Sorry Donald, Cruz Spent Thousands, not Millions on Wyoming
Conservative Review ^ | 04/18/16 | Robert Eno

Posted on 04/18/2016 7:18:39 PM PDT by writer33

On Saturday, to blunt his pending loss in Wyoming, Donald Trump went on Fox and Friends to complain about Wyoming’s convention. He cast aspersions on Republican activists in the state, saying they could be bought. If they could be bought, the price was pretty low. Federal Election Commission data shows that up to February 29, 2016, Ted Cruz has reported spending less than $2,200 in the state.

Because election spending is regulated by the federal government, exactly how much Cruz spent, “months before” the Wyoming Convention, is known. The precinct caucuses in Wyoming were held between February 16 and March 1. Federal Election Commission data covers basically the entire caucus process and reveals that the Cruz campaign spent $2,127 between the start of the campaign and the end of February.

That sounds like a man I can cheerfully loathe. Because its all about him not about America or the American people at all.

_________

No reason for a globalist to care, other than the temporary theater.

Basic Economics supply/demand, Govt has near infinite supply of money & resources. Cruz spent only $2200 for a monopoly no voter win. It shows Cruz is not Mr. Clever.

Your criminal Govt is picking winners & losers. Trump cannot compete with a $Trillion Govt scam.

You may have heard that but I doubt your own lawyer would advise you to release your returns while an audit is in process. No way that would be prudent.

Its rather ironic that the IRS is fanning the fire. They are not a disinterested party nor are they on Trump’s team.

The IRS welcomes the notoriety and the leverage it would afford them by pressuring Trump.

How much did his donors spend...that’s what this is really all about.

I’ll wager a little cash goes a long way in a state that can’t afford to hold a primary.

Next thing you know Cruz will jump in on the IRS side. Just like in Chicago where he took the far-left communist side.

So many writers seeking relevancy.

So few achieving it.

Cruz has been a globalist all along. He sponsored legislation to double the immigration quota and increase the H1b Visas by 500% at a time of crushing American unemployment. He traitorously signed TPA to help usher in the North American Union, while playing Kabuki theatre to fool the American people.

How Another Foreign National Plans to be President of the United States:

"Secondly, I believe we should expand legal immigration, reduce the barriers, reduce the waiting periods and I've introduced two amendments to significantly expand legal immigration, to double the caps on legal immigration from 675,000 to 1.3 million and to increase temporary high skilled workers by 500%." - U. S. Senator Rafael Edwardo "Ted" Cruz"

Your points are somewhat valid, I guess, even though he’s not restricted at all in releasing returns already audited. Maybe he’s got something to hide? Who knows?

As for me, #1 I’m retired and no longer forced to pay taxes, #2 My former returns are pretty basic, 1040EZ kinda stuff, doubt the IRS would be interested.

When the IRS audits they always pull in prior years returns. In businesses there are aspects that span the years because of depreciation and other considerations.

As a matter of IRS record: Generally, the IRS can include returns filed within the last three years in an audit. If the asset was exchanged, the basis for the new asset may include the exchanged asset so the records for both assets will need to be retained until the new asset is disposed plus three years from the file date of the tax return for the year of disposition. Payroll records 4 years retained.

That’s because Cruz has super PACS and party insiders spending the money for him. And judging by the emails he is sending out begging for donations, they aren’t doing a very good job. They are spending the out money, yet have less delegates and less votes than Trump. Typical politicians mentality.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out during the national Republican convention. Maybe you’ll learn something about the process.

By the time the convention roles around Cruz will have enough delegates to block the Trump nomination!!!

Yeah Cruz is some insurgent. He is trying to sabotage the one guy who wants to stop illegal immigration and build a wall. Cruz is dropping in the national polls, by the way coming in 3rd in the Northeast. You can call Trump's response "whining" if you want but it is resonating with voters and we are going to lose millions of voters if Trump is not the nominee. Cruz will not be able get them back.

Cruz is history, even he were to work a back door to the nomination his support nationally will be weak and the MSM and Democrats will be calling him "selected" not elected. You will here news story after news story about how millions of Republicans voted against him. Instead of "the come back kid" that Cruz supporters think will be the meme he will be portrayed as "the little nerd that couldn't"!

so if trump spent $10k, he would’ve won?

Trump was perfectly capable of a major win in Wyoming, and I'm disappointed that he didn't try. Or is there anyone who thinks 70 registered republican voters in WY supporting Trump was his best effort? Is there anyone who thinks Trump could not have gotten 1,000 supporters to the caucus locations for the WY caucus, which would have given him far more delegates than Cruz with 600 supporters got?

If Trump loses, the blame falls squarely on Trump's shoulders. I want a Trump victory on the first ballot to avoid party shenanigans. If Trump falls short after not trying, I'm not going to blame Cruz in the unlikely event that Cruz is able to outplay the party leadership in the second round of voting at the party's convention.
