Don’t be hoodwinked by his casual demeanour and capitalism rants – Michael Moore’s millions make him one of the richest men in American media. Film-maker Moore, 60, made his name for anti-establishment politics with Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) and Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) – accruing a multi-million dollar fortune in the process. Moore’s impressive property portfolio was laid bare during divorce proceedings from his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Glynn. The political controversialist finalised his split from 58-year-old Glynn on Tuesday in a US court in northern Michigan, where the couple owns a £1.2m lakeside home. The 10,000 square-foot luxury...

In any discussion about the future of religion in America, especially as it relates to stalled growth in churches and denominations, those outside our religious communities find one theory especially compelling. This is the idea: that young Evangelicals are frustrated with Christian orthodoxy’s strict standards of sexual morality. We’re told that these young Evangelicals will soon revolutionize our churches with liberalized views on same-sex marriage, premarital sex, gender identity, and so on. But a new study by a University of Texas sociologist finds that Evangelical Christians ages 18 to 39 are resisting liberalizing trends in the culture. The suggestion of...

UNE 5--With his divorce trial looming, Michael Moore is battling his wife over the valuation of the couple’s assets, while branding her a spendthrift who “unilaterally wasted a large percentage of the marital funds” building a lakefront mansion that has prompted mocking news stories about the activist filmmaker’s wealth. Moore and Kathleen Glynn are scheduled for trial next month in a Michigan courtroom not far from the sprawling Torch Lake residence that the Hollywood power contends became a money pit that cost five times what his wife claimed she would spend on the home.

From time to time we hear some telling us that evangelical Christianity must retool our sexual ethic if we're ever going to reach the next generation. Some say that Millennials, particularly, are leaving the church because of our "obsession" with sexual morality. The next generation needs a more flexible ethic, they say, on premarital sex, homosexuality, and so on. We'll either adapt, the line goes, or we'll die. This argument is hardly new. In the early 20th century, this was precisely the rhetoric used by liberal Protestant Harry Emerson Fosdick and his co-laborers. Fosdick was concerned, he said, for the...

Christianity began in the East, not the West, yet today Christians in the East are enduring an all-out-assault by Islamic terrorists, while Christians in the West live their lives largely oblivious to it all. This has to change. This is no imaginary persecution; in Syria alone there have been reports of kidnappings, Christian communities intentionally displaced by militants and, worst of all, shootings and beheadings of Christians who refused to convert to Islam. In Egypt radicals have recently destroyed dozens of churches, and the once vibrant Christian population in Iraq has been decimated. Christians in the West should stand up...

Michael Moore, the habitual liar, has taken to the New York Times to declare that "Obamacare is awful," yet also a "godsend." Writing an article in the NYT, entitled “The Obamacare we deserve," Moore denounced the President’s signature legislation, then encouraged it. The law’s awfulness is the Left’s “dirty little secret,” Moore says. He continued that, instead of righteously blaming “corporations” for much of the problems, Democrats instead over-promised and under-delivered. Eventually, Moore reveals the law’s “fatal flaw:” I believe Obamacare’s rocky start — clueless planning, a lousy website, insurance companies raising rates, and the president’s telling people they could...

Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. In his new movie, Fahrenheit 9/11, Michael Moore reviews the Bush administration’s publicly stated rationale for the war against terrorism in Afghanistan – it was part of the U.S. response to the attacks of September 11, 2001 – and then suggests that the real reason for the war was, at least in part, to enable Unocal to proceed with a natural gas pipeline project in Afghanistan and for other U.S. energy and oil-service companies to participate in various projects in that country. Unocal has absolutely no intention of participating in an Afghanistan pipeline project nor are we in discussions with...

Moore yesterday. More Moore today. Michael Moore got his start interviewing an empty chair (see picture above). So maybe he's mad at Clint Eastwood for stealing his shtick. But he hardly has room for calling Clint "delusional" and "detached from reality." (Come to think of it, Mike hardly has room. Period.) But hypocrisy has never stopped the Left. We know that's Clint's performance art, interviewing President Emptychair, must have really struck a nerve. And so they want to disparage his speech as "weird" and "bizarre," and dismiss Clint as a doddering old fool. But they know Eastwood exposed most...

I think people should start to practice the words "President Romney." What's Thicko up to these days? I mean, besides 350 pounds. What I mean to say is, What does leftist filmmaker Michael Moore think of the current presidential campaign? And what do his loyal followers, the denizens of the DUmp, make of Mike's take? Let's find out, shall we? To do so, we go to this THREAD, "Michael Moore: Romney will win in November," and this THREAD, "Michael Moore Predicts 'President Romney' in November." So now let us see if the DUmmies still like Mike, in Bowling-for-Bolshevik Red, while...

Tough times. So many close to me are enduring such hard times. Our beloved country is under attack from so many forces. We deal with so many issues, problems daily.... I merely wish to offer the gift of music to my fellow FReepers. Music is a gift from God. I'm a guitarist of over 40 years; music has gotten me through so much.... Sit back....crank up your speakers.....and listen to one of the most amazing live performances you will ever hear. This is my man, Gary Moore....live, in Stockholm, in 1987 playing "Empty Rooms". If you don't know Gary's work,...
