Sen. Jeff Flake on Sunday did not rule out launching a Republican primary challenge to President Trump in 2020 and said he does hope a GOP alternative to Mr. Trump emerges for the next presidential election.

Just because he is so popular in AZ.
He quit because he knew full well GOP primary voters were going to fire him this year had they gotten the chance, and indeed Flake himself even said as much. So in what fantasy world is a guy like that a viable national candidate? Especially when you consider that no incumbent President in U.S. history has ever lost his own party primary while seeking reelection.
Why not run as a Dem?
It is VITAL that Jeff Flake run, and RUN HARD.
His humiliation is not yet complete.
Maybe he will get two votes. I say maybe because I’m not sure about his wife.

Isn’t there a federal law against anyone named Flake running for president?

Flake comes from Old Money, so he could get started on his own. If he steps into the ring, Jeff will have many RINO republicans willing to donate or talk about donating to him.
If John McCain is still alive and still pretending to be terminal (therefore above all criticism), he would croak out a hearty endorsement.
George Will and Bill Kristol will sing his praises on TV, saying “America is BACK!!”
And, of course if he ever became a serious challenge to Trump (highly unlikely!) Jeff Flake could expect a phone call from the offices of George Soros, wanting to donate as well.

I guess by now, that we all recognize the Jeff really is a flake. He is so butt hurt, that he has to make outrageous statements like this to make himself feel that he is still relevant..
Public humiliation might be good for the Flake.

Flake has been planning his 2020 presidential run for long before Donald Trump came on the scene.
Trump is just a speed bump on Flake’s road to the White House.
That’s what the whole Flake’s fake Trump opposition is all about.
It’s just very hard for people to grasp because in Flake’s ambitious mind he sees Trump as a bitter rival for a position which nobody else even sees Flake as a viable candidate
