Sen. Jeff Flake on Sunday did not rule out launching a Republican primary challenge to President Trump in 2020 and said he does hope a GOP alternative to Mr. Trump emerges for the next presidential election.

The same fantasy world in which Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Lindsey Graham, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry, and Marco Rubio were serious and “viable” Republican candidates for President in 2016. The same fantasy world in which Dennis Hastert, John Boehner and Paul Ryan served as Republican Speaker of the House and Bill Frist an Mitch McConnell served as Senate Majority Leader. The same fantasy world in which GOP Senator Richard Burr has the title of Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee but allows Democrat Senator Mark Warner to run the committee’s investigation into Russian meddling in the Trump campaign.
Flake’s fantasy world is the real world of the globalist elites who have run the Republican Party since 1988 and will continue to work tirelessly with the Democrats to thwart the efforts of the current president. No doubt Flake is being well rewarded financially for his efforts and will enjoy lucrative corporate board assignments, book deals, and speaking engagement after he retires from the Senate.
