Lies passed ObamaCare legislation, lies supported its implementation. As its death spiral begins, angry and panicked lies by Democratic apologists attempt to deflect accountability for its economic devastation. ObamaCare’s economic wreckage will insure President Barack Obama’s now classic promises regarding ObamaCare will eventually scar his legacy. History is written usually by the victors. In the case of ObamaCare, the economic losers are so numerous their bitter complaints will write the titles, fill the chapters and pack the footnotes. …

Donald Trump called Obamacare a “catastrophic event” at a rally Wednesday in Ohio, telling supporters that insurance premium hikes have exposed the lies President Obama relied on to promote the health care law. Mr. Trump said Mr. Obama also lied to voters when they would be able to keep their health care plans and their doctors. “They have caught him in a lot of lies lately, folks,” Mr. Trump said. “Hillary Clinton, talking about liars, wants to double down … on Obamacare and make it even worse.” Mr. Trump pledged to repeal and replace Obamacare with a new law that...

President Barack Obama is telling workers and volunteers signing up customers for health insurance coverage that the enrollment season comes at a critical time in the Affordable Care Act’s history. […] Some insurers have bailed out of markets and premiums are jumping in many states. But Obama says government tax credits will offset the premium increases for most consumers. He says people will be pleasantly surprised at just how affordable their options are, if they shop around. …

Stop whining, cheapos. As you probably know, Ezekiel Emanuel served as a health care policy adviser during Obama’s first term and was instrumental in the creation of ObamaCare. He’s also the creepy gentleman who thinks 75 is the proper age to die. As Obama’s “signature legislation” endures an easily-envisioned and oft-predicted implosion, Emanuel’s been making the rounds playing defense. He wants to make sure you know a few things. 1. The massive rate hikes caused by the law are not that big. You’re just imagining things. Sure, you can rattle off a list of states where the increases are anywhere...
  • True Catastrophic Health Insurance Options

    10/26/2016 10:05:12 AM PDT · by Degaston · 14 replies
Ok folks, where can we find true catastrophic health insurance? I'm looking for a low cost option that will preferably have a 25K-30K deductible, do the traditional exclusions, and provide real protection in case some catastrophic health event occurs. Specifically I'm in the Republic of Texas, which might have to secede from the Union if this baloney doesn't change :( Oh yes it will not be "Affordable Care Act" (ACA) compliant. But with premiums rising through the roof that law is now essentially a 2.5% tax on anyone healthy by the year 2018. Can you say "Oh Bum No Care"?...

When the Affordable Care Act's fourth open enrollment period starts next week, many Lehigh Valley participants will notice a sharp spike in premiums. In Pennsylvania, the average price for the benchmark second-lowest-cost silver plan for a 27-year-old is going up 53 percent, according to a report issued Monday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. That's nearly four times the rate of increase nationally.

The neverending saga of how the "Affordable Care Act" (aka ObamaCare) is making its mark in the USA continues. The politicians had promised that it would result in lower costs. So where do we stand now? Just 22 months ago I was on the "Bronze HMO 006" plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas with a monthly premium of 193.07. In 2015 the premium changed to 226.57 and in 2016 it changed to 286.29. Today I see on http://www.healthcare.gov that for 2017 its going to be 438.10 per month. That is a hike of 126.9%. Its also a year-over-year...

Oct 24 (Reuters) - The average premium for benchmark 2017 Obamacare insurance plans sold on Healthcare.gov rose 25 percent compared with 2016, the U.S. government said on Monday, the biggest increase since the insurance first went on sale in 2013 for the following year. The average monthly premium for the benchmark plan is rising to $302 from $242 in 2016, the Department of Health and Human Services said. The agency attributed the large increase to insurers adjusting their premiums to reflect two years of cost data that became available.

