Ted Cruz Receives Mitt Romney's Seal Of Approval (Where's the disavowal?)
3/03/2016 | Brices Crossroads

Posted on 03/03/2016 1:12:53 PM PST by Brices Crossroads

Generally speaking, your enemies' actions will tell you who or what they fear. Mitt Romney's windy tirade, on behalf of the Establishment and against Donald Trump, is no different. The Establishment fears Donald Trump and not because he might lose. The Establishment is very adept at losing, having lost the popular vote in five of the last six Presidential elections. No. They are afraid of Donald Trump because they not only believe he might win; the actually believe he WILL win. His victory would end their gravy train and suspend, as well as expose to scrutiny, the rackets they have been involved in for the last quarter century. From the GOP Establishment's point of view, a Hillary Clinton victory is infinitely preferable to that.

I have listened for months now as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, among others, have repeatedly lumped Ted Cruz together with Donald Trump as the two threats for which, the Establishment has equal and unmitigated disdain. I think many of us knew that Ted Cruz was no threat to the Establishment but was a cog in its machinery. Willard Mitt Romney, the latest Establishment sacrificial lamb, has now revealed that Ted Cruz is, in fact, an Establishment operative in good standing. At his Trump bashing event, Romney said the following:

"If the other candidates can find common ground, I believe we can nominate a person who can win the general election and who will represent the values and policies of conservatism. Given the current delegate selection process, this means that I would vote for Marco Rubio in Florida, for John Kasich in Ohio, and for Ted Cruz or whichever one of the other two contenders has the best chance of beating Mr. Trump in a given state."

By giving Cruz his imprimatur, Romney provided a very valuable service to any voter who is torn between which of the two anti-Establishment candidates, Trump or Cruz, to support. The fact is there is, and always was, only one anti-Establishment candidate, and it was never Ted Cruz. Someone needs to let Rush and Sean know that they can now drop the line that Cruz is anti-Establishment. Unless, of course, Cruz wants to repudiate Romney's endorsement.

Come to think of it, since we are hearing many calls for repudiations of support/endorsements from this person or that group, perhaps it is not too bold to ask: Can we get a disavowal, Ted?

Didn't think so.

If Mitt truly wanted a chance of victory over Trump, he would be calling for Rubio to get out of the race and let the top two fight it out.

Part of me wonders if this is not a game w/ the possible scenario playing out below.

Mitt is just playing the game two steps past the general public in a game of chess, they want Trump to win (now they have no means of winning with a GOPer themselves). They know gloating the masses is the means to that end. They know the only way to have Hillary get elected is to have someone so high in negatives to pass her is to have Trump on the ticket instead of Cruz. The elitist want Trump to lose badly so as to solidify their future positions by being able to say, "we told you so". Mitt and his cronies could then says "We (the GOPe) had your backs but you didn't listen to us."

One 4 year term then they get to try again to put their man in.

“No link to an article or video on this?”

I took Romney’s remarks verbatim from the transcript at Breitbart. The link is below:

Of course there won’t be a disavowal. Cruz will show his true colors (yet again) and tacitly agree with Romney.

And plenty of Cruz’s supporters won’t see this, as they’ve been mesmerized by this shyster.

You don't know, you are speculating, spreading myths. Let's wait until tonight to see how Cruz himself addresses this.

I have questions. Why hasn’t Ted Cruz condemned the unprecedented dirty tricks of the establishment in their attempt to thwart the will of the people by a full frontal assault on the front runner. Why did Ted Cruz say, Marco Rubio would be a better candidate and POTUS then Donald Trump. Why did Ted Cruz say, there would be no Brokered Convention in a TV interview, when on the very same day his Campaign Manager said, they were preparing for one? Lastly, if there is a Brokered Convention, will Ted Cruz support the GOPe? Cruz’ silence is deafening! I believe, Cruz will fold and join the GOPe.

“Gimme a break, if Trump had received Romneys blessing he’d be trumpeting it from the treetops.”

What a singularly stupid statement! If he had Romney’s support, of course he’d have responded positively. I just hope Trump is keeping a good list of those who went out of their way to f—k him, because payback should be a bitch.

It’s from Milt’s pathetic speech, today. Google will help you find a video, if the transcript does not suffice.

And plenty of Cruz's supporters won't see this, as they've been mesermized by the shyster

In the debate last week, when Cruz tag-teamed with Rubio and then said he'd vote for Rubio ahead of Trump, they should've seen it. It was a tacit admission that the invasion of the US wasn't all that important issue. Many were STILL making excuses for him.

Not all Cruz supporters are beyond hope. Be patient. As I've expressed many times, once someone sees that "something" in Cruz, it all ties together, and it never goes away. The spell is broken.

Trump supporters aren't like that. We know our guy isn't perfect. What we believe is he's the only chance we have to save the US.

True. But I think Romney and the GOPe want to get rid of Trump and Cruz. They fear Trump and they hate Cruz. Hopefully, Cruz realizes this and makes sure the voters do, too.

Trump supporters, please see if you can help gg188 out.
The post that includes “Cruz has ALWAYS been the establishment pick.”... well, I’m not a doctor and I didn’t sleep in a Holiday Inn but does anyone actually agree with this?

Romney’s diatribe this afternoon will, if it does anything, solidify trump’s base and open doors to other voters. Using this piece of absolute stupidity to attack Cruz? I understand the strategy in it but it’s incredibly dishonest.

#65, Sad story really. It’s what drugs can do you your brain if you are not careful. The rest of us just give him wide birth. It’s a case of not enough hospitals to care for the mentally impaired. He does keep himself busy on here though.

You said...
“What Romney wants is to ensure that trump has no way of reaching the delegates required for nomination. I’m pretty sure he’d ask people to vote for Jim Gilmore if he hadn’t suspended his campaign.’

This is part of the GOPe’s desperation. Many here don’t realize that ultimately, the GOPe wanted Jeb.

This was a backstab move by Mitt, though. Considering what Trump did for him in 2012. I realize politics is a blood sport but how stupid was it for the GOP to send out Mitt

No, don’t you understand? Cruz is an “OUT-SI-DER.” Get it? Yah. All outsiders get endorsed by National Review, Jonah Goldberg, Guy Benson, and . . .

Mittens.

The GOPe could kill three birds with one stone if they got behind Cruz. Mend fences with conservative voters, torpedo the SS Donald, and get Hillary in, just like they want.
