  • Tea Party Rejects IRS Apology, Republicans Vow Investigation

Conservative groups have rejected an Internal Revenue Service apology for unjustifiably scrutinizing tax-exempt conservative groups during the 2012 election cycle. The IRS apology has seemingly validated conservatives' fears of politically motivated regulation. House Republican leaders, meanwhile, have vowed to investigate. Lois Lerner, the director the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt organizations, said that organizations had been given additional scrutiny if their applications included the words "Tea Party" or "patriot." The practice originated with "low-level" employees in Cincinnati, according to an Associated Press report. In a press conference on Friday, Lerner called the actions of these employees "absolutely inappropriate." "They didn't...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for inappropriately flagging conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status. Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews. Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati, was wrong and she apologized while speaking at a conference in Washington. Many conservative groups complained during the election that they were being harassed by the...

Sources inside the Senate tell me that the Republican Conference is scared to death of the tactics of Senators Lee, Cruz and Paul – that it is supposedly putting them in a tough spot. Several of the Republicans are using the Manchin-Toomey compromise plan as an excuse to cave on the gun filibuster. They claim that Senators Lee, Cruz, and Paul are running ahead of the conference in their insistence on a filibuster. What they fail to see is that the cloture vote is the vote to stop the gun legislation from passage. Several Republican Senators intend to vote against...

A March 29 study conducted by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) shows that the federal government forks over $42.6 billion dollars in reckless spending at a time when the United States borrows 40 percent of what it spends. Additionally, the staggering waste occurs during a recessionary period of 8 percent unemployment and nearly 47 million Americans (or 15 percent of the population) now relying on food stamps.

Contradicting previous statements, Obama told George Stephanopoulos of ABC News this morning that neither he nor his staff had anything to do with closing the public out of the White House. As President Barack Obama delivered the State of the Union address, activists involved in his new non-profit advocacy group, Organizing for Action, gathered in local meetings around the country to watch and cheer him on. The new 501(c)4 organization, which is an offshoot of his re-election campaign, aims to support the president’s policies and to project the power of the White House beyond Washington into local communities and media. I joined a gathering in southern California, which rented out a local pub and tuned in on the big screen. The buildup to the event was almost as interesting as the...

Drone Wars: A government memo concludes the U.S. can order the killing of American citizens believed to be tied to al-Qaida, with the White House acting as judge, jury and executioner. Gee, what about due process? Those of us who remember the condemnation and scorn heaped on President George W. Bush by liberals and civil libertarians for his post-9/11 security measures are bemused by the Obama administration's official declaration of the right to kill Americans abroad through the use of drone strikes. Wall Street Journal: Senate Democratic leaders expect a gun bill to move to the Senate floor that includes most of the proposals backed by President Barack Obama, with the notable exception of a ban on military-style, semiautomatic weapons, a top aide to Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said. The bill would likely seek to limit the capacity of ammunition magazines; expand background checks to include sales at gun shows and...

By any standard, white voters’ rejection of Democrats in November’s elections was daunting and even historic. Fully 60 percent of whites nationwide backed Republican candidates for the House of Representatives; only 37 percent supported Democrats, according to the National Election Poll exit poll conducted by Edison Research. Not even in Republicans’ 1994 congressional landslide did they win that high a percentage of the white vote. Moreover, those results may understate the extent of the white flight from the Democratic Party, according to a National Journal analysis of previously unpublished exit-poll data provided by Edison Research. Like many political Americans, right or left or center, I'm still grappling with what President Obama did this week.  I'm trying to get a handle on what it means not so much for the country and the economy, but rather for Barack Obama. Jerome Corsi has done the work of ten police detectives during his investigation to discover Barack Obama’s history, for which the President has spent millions of dollars to conceal from the People and the Press. Corsi’s travels have taken him as far as Kenya, where he was once taken into custody by Kenyan authorities a few years back, and deported before he could gather any birth records and interview potential witnesses which might exist there. Today he published a copyrighted story at WorldNetDaily that relates in detail exactly how members of Congress were provided material by the Congressional Research Service...

“Be Prepared” must be the two most commonsense words known to humanity. And in times like these, being prepared is survival. The NGOs (non-government organizations) already unleashed in France, Germany, England and Greece will soon be taking to the streets in America, George Soros-described as “the biggest obstacle to One World Government”. NGOs, long fomenting for revolution, and on the payrolls of the One World Order deadly duo George Soros and Maurice Strong, are not the good guys. The political, strategic spawn of Soros and Strong, they are the paid agents of change, looking to Barack Obama to get the...

Specifically on the White House scandal again – I was told a report was coming soon. Something from a mainstream media outlet. Have you heard something similar? Where did you hear that? Your newspaper days coming back to you now? Just something I heard – reliably. Have you heard anything similar? (pause) Yes. Many people have. This thing is percolating just under the surface right now. Sooner – not later, the pot is gonna start boiling. Yeah, someone is about to test the waters with this thing. I’ve heard that. Then again, I’ve heard that for a while now, so...

REPEAL THE 26TH AMENDMENT!November 10, 2010 Jimmy Carter was such an abominable president we got Ronald Reagan, tax cuts, a booming economy and the destruction of the Soviet Union. Two years of Bill Clinton and a Democratic Congress got us the first Republican Congress in half a century, followed by tax cuts, welfare reform and a booming economy –- all of which Clinton now claims credit for. Obama's disastrous presidency has already produced Republican senators from Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Illinois; New Jersey's wonder-governor Chris Christie; and the largest House majority for Republicans since 1946. We deserve more. Clinton only...

Government Workers Making $150,000+ Have Doubled Under President Obama Gregory White Nov. 10, 2010, 3:18 PM Image: The White HOuse Salaries for Federal workers have soared since President Obama took office in 2009, with the number of workers making $150,000 or more doubling, according to USA Today (via the Atlantic). The real winners here: those government workers employed for 15 to 24 years. That doesn't jive well with the deficit commission's plans for a 10% cut in Federal jobs by 2015. Or perhaps it does, as the deficit commission may be able to reach its cost cutting aims with fewer...

"I don't think you hear me. I don't think you understand. Glenn Beck is hurting Mr. Soros and his business,"  was the message delivered to Beck via a front man for George Soros.Though certainly a silkier  warning compared to crudeness of Mexican drug cartels with their  fondness for  special delivery of a human head delivered in a suitcase, in George Soros' world, the inference is equally chilling. If Glenn Beck was frightened, troubled or disturbed by the ominous message, it didn't show.  Beck used the warning, told as a personal story,as a mere post script to his first segment...