Five states—Alabama, Alaska, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wyoming—will have only one insurance company offering plans through the Obamacare health insurance exchange in 2017, according to an analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation. “In states that use Healthcare.gov, the average number of insurers participating in the marketplace will be 3.9 in 2017 (down from 5.4 companies per state in 2016, 5.9 in 2015 and 4.5 in 2014),” said KFF. Donald Trump declared Tuesday that “Obamacare is just blowing up,” hoping for powerful late-campaign ammunition against Hillary Clinton after the government projected sharp cost increases for President Barack Obama’s health care program. Just two weeks before Election Day, the New York businessman addressed the health care development during an appearance at one of his Florida golf resorts that highlighted the extraordinary intersection of his business and political interests. His message was somewhat scattershot, leaving questions of how well he and his party can capitalize on a revived emphasis on “Obamacare.” …

Robert Creamer, founder and partner of Democracy Partners, the group behind the organized violence at Trump rallies, as shown in the video by James O’Keefe and Project Veritas, is no ordinary agitator. Creamer, a convicted felon, is arguably the spiritual godfather of ObamaCare and much of the current progressive left agenda. Creamer, along with his wife, Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky is no stranger to agitation, violence, and expanding the progressive agenda. As Investor’s Business Daily pointed out in March 5, 2010 editorial regarding protests against House Ways and Means Chairman Dan Rostenkowski over the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988,...

Dr. Quentin Young, Longtime Obama Confidante and Physician to MLK [Martin Luther King]FROM "THE OBAMA FILE"...RE: QUENTIN YOUNGThe primary figure who delivered Obama to the single-payer camp was Quentin Young, an 86-year-old retired physician who was a longtime friend and neighbor of Obama in Chicago.  Young joined the Young Communist League as a teenager in the late 1930s.  From the mid-1940s through the mid-1970s, he was closely associated with the Communist Party.  In October 1968 he was called to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which was probing the extent of his knowledge about the riots that had erupted at...

President Barack Obama blamed partisanship for the lingering discontent around his signature health care law, the Affordable Care Act, during his latest pitch on the benefits of the law to millennials at Miami Dade College in Florida. But Obama also admitted that there are problems with the law that need to be addressed, including costly premiums and persistent gaps in coverage. “Part of the problem is a Democratic President named Barack Obama passed the law,” the president said to cheers. “But just because a lot of the Republican criticism has proven to be false doesn’t mean that there aren’t legitimate...

President Barack Obama offers multiple excuses for why health insurance premiums continue to skyrocket, including blaming Republicans and insurance companies for the problems. He complains that too many reporters spend more time discussing premium increases than explaining why he isn’t responsible for them. “No, I had nothing to do with that,” Obama said, calling it “complicated” despite the “hysteria” that was growing. Obama traveled to Florida to argue that Obamacare was working well, but needed to be fixed

Remember when Sarah Palin was excoriated for suggesting that ObamaCare contained death panels? Then we learned that the nonexistent death panels were actually deleted from the law and then, oops, economist Paul Krugman let slip that "...we're also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits. So the snarky version... which I shouldn't even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this [.]" Such is the usual seesaw when a law which should never have seen the...

Minnesota's Democratic governor said Wednesday that the Affordable Care Act is "no longer affordable," a stinging critique from a state leader who strongly embraced the law just a few years ago. Gov. Mark Dayton made the comments while addressing questions about Minnesota's fragile health insurance market, where individual plans are facing double-digit increases after all insurers threatened to exit the market entirely in 2017. They follow cost concerns and criticism nationwide, including President Bill Clinton saying last week that the law was "the craziest thing in the world" before he backtracked.

Once was a shock. Twice was an outrage. Thrice is a nightmare that won't end. Over the past three years, my family's private, individual health insurance plan -- a high-deductible Preferred Provider Organization -- has been canceled three times. Our first death notice, from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, arrived in the fall of 2013. Our second, from Rocky Mountain Health Plans, came last August. Three weeks ago, we received another ominous "notice of plan discontinuation" from Anthem informing us that the insurer "will no longer offer your current health plan in the State of Colorado." Every time we...
