In the video, which was published by the Florida Today newspaper Thursday, the teens can be heard laughing at Dunn as he splashes futilely in the water and screams for help.
"Get out the water, you gonna die," yells one, while another yells, "ain’t nobody fixing to help you, you dumb (expletive)." As Dunn disappears under the water, one of the teens says, "Oh, he just died."

I'm reminded of the movie Fridays. IIRC, there was a character like this; the local predator who would ride around the neighborhood on his stolen bicycle and take anything of value that the neighbors hanging out on their front porches failed to hide when he rode by.
He was feared and loathed and would get his comeuppance in the end. Maybe Jamel Deuntra Dunn was such a person; the neighbor who had terrorized everyone around him for so long that when he finally needed help, the best he could get were the local kids pointing and laughing as he drowned, expressions of good riddance.

I particularly wouldn’t put myself out for a gangbanger like Money Dunn.

I guess the media tried their best to find a photo of Dunn with the fewest facial tattoos for a sympathetic story.
At least they kept the outrage to their own kind.
Police said the teens were identified and questioned by detectives, but it’s unlikely they will face charges, since they were not directly involved in Dunn’s death.

When I was young I could lift a jeep and hold it while another Marine piled rocks underneath so we could change the tire. Today I struggle to get a refrigerator into the back of a truck and my reflex times are too slow to ride motorcycles.

He wasn’t harming or killing anybody. Article said he was disabled, mentally I’m guessing.
There’s something to be said of a society that treats life like we do, and mocks the helpless when they were desperate for lifesaving help.

I don’t buy they couldn’t have helped him.....they didn;t even call 911.....further I’ve seen plenty of videos where
re they’re fighting each other, or one of their own is flipping out on drugs and they all just stand there and watch in the same way as they did in this incident.

Years of drug use and violence could have rendered him mentally disabled by now I suppose, but the people around him had to live with his continuous life of crime.

Nah, he was the violent thug his criminal record shows and nobody who actually lived in the neighborhood wanted the blame for keeping him around when he earned his darwin award.
Whatever he did according to his rap sheet had nothing to do with the way he was treated when he died.
If a woman is being raped in front of a crowd, are you going to look at her and keep walking if you guess she’s a prostitute and “deserved” it?
