If Donald Trump is the Tony Soprano of American politics, Ted Cruz is a less-affable version of Mr. Haney from Green Acres (Ok - not quite, but sort of! Do feel free to say, H&R readers, which movie character is a better fit with Cruz). But the only thing cleverer than Cruz's impression of Inigo Montoya in Princess Bride (and not the least because it irritates Billy Crystal and the insufferably self-righteous Mandy Patinkin so much) is the campaign strategy he devised in Iowa to defeat the ethanol cartel and win the primary, I note in my column at The Week.

It’s the voice of libertarianism, with all that that entails.
Straddling the fence is always stunning. The suckas buy it though. LOL
Yes about 3 percent voted for Cruz in the entire state. I would be at least 3 percent were against ethanol. Probably is 97 voted against Cruz who MIGHT be for ethanol. Just a thought.
Next up, the peanut cartel in Georgia.
All forms of corporate welfare must end.
97% of Iowa voted AGAINST Cruz?
seriously?
Donald Trump recently came out for ethanol subsidies, he could NOT be more wrong! Listen in to the facts on ethanol and why it is dangerous to America!

Mark Styne says, the way Carson was abused and the phony summons vote shaming took the victory away from Ted Millhouse Cruz.
Carson is a nice guy Ted is not a religious guy bearing false witness against the Doc.
“The retired neurosurgeon, appearing on “The View” Friday, discussed his concerns about the way Ted Cruz’s campaign passed along CNN’s reporting to organizers that Carson would be leaving the trail to fetch fresh clothes but how it neglected to include a follow-up tweet that Carson was not suspending his campaign. It would have been “very easy” for Cruz’s campaign to reach out to clarify, Carson said. âI just think that anybody who accepts this kind of behavior and doesnât feel that thereâs anything that needs to be done about it has a different standard of ethics than I do.”
I don’t know how else to explain it. I think you know that is true if you look at population and then even the republicans.
nonsense
How dumb.
Passing on a news headline is not abuse.
Trump compared him to a child molester on national TV, is that okay?
“I donât know how else to explain it. I think you know that is true if you look at population and then even the republicans.”
? are you suggesting that 100% of the Iowa voters actually show up to vote?
How else could one possibly get to 97%?
Please explain.
And BTW, making that comparison is like saying 91% of Iowan GOP voters are racist as they voted against the black guy.
It makes no sense at all.
