Trump to surrogates: Don’t back down from criticizing judge, journalists ("Those are the racists")

Donald Trump urged his supporters during a Monday conference call to defend his controversial accusation that a federal judge is unfit to rule in a Trump University fraud case because of his Hispanic heritage, Bloomberg reported.

Trump was defiant, despite the rash of criticism he's faced from Republicans and Democrats alike, according to a description of the call to Bloomberg by two supporters who participated.

"We will overcome," Trump said. "And I’ve always won and I’m going to continue to win. And that’s the way it is."

He went on to declare that his surrogates should specifically target journalists who are bringing up the issue.

"The people asking the questions — those are the racists," Trump added. "I would go at 'em."

When former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Trump supporter, told the presumptive GOP presidential nominee that the campaign's surrogate handler specifically emailed about steering clear of the controversy, Trump bristled.

"Take that order and throw it the hell out," he said, repeatedly demanding to know who sent the memo, Bloomberg reported. When told the memo was sent by Erica Freeman, a staffer who sends information to surrogates, Trump said he didn't know her, Bloomberg reported.

"Are there any other stupid letters that were sent to you folks? … That's one of the reasons I want to have this call, because you guys are getting sometimes stupid information from people that aren't so smart."

Trump has repeatedly questioned Judge Gonzalo Curiel, arguing that his Mexican heritage makes him biased in the case because of Trump's plan to build a border fence along the Mexican border.

Instead of walking that back, he doubled down over the weekend, floating the prospect that a Muslim judge might be similarly biased against him and unfit to preside in a case he's involved in.

Thanks. But I can’t respond without more facts. Links? Would appreciate them.

The links are listed above where he continues to be associated with La Raza in May, 2016. He was honored by La Raza just weeks ago for his support of illegal immigration.

Technically you are correct, but it’s still not a race or an ethnicity.

Trump is connecting the dots, that is why he spoke up.

He knew he had a Trump card so to speak, in that he had the letter from the plaintiff stating they were pleased with the course. That alone is all the reason this case should be dismissed as a frivolous lawsuit. He is very much connecting the dots. That is why he is exposing the shenanigans.

No, but apparently it’s a state of mind, regarding the Mexican-wannabe judge.

Sort of like “transgendered”.

How many years have we been told that having all whites on a jury is wrong because WE can’t be trusted to be fair?

Can I assume democrats are going to apologize to us?

“I see all the hand-wringers are running around in circles like they usually do.”

Well, Trump incidents like this give FR’s small but dedicated crew of surrender monkeys and GOPe clowns an opportunity to harangue us over the crushing possibility that the fascist media will call us unbearable names. Hand-wringing - it makes life semi-sweet for the GOPe. Or is it bed-wetting?

See Judge approved scholarships for DACA kids. Obnoxious, but legal.

Do not see he supported illegal immigration.

Doubled down in the face of a journalistic and establishment attack.

This is why I love this guy. He has ALL my respect. And gratitude.

the case should’ve been thrown out when the plaintiff changed. This judge has been unfair already.

Getting the facts instead of believing the MSM would help you out.

This is the START of Trump fighting the judiciary implementing the leftist agenda!!! How many states have voted for traditional marriage to have it overturned by leftist judges???? How many states have TRIED to reel in abortion issues to have it overturned by leftist judges???? The left has been screaming for decades about diversity in the legal system and NOW they are bringing that racist diversity to the bench!!!! Judges are SUPPOSED to be NEUTRAL are they..........NOT!!!!! Trump is fighting for us finally SOMEONE is FIGHTING this BS!!!! He just happens to have a case before a radical immigration judge and WE NEED to let Trump be Trump!!!! These BASTARDS have taken over EVERY aspect of our lives judicial and education are the first to tackle !!!!

This was the original judge. Why did the original judge get replaced.

Original Judge

District Judge: Hon. Cathy Ann Bencivengo
Magistrate Judge: Hon. William V. Gallo

And correction, the frivolous lawsuits were filed before Trump ran for President, not after.

Trump has never mentioned anything about a La Raza connection. He has only mentioned that the judge was of Mexican heritage, that is not good.

In class action suits, I believe substitution of plaintiff has been successfully done before.

Sounds like a bunch of lawyer-joke pricks riding a deep-pocket gravy train.

Read up a little. The judge supports La Raza.

Actually since the judge’s parents were (or still are for all I know) MX citizens at the time of his birth, he is a dual MX/US citizen.

AND a member of La Raza.
