Rebel gunfire hit a U.S. military aircraft trying to evacuate American citizens caught in a remote region of South Sudan that on Saturday became a battle ground between the country's military and renegade troops, officials said. Four U.S. service members were wounded. The U.S. military aircraft were heading to Bor, the capital of the state of Jonglei and scene of some of the nation's worst violence over the last week. Four men have been arrested over the death of a lawyer shot in front of his wife during a carjacking outside a New Jersey mall last week, authorities said on Saturday. Atlas Air 747 Dreamlifter, a cargo plane that is a modified 747 that landed at the wrong airport on Wednesday. It is scheduled to try to take off Thursday even though the runway is considered too short for such a large plane. The cargo plane left New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport bound for McConnell Air Force Base.

A massive cargo plane bound for McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kan., from New York City landed at the wrong airport late Wednesday and is now temporarily stuck there.
