Our overriding conservative mission on Free Republic is to defend God, family, country!

Posted on 05/11/2016 1:10:59 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Our overriding mission on Free Republic is to preserve, protect and defend (conserve) God, family, country--and all that that entails (refer to the Declaration, Constitution, and our Judeo-Christian American heritage for details).

Our most immediate task we must undertake at this time is keep corrupt, godless, treasonous, America-hating communists like Hillary Clinton out of power.

Our very survival as a free nation depends upon it.

That means FR is going all in to defeat Hillary/Bernie, et al, by supporting our America-first nominee Donald Trump to the hilt.

Very sorry if your favorite candidate did not win the nomination and sorry if you cannot understand or agree with our mission, but those who can't live with our immediate goal need to either keep it to themselves or sit it out (from FR) for the duration. Anti-Trump activities and NeverTrump trolling and recruiting efforts are not appreciated and are unwelcome on FR.

The time for fighting about who may be best on our side for the job is over. It's now time to consolidate and concentrate our firepower against our common enemy.

Our intent is to do whatever it takes to defeat the commies in November and if you do not wish to be part of this effort, please sign off now. You can always let me know by email if you wish to rejoin us.

Thank you very much.

Thanks! And there's always more at stake than "merely" the White House:

Rush is in; he’s just too subtle for a lot of people.

So Jim, has a hotel been reserved in D.C. for an inaugural ball? It has been a while.

libbylu hasn’t posted since 4/16/16, although her account is still active.
Frankly, I am amazed at Jim’s forgiveness after her record setting zot where she damned us all to hell.

I agree, but did not your mission also at one time include repealing the 13th amendment?

“Defending God” is a misnamed undertaking because far from God needing us to defend Him, we need God to defend us, and must avail ourselves of that His way, not our way.

“Cherishing God” needs to be the name of the game. He was not kidding when He said He was love.

Lol! I don't remember many Opus/Zots, but I'll remember that one for a long time!

I sincerely pray that God will bless Trump (the presumptive winner). We don’t need a curse on Donald.

Someone always has to go for the technicalities. I just happen to like the phrase God, family, country better than religion, family, country.

I think it did reveal an all too common mindset. Damning people to hell doesn’t respect God at all.

“Damning people to hell doesn’t respect God at all.”

Telling them to repent does!

I supported Ted Cruz until he dropped out. Glad I voted for him in Arizona, regardless of the outcome.

But it is now Hillary vs Trump, so GO TRUMP GO!

I would aver it makes more sense to say “faith.” We can defend faith, though again we need to do it the way God wants us to (give a reason to everybody for the hope that lives within us, with meekness and respect).

I think I know (and agree with) what you’re getting at, I just hope to give it a bit of a gospel tug.

Those aren’t the same thing, though. That’s the point. Libby could have implored us to embrace Cruz and it would have come over a whale of a lot better, even if we ended up disagreeing.

Here is the case, or part of the case, for influencing libertarians, fiscal conservatives, small-government conservatives, free-market conservatives, evangelical Christian conservatives, moral value conservatives, and other persons-who-dislike-Donald-Trump that it is okay to vote for Donald Trump:

Presidents appoint and otherwise bring with them about 7000 government executives.

Whatever you think of Trump’s person or personal worldview or personal behaviors, he will, as President, come with about 7000 persons in policy-making and policy-execution positions who will, for the most part, lean in the conservative or middle ideological direction.

Hillary or Sanders will also bring with them about 7000 persons. In Hillary’s case, they will be hard left, or lean left, and be overwhelmingly Progressive party apparatchiks. In Bernie’s case, they will lean hard left in the same manner as those of Obama.

The President as an individual with a personal worldview and personal inclinations is, arguably, responsible for only [choose a small number] percent of the policy and execution direction of the executive branch. The larger portion is generated by, arguable, these 7000 policy formulators, policy makers, and policy executors.

We place WAAAAAAAAY too much emphasis on the President the man during election campaign vetting.
