Ted Cruz Receives Mitt Romney's Seal Of Approval (Where's the disavowal?)
3/03/2016 | Brices Crossroads

Posted on 03/03/2016 1:12:53 PM PST by Brices Crossroads

Generally speaking, your enemies' actions will tell you who or what they fear. Mitt Romney's windy tirade, on behalf of the Establishment and against Donald Trump, is no different. The Establishment fears Donald Trump and not because he might lose. The Establishment is very adept at losing, having lost the popular vote in five of the last six Presidential elections. No. They are afraid of Donald Trump because they not only believe he might win; the actually believe he WILL win. His victory would end their gravy train and suspend, as well as expose to scrutiny, the rackets they have been involved in for the last quarter century. From the GOP Establishment's point of view, a Hillary Clinton victory is infinitely preferable to that.

I have listened for months now as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, among others, have repeatedly lumped Ted Cruz together with Donald Trump as the two threats for which, the Establishment has equal and unmitigated disdain. I think many of us knew that Ted Cruz was no threat to the Establishment but was a cog in its machinery. Willard Mitt Romney, the latest Establishment sacrificial lamb, has now revealed that Ted Cruz is, in fact, an Establishment operative in good standing. At his Trump bashing event, Romney said the following:

"If the other candidates can find common ground, I believe we can nominate a person who can win the general election and who will represent the values and policies of conservatism. Given the current delegate selection process, this means that I would vote for Marco Rubio in Florida, for John Kasich in Ohio, and for Ted Cruz or whichever one of the other two contenders has the best chance of beating Mr. Trump in a given state."

By giving Cruz his imprimatur, Romney provided a very valuable service to any voter who is torn between which of the two anti-Establishment candidates, Trump or Cruz, to support. The fact is there is, and always was, only one anti-Establishment candidate, and it was never Ted Cruz. Someone needs to let Rush and Sean know that they can now drop the line that Cruz is anti-Establishment. Unless, of course, Cruz wants to repudiate Romney's endorsement.

Come to think of it, since we are hearing many calls for repudiations of support/endorsements from this person or that group, perhaps it is not too bold to ask: Can we get a disavowal, Ted?

Didn't think so.

If you believe that, the only real solution is anarchy. Is Trump the Anarchy candidate now?

Romney dragged Cruz’s name into their slimy scheme. Cruz needs to either disavow participation, or fess up that he’s part of the establishment.

Time to put the squeeze on.

“You have to ignore the TrumpBots. I have never seen the craziness like I see around here. They have no concept of conservative principles...”

___________________________________

You mean like the “Conservative Principles” Ted Cruz has supported:

1) Worked with Paul Ryan to pass TPA

2) Voted for the Corker Iran Bill

3) Supported an increase in H1B Visas

4) Went to the Southern Border with Glenn Beck to pass out soccer balls and Teddy Bears to ILLEGALS

5) Engaged in slimy behavior in Iowa (sleazy mailers, lied about the Carson campaign leaving the primary)

Are these the conservative principles you were thinking about?

Sorry, but Ted says one thing, and does another. This comes across as creepy and slimy. We call it “CRIMY.”

Nope. I like self financed elections. It is better for our country. Are you saying that only liberals are billionaires? Oh how naive you are. Of course you are a Cruzer so no surprise.

Amen.

Let’s see what fancy moves he makes, tonight.

I have a some acreage and a mobile home way out in the country near Eufaula. But my primary home is in Arkansas.

I understand your fan reference and in fact I predicted that AL would go for Trump, in spite of the fact that most voters are at least mostly conservative.

IMO, the reason is the same as it was with Obama. Trump does not threaten their source of income which is largely State and Fed gov.

Thus it is that they feel threatened by Conservatives.

When you understand the underpinnings of the average voter, they consider their back pocket before anything else and this is why the country and the republic is in imminent danger of failing.

This is also why it is a last chance to elect a conservative, and if that does not happen, then it’s foregone conclusion that the country will finally hit bottom and that will precipitate utter chaos.

So I cannot accept what is happening here. My very presence here is painful to me. If the country was in good shape, maybe we could handle 16 years of unrestricted government growth and the demolition of our constitutional roots, but it’s not, and we can’t.

He’s boxed it ... it’s a rope-a-dope.

This would be an interesting debate play ... make Cruz choose sides.

“Are these the conservative principles you were thinking about?”

And Trump financed the campaigns for liberal members of the Gang of Eight, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi.

He supported partial birth abortion and thinks Planned Parenthood is “wonderful”.

Are those the “conservative” principles you support?

Somehow I think it’s pretty obvious Trump has committed the more grievous sins against conservativism and cronyism (and will continue to do so), but you all are living in your ivory tower atop King Donald’s palace.

I distinctly recall Trump saying no one in the Senate likes Cruz because he doesn’t get along with them, and Trump claiming he’d be great because he can cut deals with Congress.

So, Trumpbots, which is it? Can’t honestly have it both ways.

Yeah. That’s real important.

Our country’s going to go down the drain, and you’re concerned about who’s supporting Cruz.

For myself, I welcome any establishment person who wants to convert from the dark side, reverse direction from their absolute hatred of Cruz, and turn around support him.

For the good of the country, that’s what has to happen - before it’s too late.

It’s called “winning”. Like Trump, they can claim anything, and it has to be true.

You can’t make the Mona Lisa out of a POS, but the Trumpbots will attempt to do so, and tell you it smells good, too.

Many of the current Cruz supporters were very opposed to Romney in 2012—the don’t vote for romney crowd...Remember/

So I wonder how those folks are going to process the Romney nod to Cruz.

Romney is clearly establishment and a hypocrite. He actually did what I would call a preliminary endorsement for Trump last year. Very laudatory...

Don’t believe me?...Here is the video:
