I am a member of the New/Paleo Right, as are many here on Free Republic. And I know many of us wonder: Where are the neocons? Where are those who will force us to engage logically as we, jointly, refine our perspectives of the day? What is YOUR opinion of the events of the last week and what do you think the rest of us are missing? With all sincerity, Mariner

Police in New Jersey have officially crossed the [thin blue] line and literally attempted to confiscate guns from an army veteran without a warrant. But it didn’t go as planned, because Leonard Cottrell Jr. refused to comply with the orders of the cops. Eventually, all gun confiscation will be carried out by the police; who of “don’t make the laws, they just enforce them,” and Cottrell found this out the hard way. After serving two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom overseas, Cottrell found himself at end of the state’s tyrannical oppression and gun elimination scheme.

With jury selection slated to start next Tuesday, US District Judge Robert E. Jones suddenly moved today to dismiss two of the five counts against FBI Agent W. Joseph Astarita. Astarita is accused of lying about shooting at Oregon Standoff protestor LaVoy Finicum moments before Oregon State Police killed him. Jones dropped one of two counts of making a false statement saying Astarita's flippant remark to a supervisor who asked "Did you shoot?"...

CNN analyst and former CIA intelligence official Philip Mudd wondered aloud Monday when a shadow government will emerge to oppose President Donald Trump following a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.

Just how laughably pathetic do the leftwing Democrats who loudly introduced a bill to abolish ICE appear after they now have to backtrack in embarrassment to oppose it since Republicans agreed to bring it to the floor of the House for a vote? So pathetic that even the leftist website Vox is mocking the Democrats for putting themselves in such a bind as to look completely foolish. This mockery of the 'Abolish ICE' Democrats by Ella Nilson and Tara Golshan appears in the July 13 Vox as Democrats aren’t ready to actually vote for an “Abolish ICE” bill. The subtitle summarizes...

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed talk of Russian influence on the 2016 U.S. election as “utterly ridiculous,” but said that only facts were leaked following the hacking of Democratic groups. Fox News host Chris Wallace was asking Putin about special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment Friday of 12 Russian military intelligence officers accused of hacking a number of Democratic officials as part of the Russian effort to tip the 2016 election in President Trump’s favor. “Do you really believe that someone acting from the Russian territory could have influenced the United States and influenced the choice of millions of Americans?” Putin...

In the simplest and potentially most effective clapback tweet of all time, Hillary Clinton blasted Trump for his Putin presser in Helsinki with four simple words: "well, now we know." The tweet was a followup to one she had posted about Trump the day before his trip to the summit, saying, "Great World Cup. Question for President Trump as he meets Putin: Do you know which team you play for?" Clinton's response to her own tweet (that we all now "know" which team Trump plays for) was a clearly barbed acknowledgement of Trump's now infamous behavior at the summit, in...

You gotta love Mossad. Agents snuck into a warehouse smack in the middle of Tehran last January and, in a 6 1/2-hour operation, managed to steal 100,000 documents that Israel says prove Iran was lying about their nuclear weapons program. Wall Street Journal: The Israeli team secretly reached the warehouse holding the materials and broke in during a tight time window when it knew the building would be unguarded, the officials said. To avoid drawing attention to the nondescript facility, Iran hadn’t posted full-time guards, they said, but rather relied on alarm systems that the Israeli agents disabled. The Israeli...

When a killer whale drowned and dismembered a trainer at a SeaWorld park in Florida in 2010, federal labor officials fined the park $12,000 and required protective measures — over the objection of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who predicted in a written opinion that the next step would be a ban on tackling in pro football.

I just turned off the local news in northern California where they just spend 20 minutes ripping on Trump and the summit. Trump is treasonous, weakening our defense, selling out our allies, siding with the enemy, etc.. The story that followed was about registering illegals aliens to vote. Seems in CA (Crazy America) illegals are allowed to register and vote for certain offices in local elections (The one they were specifically talking about was the local school board.). They were hopeful that someday illegals would be free to vote in wider elections. How can anyone lament foreign influence in an...

During the July 2018 NATO summit, elements of the USA newsmedia focused on President Trump’s accurate attacks on Western Europe’s contradictory actions and positions in the arenas of defense and commerce. What the USA newsmedia covered much less was how welcome those points were to NATO members from Eastern Europe, whose memories of Russian aggression are much more recent, perhaps, than those of Western Europe, making them as wary of these issues as Mr. Trump is. Delegates from Poland, Lithuania, and Romania, for example, appeared just as happy about Mr. Trump’s comments as delegates from England, France and especially Germany...

Two Democratic lawmakers are pressing for legislation that crack down on the use of so-called "gay panic" and "trans panic" defenses in federal court. The Gay and Trans Panic Defense Prohibition Act of 2018 was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) and in the House by Rep. Joe Kennedy (D-Mass.). The measure seeks to curtail the use of a controversial legal defense aimed at reducing penalties for people who claim that they committed violent crimes against gay or transgender people, because of the person's sexuality or gender identity caused them to "panic." "Sexual orientation or gender identity...

Tuesday’s cover of The New York Daily News depicts President Trump shooting Uncle Sam in the head after his jaw-dropping summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The cover of Trump’s hometown newspaper shows the president holding the hand of a shirtless Putin while holding shooting the classic symbol of American democracy on 5th Avenue in New York, a nod to Trump’s infamous 2016 claim that he could shoot someone "in the middle of 5th Avenue" and not lose support. “I have the most loyal people, did you ever see that? I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and...

To Ronald Reagan and his entourage, the summit meeting in Iceland looked like the perfect photo opportunity. Three weeks before the midterm elections, Reagan would be pictured shaking hands with the smiling Russian in his Fifties fedora. The president would be portrayed in the media as an earnest peacemaker, diligently searching for ways to end the nuclear-arms race. This time, though, the photos turned out badly. When he emerged from his bargaining sessions with Mikhail Gorbachev, the president looked stung, like a small boy who had burned his fingers playing with a light socket. Reagan came home empty-handed from Iceland,...

Chris Wallace: Is he or is he not a d--k? Handing Putin the paper of indictments and Putin is supposed to take it? Interruptions. Then the Bret Baers had to call it something it was not-blowing their own horn. Bunch of self serving idiots. Just like the rest of them.
