South Africa is slowly but surely approaching the Mugabe model for its white farmers, and the white population generally. The only question is, why are they considering Russia rather than the US or Europe? These, some of the hardest working and most productive farmers and land managers in the world, are the sort of legitimate refugees we should be welcoming to the US and Europe. Instead, the "refugees" we get are indigents and thugs from Central America or the Middle East.

One of South Africa’s neighbors, I think it’s Zambia, has actually been encouraging white farmers to move there.

Because there’s a lot of racists in the US who hate whites.

I would choose Australia over Russia.

Occam's Razor Answer: The ag lobby in the US doesn't want them here. Can't stand new competition.
To: ek_hornbeck
They would be stupid to come here. They would be the “white racists from South Africa” as soon as they stepped off the plane.

Good. All Whites need to get out of that $hithole. Let it become the savage hellhole it was before Whitey arrived and tried in vain to teach them a little civilization. They will go back to killing each other and walking around with bones in their noses, all the while blaming their self-induced failures on Whitey.
Ask me what I think.

Because demographics show that we are moving in the same direction as SA.

my mother (89) said her father was the greatest farmer in their area, he had moved from a Tennessee Valley Project that took their land so they went to Texas. All the farmers followed his lead and questioned him on what and when to plant. All the kids left the farm and no one farms any longer - I often think of there were how many 100’s or 1000 years of farming experience that is gone in two generations.

I suspect they can access tracts of farmland for a song in Russia compared to costs in the US. As for South Africa, if this plays out, I see famine in their future.
To: ek_hornbeck
The only question is, why are they considering Russia rather than the US or Europe? And what would they do here? One hundred thousand dollars wouldn't buy them a suburban house, much less lease a farm.

Russia is probably actively courting them. Russias population growth has been stagnant for the last 30 years. Plus, the SA farmers will bring their expertise with them.

Maybe they know they are not the “diversity” US/EU are desperately seeking.

Many years ago I visited the south of Russia, the Kuban region near the Sea of Azov, with a small group. Excellent climate. And while touring we could see the deep black topsoil exposed in road cuts. Reminded me of what you see driving through Wisconsin countryside. They’ll do well if they set up there. And if they like Caviar, the Azov Sea has lots of Sturgeon fishing.
