Saw this press conference. AG Sessions has decided to recuse himself "from any investigations related to the Trump campaign".
I felt it was a very weak performance by AG Sessions, by the way.
I’m hoping you’re right. I really like Sessions and want to see some great things from him over the next 4 years or more. Nailing obama, holder, jarrett and the rest of the swamp creature dung are a few of those things I want to see.
Maybe this will toughen him up a bit so he’s not so nice going forward.
I think everyone needs to realize that AGs do not conduct their business via press conferences. It’s usually a pretty low profile job unless the press or circumstances manage to create an uproar. AGs are managers and administrators who decide what cases to investigate and prosecute and defend and they do that mostly out of the public spotlight.
What the entire Trump administration needs is to arrive at a point where they are fully staffed and into a routine. Of course, that’s also what Schumcky and friends are trying to stall are long as possible. The Republicans in the Senate need to get a lot tougher and start defeating those stalling tactics.
I think Sessions just recused himself from a big nothing-burger.
*************
The Democrats see this as a Whopper.
Let’s be honest. If the Republicans scored a hit like this on a newly appointed Obama AG, we would all be celebrating the big political victory. The AG is a key cabinet member in any administration.
What makes this such an insidious problem is that blood in the water excites the sharks.
Laz, you seem to have gone weak in the knees of late. While I would of course love to see the AG and PDJT go at these swine directly, we should trust these folks to play a strategy. Because, well, they’ve done it so many bloody times in the last couple of years.
Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees can play a halfway competent game of baseball.
Think Sun Tzu. I think I have an idea of what’s happening.
He should NOT have recused himself. This is weak and plays right into the hands of our enemies. The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was the word Lazy. Too lazy to fight and tell these dims and rinos to go pound sand.
It’s not the right thing to do in this case, because there is NO case to be brought. Another liberal rag, notorious for being anti-Trump, cites another sourceless, Obama operative within the intelligence community and suddenly, the Attorney General is having a press conference to answer the allegations. This has EMBOLDENED the liberal media, the Democrat party, the Republican NeverTrumpers even more against President Trump and his administration. It was an idiotic decision to legitimize a hack piece from the left.
Agree, in part. He should not have recused himself. This will only motivate more attacks and the MSM will declare him guilty. However, I don't think he came across as lazy. Rather he looked shell shocked, beaten down and weak. This is not what Trump needs in the AG. After today's performance, would he go after the Dems like a pit bull on so many items? And will a Democrat Acting make the decision to appoint a Special Prosecutor?
Dear Dems: That’s not a scalp, that’s just a haircut.
The black queen chants the funeral march,
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king.

I’ve only seen clips of his news conference.
FWIW, I think “this entire Russian thang” should be deep sixed immediately.
It’s a demonic-rat invention.
Me too. Our side is just too nice. Too gentlemanly, too soft, too timid. Ah, shoot! I don’t have any confidence this hostile department is going to take it to the crooked Clintons, the traitorous Obama, and as ll their cohorts.
I agree. He’s now branded as slippery by the left.
I hate that, because he’s a really decent person.
I don’t even understand why there is even a committee to investigate something that never happened - Russian involvement in the US election.
Keep wondering why he hasn’t personally smacked down McCain.
His spokesperson put out a better response. He needed to reiterate over and over again that his meeting was unrelated to the Trump campaign but was related to Senate business. He thought the question was in relation to the Trump campaign. The other meeting at the Heritage event was a nothing burger.
Good points and questions.
Good, so now he can spend more time going after the Clinton Fiundation.
