It is because the ballot images are timestamped. Alabama law does not authorize the retention of that information for good reason, to protect the anonymity of the ballot. It is already a matter of public record who voted and where they voted. Being able to attach a specific time to a specific ballot significantly erodes the anonymity of the voter. To demonstrate this, recall the last time you voted. How many of your fellow citizens were voting at the same time as you?And even if there are multiple people voting at the same time, their anonymity is destroyed if they all voted the same way. So that is why.

What on Earth made them declare Moore the winner before any results had even been announced? Dewey Defeats Truman, Part II.

The signatures don’t have a time stamp. Is there video of when people come in? The only people who would possibly be able to connect the dots are election workers who knew the people as they came in.

So in exchange for the very, very remote possibility that an election worker might be allowed to look at the individual images and just might remember who came in when, they would destroy the records so that there is no assurance that ANY of the votes are valid?

Sad.

I’d much rather have an election I could trust for being accurate than have it 100% guaranteed that the 2 election workers in my hometown wouldn’t be able to figure out who I voted for, if they were allowed to look at the data that they would never even ask to see - and that NOBODY wold even see unless there had to be a recount or it was suspected that the election was NOT accurate.

Pathetic.

**********

Define ‘them’ if you will. I think the declaration came from
some news source/paper, etc and not from any Alabama Official.

“What on Earth made them declare Moore the winner before any results had even been announced?”

It was the “sweeps” the election that was truly foolish. OAN should have just said their “forecast indicates a Moore win”. That leaves some walking back room, at least.

>>>Get it through your head that NOT many voters vote using PAPER BALLOTS any more. Most use machines which involve NO PAPER record.

All Alabama counties use optical scanners to record votes cast on paper ballots.

It just requires that the poll signature logs be examined.

I guess more people than we thought believed the charges, at least some of them.

It’s all very confusing the way the media told the story, and I think deliberately confusing.

For example, the one girl who said she was only 14, and her and Moore were in their underwear and she was being fondled hurt the most.

The yearbook girl is a liar, and I think most people—who heard at least one alternative news source, did not believe. But did they????

How many only heard the big media stories? And Fox News was ONE of them.

Also, the media confabulated all the stories into one, saying “8 accusers” when reality, there was only 2, and one of them was full of it.

But without being FReepers, many earnest Christians felt real cautious over the allegations. In other words, they worked. The story still comes down to how news is gotten to people. Most don’t come here, or even read a single story on any Internet site. Everything they know comes from radio and television news, and/or the newspaper.

Thank God he is doing this and while he’s at it would he please file suit against Gloria and his accusers?

He'll never file suit against his accusers and I think we all know why.

For what it's worth to you....

http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/news/politics/2017/12/12/alabama-wont-keep-digital-voting-records-after-special-election/944775001/

Digital scans of the ballots cast in Alabama's special
election will not be stored after the polls close Tuesday.

That decision came down from the Alabama Supreme Court which
issued a stay Monday, the day prior to the election,
overturning a same-day circuit court decision that had
required the state to preserve all digital voting records
post-election.

Currently, the paper ballots are saved for 22 months after
federal elections and six months after local elections.

.
Checking scanned serial numbers of ballots for duplication.

This is one of the most common forms of election fraud.

Moore would have to come up with some kind of evidence that it had occurred.

The absentee ballots have not been counted yet, and it will be after Dec 22-Jan ? before those numbers are known. The recount would come, IF AFTER THE ABSENTEE BALLOTS, there is a .5% gap between candidates!

No, it does not look like the military vote will give Moore a win, and it is questionable whether it will get to .5% automatic recount. However, it is NOT over until last vote is counted....January 2018!

Not claiming anything, just noting that this election is not over until Jan 2018, and every vote is counted, and if it comes to .5% margin, each vote will be recounted! Simple, not complicated!

It can all be done digitally, and all it takes is a court order.

It’s good to keep hope alive, I suppose.

Maybe they had a vote or die on Dec 12 sign in Macon County just like the one found in Dallas County today. I regret that I am technologically illiterate as to how to transfer a picture sent to me in a text on my phone to my laptop then to FR.

The smaller print explanation below that main line referred to “the lost rights and benefits”, probably meaning that mean old Moore would take them away and make them starve.

Could not believe the blatant intimidation with that sign.
Goes along with the “he is a pervert” mailings. By the time the mailing arrived the accusation had been debunked...but one side of the mailer only showed a pair of shoes amidst a black background with the quote, “he wore brown hush puppy shoes”. Must of scared those suburban soccer moms good. Again, blatantly intimidating women.

The follow-up mailer was full of trashy quotes.
