The driver who attacked police on the Champs-Élysées on Monday had a permit to carry arms, sources close to the case have admitted, despite the fact he was on France’s terror watchlist for having been radicalized. The French PM says it’s “not satisfactory”.
Sources close to the probe said the man, named as Adam Djaziri in the French press had been on France’s security watchlist since 2015 over ties to “the radical Islamist movement”.
But the suspect’s father told AFP that his son “had a registered weapon; he practiced shooting”. A source close to the case said the 31-year-old had a firearms permit.
The fact he had an arms permit despite being on the terror watchlist has shocked many in France including the country’s prime minister Edouard Philippe, who suggested he’s only just found out such a situation could arise. …

Just give it time, eventually people will wake up and realize that any kind of coexistence with (m)uslims just doesn’t work out, it never has and never will and then there will be mayhem. Perhaps we may get along with a bad (m)uslim who doesn’t take his religion too serious. But getting along with anyone who really believes in this crap, will spell trouble down the road. As Winston Churchill stated many years ago “(i)slam is to humans what rabies is to dogs” and so far history has proven him right.
This is the paradox of police work. The perp could not be touched precisely BECAUSE he was being ‘watched’. If they had rolled him up on a weapons violation, they couldn’t watch him and his buddies.
The tragedy is that time & again the authorities miss the signs that something is in the works, and they never swing in an arrest before the crime is committed.
The antidote is to get these immigrants on this type of violation, and deport them if convicted. I don’t care if it’s for verbally assaulting a female on the streets. Out.

I don’t know the answer. With all the PC running amok everywhere, chances are VERY likely that W Europeans will just continue to die as the muslim population overcomes them over the decades.

My father was a contrary responder. If I said it was white, he would swear it was black. This contrarianism covered the entire spectrum of possible subjects. Dad’s responses, I think were caused by his Parkinson’s disease.
I notice this contrarianism in arguments put forward by liberals. An analysis I read of why liberals respond this way said, liberals are searching for a perfect world; utopia. They don’t know how to remold the present world into a utopia, but they do know that following the logical solutions laid down by generations of good leaders and thinkers did not result in them living in utopia today. Therefore, they respond to each situation with a diametrically opposing idea to the logical one. That way, surely, lies utopia.
Liberals, we are living in utopia. I think about this often as I wonder the aisles of Costco and Walmart admiring the thousands of nearly perfect products; most of which I can buy with a fractional hour of my labor. How much easier is it to clothe, feed and house ourselves today versus a million, a thousand or a hundred years ago? You can talk dirt about our elected leaders and then enjoy a Starbucks cappuccino made to your liking while you chat on a cell phone and conduct your banking online. No one will even yell back at your unhinged tirades. You, my friend, are already in utopia.

Liberals have no idea of the existence of an optimum point.
We are living near the optimum. Any movement away from it tends to move us down, not up.
Sure, there are things we should do to broaden the optimum a bit. Enforce the Constitution, move back toward locally responsible schools, let the old media die...
They are all happening, and they are all opposed by the left, because they involve strengthening the optimum rather than radical change.
The only flaw I see in your logic, is that it will be decades. If Europe doesn't do an immediate about face, we will not recognize them in one years time. Are we going to start bombing European city's in our continued fight against ISIS? That IS where a large number of them fled, or should I say retreated? If our aim is to kill them where we find them (Syria?)...Dresden Version 2.0. Will our renewed NATO Alliance demand it? Will NATO even have the sack to request it, or to deny it to US? A little food for thought.
