7:55 a.m. Surgery has begun. Prayers up!
9:30 am. First update states she is doing great, everything going well, first side of brain is complete and surgery has begun on the other side. Keep prayers going!

From Sophia’s website - I just found this. I had checked all afternoon but found this AFTER the note from this morning. I was looking for it at the top.. Great news and Sophia is still showing spirit. I don’t know what that one sentence means about defiance but probably her mom wrote what she wanted and one of those great machines (phone)decided to change it...Don’t know but this is GOOD!
~~~~~12:15 p.m. The surgery is complete! Sophia is now in ICU recovery. She has opened her eyes to family members and smiled.
In typical Sophia style she has made her signature move of saying ”Still alive!” while giving a thumbs up. She created move in defiance to doctors when she turned four years old and so many predicted she would not live to that age.
She will sleep for most of today but staff says she is doing great.
God hears prayers!! Praise Him and thank you for joining us in prayer!
We will continue to post her progress and add photos of her time here at Boston Children’s Hospital. Thank you Dr. Superman you have lived up to your nickname!~~~~~

I heard Ms. Sander's comments live on XM as I was heading out on the road...it was beautiful, touching, uplifting, even joyous, given Sophia's faith and extraordinary spirit.
May God bless her and all with her and near her.
POTUS lifted this precious child to the Heavens, to be blessed and kept by our Father.

SATURDAY JANUARY 27, 2018
:::8:30 a.m. Sophia spent most of yesterday sleeping but woke very early due to pain. The staff was quick to get her comfortable.
Today will be harder for her due to the swelling from surgery and anesthesia wearing off. Today will be spend resting and keeping her comfortable.
After our prayers this morning she asked if people prayed for her yesterday. I tried to explain the reaction the world has had to her prayer request but her little mind still can’t quite grasp the magnitude of her impact.
She said “Tell everyone hi and I love them.”
Your continued prayers and messages are encouraging to her and our entire family.
We understand everyone is seeking more details and updates. We will try to post more, however, like yesterday, our focus is on her recovery. When she is ready we promise to post more about when she will share details about this journey.:::
