On April 22 Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton spoke to a Pennsylvania audience known for ties to hunting and shooting sports and said, “We can’t ignore the Second Amendment.” This comes after months of Clinton pushing universal background checks, an expansion of the instant background check system, more oversight on Federal Firearm License holders (FFLs), and a change in laws so that crime victims can sue gun sellers and manufacturers. In October Clinton also suggested the Australia gun ban is “worth looking at” for gun policy in the United States.

Until this year, though, his line did not include switchblades, "out the fronts" or butterfly knives, all long considered contraband on Wisconsin streets. His customers kept telling him they would be legal soon, McNeil recalled. "But I've been hearing that for 20 years." This time, it's true. In February, Gov. THE WOODLANDS, Texas - A person with a concealed handgun license tried to help stop a trio of thieves by opening fire at their getaway car in a store parking lot near The Woodlands Mall Friday afternoon. DEVELOPING: A shooter is on the loose after at least seven people, some of them children, were killed at three different crime scenes in southern Ohio Friday, local news agencies report.

On April 20, the Oklahoma Senate voted 37-9 to pass legislation recognizing that the Second Amendment is a sufficient open carry permit. The legislation, HB 3098, had already passed in the House by a vote of 73-15. According to News 9, the Senate passed the bill via “a procedural move that forces the bill into conference committee” for one final look before it heads to Governor Mary Fallin (R). The gun-control proposals that Mayor Mitch Landrieu will publicly announce on Friday (April 22) include restrictions on who can carry guns, as well as the places and manner in which guns can be carried. The measures would also outlaw guns without serial numbers and require gun-theft victims to notify police within 48 hours, according to a draft ordinance.

Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona signed HB 224, which protects the right to transfer firearms in private transactions, without fee, tax or encumbrance, into law on 30 March, 2016.  The law went into effect on 31 March.
