2 killed the insurgent with a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle during an operation last month in Iraq. Sources wouldn’t reveal the names of the elite sniper and his spotter or the exact location where the shooting took place for operational reasons. A military source told the Globe and Mail: “The shot in question actually disrupted a Daesh [Islamic State] attack on Iraqi security forces.” “Instead of dropping...

When you spend lots of money on a gun safe, you’d imagine if it was theft proof. I can’t even begin to count the number of different gun safe brands out on the market right now. From super inexpensive options that are perfect for the hunting cabin, to extremely high-end super heavy duty safes that are a work of art on the outside, there's a gun safe for every application. As sad as it is, watch Tom from Secureit Gun Storage using a tool which only cost 10 bucks can get you into some of the heaviest gun safes. One...

Meanwhile, FBI officials said leftist gunman James Hodgkinson had more than 200 rounds of ammunition at a local storage unit when he attacked Republican lawmakers as they practiced for the annual Congressional baseball game. Timothy Slater, special agent in charge of the FBI Washington field office, said Hodgkinson, 66, had rented a storage unit in Alexandria started April 16, which he visited more than 43 times between April and June. Also, Hodgkinson visited the office of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in mid-April and emailed Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin, D-Ill., sometime between January 2017 and the shooting last week,...

Philando Castile did what you are supposed to do if you have a concealed-carry permit and get pulled over by police: He let the officer know he had a gun. Had Castile been less forthcoming, he would still be alive. Last Friday a Minnesota jury acquitted the cop who killed Castile of second-degree manslaughter, demonstrating once again how hard it is to hold police accountable when they use unnecessary force. The verdict also sends a chilling message to gun owners, since Castile is dead because he exercised his constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Jeronimo Yanez, an officer employed...

The Springfield Armory XDe 9mm combines a traditional trigger system with a polymer frame to offer a pistol that successfully melds old and new. While Springfield’s new XDe is branded as an extension of the popular XD line, it shares little with its erstwhile stablemates except for the use of a polymer frame. The previous XD pistols are striker-fired handguns, and with the XDe, the “e” stands for “external,” as-in external hammer. This hammer is mated with a traditional double-action/single action trigger system. The XDe also omits the grip safety found in the other XD pistols in favor of a...

The American edition, published in 1956, 468 pages, Translated by A.P. MaudsleyThe Diaz account is the best history book that I have read. It has all the advantage of a first person account and reads like a well written adventure novel. The Discovery and Conquest of Mexico by Bernal Diaz del Castillo is the only extant first person account of the campaign under the command of Hernando Cortez from 1519 to 1520. The campaign resulted in the discovery and conquest of the Aztec civilization in Mexico.Cortez himself wrote five long letters to Carlos V in Spain. Parts of them are...

I am a lifelong firearm enthusiast. I started shooting at 10 years old when my father got me a Crossman pump action air rifle with a four power Tasco scope. He was one of only three NRA training counselors in the state of Wisconsin for many years. I began shooting competitively through 4-H not long after, eventually shooting air rifle, air pistol, and shotgun trap through the program. After 4-H, I went on to shoot small-bore rifle in local competitions. Today, I own four firearms of various kinds, make time to shoot several thousand rounds per year, and am licensed...

The driver who attacked police on the Champs-Élysées on Monday had a permit to carry arms, sources close to the case have admitted, despite the fact he was on France’s terror watchlist for having been radicalized. The French PM says it’s “not satisfactory”. Sources close to the probe said the man, named as Adam Djaziri in the French press had been on France’s security watchlist since 2015 over ties to “the radical Islamist movement”. But the suspect’s father told AFP that his son “had a registered weapon; he practiced shooting”. A source close to the case said the 31-year-old had...

So the difference is that a pistol can fire one round at a time. Pop… pop… pop… Which is what the Capitol Hill Police were carrying. This individual had a rife, semiautomatic means that you can switch it to a point where it fires poppoppoppop. Multiple rounds. First off, everyone knows the correct sound effect is “pew pew pew.” Second, she’s not wearing camo and Oakley shades, everyone knows real firearms experts wear those. Can’t the media get anything right?

Some hope that the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and others last Wednesday will lead to more civility in politics. It’s clear that the attack was politically motivated — the Democratic shooter even carried a hit list of Republicans. The political viciousness has been everywhere. While some will blame the violence on the grotesque picture of Kathy Griffin holding the President’s severed head or a play where the president is being stabbed to death, this Sunday Jill Abramson, the former chief editor of the New York Times, told CNN that it was “President Trump and the congressional leadership...

The Internet and video games like "Call of Duty" often have us questioning what's actually real when it comes mind-boggling firearms and weapons. On the gun control debate, I’ll extend an olive branch. There are times when the left sort of makes sense about guns. For example, I think we can agree that terrorists should not get their hands on firearms, or at least make it hard for them to do so. Where they go off the hinges is when they try to use that argument to expand the grossly unconstitutional no-fly list program and bar Americans, who haven’t been convicted of any crimes, from being able to exercise their Second Amendment rights. How do you get on the list? How can you...

CD2 is a heavily Democrat Colorado Congressional district that includes Boulder, Colorado. Boulder is a very left leaning University town. The person who wins the Democrat primary will almost certainly win the Congressional seat. Shannon Watts owns property there. She may use her anti-rights work for Michael Bloomberg in an attempt to lever herself into Congress. On June 12, 2019 Shannon Watts said she was looking at running for the seat in 2018. From denverpost.com: Within hours of U.S. Rep. Jared Polis formally announcing his run for Colorado governor, two Democrats — Ken Toltz and Shannon Watts, both gun-control...

About 1,300 US children under the age of 17 die from gun-related injuries per year, a government study has found. Researchers at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also found that guns seriously wounded about 5,800 children each year. Boys accounted for 82% of all child firearm deaths while black children were 10 times more likely to be killed by a gun, according to the study. More than half of these deaths were homicides while 38% were ruled suicide. The study, published in Pediatrics on Monday, also found 6% of firearm-related deaths were fatalities from accidental gun...

Shotguns have been used for home defense for centuries in one form or another. But the real question is, what’s the best home defense load for your shotgun? Let’s figure it out. For a thug, nothing can be more terrifying than the sound of a pump action shotgun racking a shell into the chamber for sound deterrent? This will make even the most hardened criminals think twice. Obviously, sheer intimidation will not always solve your big problem. Well what do you feed your shotgun against your home invading foes? Well below are Remington 12 gauge shotgun shells opened up for...

WASHINGTON — A Republican congressman who survived the horrific baseball shooting will offer legislation this week to allow lawmakers to carry guns throughout the nation’s capital. “I’m going to be introducing legislation this week … to allow congressmen to carry a sidearm, should they so desire,” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” Members of Congress are “high-profile targets, but we have absolutely no way to defend ourselves because of Washington, DC’s rather restrictive gun laws.”

Australia has no Second Amendment, no Fourth Amendment, no Fifth Amendment, no First Amendment. There is strong tradition and law that searches shall require warrants, and that people will not be forced to testify against themselves. There are only a few rights actually protected by the Australian Constitution, and they are weakly protected. In the following story, the information that lead to the searches and arrests came from the United States. It wasn't about people purchasing anything illegal. It was about solvent traps. From smh.com.au: More than 80 illegally imported guns have been seized during raids across the country...
