Eisegesis? Ken Ham gets to the heart of the debate about the six days of creation. If we read from what the biblical text says (exegesis), it allows only one interpretation-six 24-hour days of Creation. Any other interpretation is eisegesis (when people”read into” the Bible).

It was days. Not years or ages.

Belief in God is faith based, not scientific beyond a shadow of a doubt based. For the naysayers that decry that God is being deceptive making the universe seem older, how else was he supposed to do it? Unless accelerated, the rays from distant stars would never reach us and the sky would be black. As far as carbon dating, the existing carbon would have to be determined accurately as well as all conditions affecting deterioration (such as changing atmospheres after the Flood and other factors). Six days means six days.

Pointless to debate because you will never know till you die and ask G_d.
Assuming he has the time to answer you.

Well, God is everlasting to everlasting. So, your work on behalf of the devil does you harm. Bad council confounds the adviser.

We have here a very painful (and juvenile spirited) begging of a question that has occupied serious theologians for not just centuries but millennia.

And the specifics of the answer seem to mostly occupy those who want to glorify their personal takes on religion and not God at all.

We might not even have enough information to settle the question in a “scientific” manner. Theological arguments can be made for both old and young earth creation views.

What is less appreciated is that we have no reason to believe any Darwinistic account of the appearance of life on earth, even at the old earth extreme. The YEC crowd sometimes thinks it is the superman with the evolution-vanquishing power, not realizing plain vanilla “old earth” science would suffice to do that if the Darwinists didn’t have an agenda.

According to the wall calendar He created on His 4th Day (sun, moon, stars), today actually is His 4th Day.

The world. led by a calendar named after pope Gregory, names today after some false god named Tiw..

Amazing...
Prophetic...

It was ages. And furthermore, whether it was billions of years or a week does not matter a whit to the message of Jesus and to our salvation.
Jesus never said you must believe 6 days to go to heaven. This is a silly parlor game like how many angels can dance on a pin.

This old testament stuff really doesn’t matter. Beyond curiosity, all you need is found in the new.

That’s the level that some of this discussion goes on at.

And it is sad beyond belief.

It all matters. The problem is that people are expecting the bible to be a science textbook. It isn’t.

Denying the word of God is not wise

look at the order of Creation

if those were ages, how many thousands of years did we have life on Earth when there was no sun?

God created LIGHT before He created stars and the Sun

You are the one with the problem explaining those things, all I have to do is trust God
