In 2015, a pair of economists received widespread attention for their study showing that since the late 1990s the death rate has been rising for middle-aged white Americans.
Now a new analysis by the same Princeton University team has identified which part of that population was driving that trend: people without college degrees.
White men and women in every age group between 25 and 64 who did not have college degrees saw their mortality rates increase between 1998 and 2015. Those with degrees saw their mortality rates decrease.
“There are two Americas,” said Anne Case, who conducted the research with her husband, Angus Deaton, a Nobel laureate. “There’s an America for people who have gotten a college degree, and an America for people who have not gotten a college degree. And if you had a checklist of well-being, the people without college degrees are getting worse and worse, and people with college degrees are doing very well.”
The analysis, published Thursday in the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, found that the problem appears to be distinctly American. In Europe, mortality rates for people with low levels of education are falling more rapidly than for those with more education.
In every age group the researchers examined, white Americans with a high school education or less now fare worse than blacks as a whole — a reversal of the situation in 1999.
Blacks and Latinos have seen steady improvement in mortality rates as whites without college degrees have been going in the other direction as a result of drug overdoses, alcoholism and suicide and a recent halt in a decline in deaths due to heart disease. The nation’s opioid abuse epidemic played a major role.

I don’t see a correlation between refusing to take on 40-60K in debt and get indoctrinated with early mortality rates. Is this a push ad to get more WHITES in COLLEGE since they must be awash in IA’s and brain dead thugs who are opposed to the First Amendment. Tucker must be having an impact!

they are basically denied chances at jobs, at scholarships, even getting into some colleges, due to lowering standards for blacks but not whites...
plus we are raising, collectively, weakling boys...boys allowed to play indoors and view porn and violent games at will...
of course they're going to be using drugs for entertainment...of course they will not be able to go to college...of course there are no decades old industries to go to....and of course our govt taxes everyone to death and gives a majority of our tax monies to everyone else BUT young white people....
That’s because credentialism has replaced common sense.
Employers won’t hire people based on actual skill or talent or potential ... just based on a piece of paper.
And it doesn’t stop at a college degree. Many employers won’t hire someone without a Masters Degree, regardless of experience and talent.
Because of creeping credentialism a college degree now has the worth of a high school diploma. Where will it end? Will people have to be in school gathering credentials well into their 30’s (and in debt up to the their hair follicles) to be hirable?
Hypothesis to be: Mortality rates of those that read LAT/NYSlimes/WashPost/BosGlob versus Washington Times.
I'm speculating that the latter has a higher mortality rate than the latter.

This is directly related to all the illegal invaders. They came by the millions, taking the jobs away from what had traditionally been working class white guys, because of their willingness to work for wages far less than the going rate. All those other reasons listed are but SYMPTOMS and after effects from the invasion.
Most of the reporters and editors at the LA Times are whites with college degrees, including the guy who wrote the story.
But the LA Times didn’t conduct the study, Princeton University researchers (who are also whites with college degrees) did.
The largest employer in our city (CA) has in the past several years promoted Hispanics disproportionately to the former employee make up, our customer base, and the city demographics. Mexicans hire Mexicans and now the business is 80% Hispanic run. They also get away with substandard work and absences. White people now are having to go on welfare or beg a Hispanic for an entry level job. Mexico has won the war.

The entire West is in various states of collapse.....France, Germany, Canada, the USA. Pick your poison. The elites have inculcated self-loathing into the host populations to such a degree that the citizens no longer can grasp logic, or critical thinking. Watch the clip of the PM of the UK running in circles as she tries to get into a car to escape a Muslim attack at parliament. If the Muslim attacker had went in another direction he would have had a clear run at her.....the gates were wide open !

It doesn’t directly, but people who have underlying difficulties in life, one of which is financial problems due to underemployment or unemployment, are more likely to start seeking escape through substance abuse, IF they’re not firmly grounded. In 12 step programs, no matter which addiction, it is said that the addiction is but a symptom, therefore the 12 steps to work out the ‘real’ problem.
