Republican front-runner Donald Trump on Saturday resumed his questioning of rival Ted Cruzs presidential eligibility, citing Cruzs Canadian birth.
The first thing the Democrats are going to do is sue him on the basis that hes not a naturalized citizen, he wasnt born in the country, Trump said at a rally in Connecticut, which holds its primaries on Tuesday, Politico reported.

See #80.
Supposedly....but I did find something years ago that tells the opposite. Forgot which book but I know I can find it again.
I applaud your comments as they are akin to mine own.
I want a patriot first and foremost, Washington-esque.
Trump is a narcissist like Obama, and it will be all about him.
And he will definitely go back on his platform positions as he will self-righteously like Obama proclaim “Now that I have thought about it, I have decided I cannot support the position that I had thought was the correct one”.
Those platform positions, along with a brutally non-pc tone is driving his success. He is already pushing back on positions he has taken, and there will be a lot more to come.
That is the problem with someone who lacks social morality(conservatism). He is not being guided with a moral compass.
“Supposedly”
Are you saying I faked the link that I sent to you that the American History Magazine authored?
Then you are really desperate.
Go google it yourself.
I agree....
Why should Trump stop telling the truth? Cruz is NOT eligible!
Cruz and Trump are running for President not their ancestors and only one of them was born in the US.
My instincts tell me that the US government did not know he existed until 1986 when he wanted a driver’s license and a passport.
The fact that he didn’t apply for citizenship until he was 16 is what he’s hiding.
He watched Obama game the system that apparently really does not have any “controlling legal authority” where eligibility is concerned and figured he would exploit it as well.
STFU and get on the real issues!
If Trump wants to blow smoke over a non-issue, Cruz should find a way to blow a little smoke right back at him. And do it with a smile. Talk about lederhosen, haggis, and Trump as a relative newcomer, not that there's anything wrong with that.
As a tactical matter, Cruz should have anchored his story a bit more in his mother's family long ago. This is a battle for perceptions, and framing is important. The public thinks of Cruz as the son of a Cuban immigrant. Cruz would be better served if he were known as the great, great, great, whatever grandson of farmers and millworkers from Delaware and Pennsylvania. In a perfect world, Cruz would have an ancestor who froze with Washington at Valley Forge or charged with the Irish Brigade at Fredericksburg. Paint that picture, and I defy you to find any American who will question that the great, great, great, whatever descendant is not a natural born citizen.
Whether Cruz's family tree has any such dramatic vignettes, I don't know. They may have just been farmers, laborers, and factory hands. But you can sing a song about that as well. Paint the picture. Sing the song. That would settle it for most people.
Not afraid of the truth
Cruz is done, Trump needs to focus on Hillary
By attacking Cruz, he is making him relevant, he no longer is relevant. The race is over. Only to the Cruzers this race is still on, they are like the Ron Paul people at this point
But is it working?
It doesn’t matter if Trump is right or not, he is, it is the public perception. Plus Trump has bigger fish to fry, Cruz is done
“Im sure that after nomination they hoped to win.”
If they had not wanted it, they would have turned it down cold, as did Sherman:
“If drafted, I will not run; if nominated, I will not accept; if elected, I will not serve.”
— summarized from Wikipedia
“Then you must be a better historical writer than the American History Magazine.”
Well, probably so.
“Why would any sane person run for president if they didnt really want to be president? “
Do you really believe Jesse Jackson wanted to be President in ‘88? Oh, yeah, right, you said ‘sane person’.
Sorry, you are correct.
“Then you must be a better historical writer than the American History Magazine.
Well, probably so.”
Congratulations, you have made the prerequisite to be a Trump supporter.
And you will likely petition him to use his image to replace Washington on the dollar bill too?
Trump is right. The DNC will challenge Cruz if he’s put on the ticket. They will say his documents are not in order and unless he can come up with them they can and will keep him off the ballot.
Barry Soetoro/Barack Hussein Obama should be proof enough of the wisdom of the founders when they tried to prevent him from being President by requiring someone who could only be a US citizen and nothing else.
Born here of citizen parents.
Naturally a US citizen because there is no other possibility.
One cannot be anything else and also be a natural born citizen.
Obama told us he was born a British Subject.
Who believes Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Jay, Monroe, Madison, etc. would have found him to be a natural born citizen?
Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009, happened with the complete cooperation of both parties.
They want the Constitution changed without the hassle of amending the Constitution.
Confuse people about the clear meaning of a three word phrase and voila, every anchor baby and Winston Churchill is eligible.
The bench was the reason the GOP went along with the fig leaf resolution for McCain that was used by the Democrats as cover for Obama.
Jindal, Rubio, Haley and Cruz were all up and comers and the future of the party and ineligible.
Chester A Arthur
Have you ever heard General Sherman’s comment about the presidency? That is what people say who do not seek the presidency.
We should all be thankful Washington took the job for two terms.
