In the middle of tonight's debate, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and Rand Paul spent about ten minutes trading accusations of inconsistency on immigration reform. It felt like the last ten minutes of The Departed, where almost every major character suffered a grievous injury.

This is the story eh?
Not something like Why don’t Democratic candidates face this sort of hostility from their moderators.
Let Hillary and Bernie have their debates with Fox News and Megyn Kelly. See how many agree to that.
The story is what it is. Murdoch is open borders. The FOX people have their marching orders.
It's been explained to us. We don't understand it because we're not smart enough to understand his awesome strategy.
sarcasm, of course
I like them both, but thought they were not impressive enough to be presidential. Tonight, wow. They added a lot of dignity and focus to the event.
As I’ve been saying, the open-borders GOPe intends to take out both the front runners and stick us with amnesty pimps Rubio or Bush. Those FReepers pushing crap against Cruz or Trump are doing themselves no favors.
Sounds like what you saw was the what the immigration debate would have been had Trump not entered the race and said what most people want, the borders closed and immigration controlled.
If Donald Trump hadn’t come along, tonight’s (now yesterday’s) debates would have revolved around taxes, the environment, and social security.
A gold medal posting. Nicely done sir.
His moving back and forth across the stage, and his reasoning for doing it is going to drive liberals nuts.
I wished they could have drawn more than $6 million though, not pocket change, but not enough.
Santorum sounded like a high school kid on a first date, Huckabee is what he is, and i don’t care what people say about him, i just plain like him. I think he and Trump would make a terrific team.
A. Because New Jersey got to pick first.
Bah dum DUM !
If anyone has ever seen a real, apolitical debate... That is the nature of it. Argument, rebuttal, counter, then back. Questions get hard and unfair, as trump found out the last time. Gotta hang with the big boys. I enjoy any debate on any clean topic.. Especially with skilled debaters... Gives you a clearer picture of how they use reason, evidence, logic to examine something.. It should be iron sharpening iron.
Or,as Mr Single Payor 2000 found out.. It challenges the strength of your understanding...maybe so much you get scared by a girl and become Mr Abentee.. Maybe trump should take golf lessons from Obama when things get difficult.
Did the Muslim ask her question?
Turned off the Rubio show on Fox and Friends today, they made me puke.
or the attacks from the ringers they brought in.
The gang of 8 Bill gave a path to citizenship to illegals, that was Rubio s,Schummers,Pelosi,Bill.
TED Cruz said he was for immigration reform but not citizenship,he knew he could not stop the gang of 8 Bill from passing,so to demonsrate the hypocrisy of the Rubio gang he offered an amendment that he said would get IMMIGRATION reform by making illegalls legal,so they can work but they would NOT BE ALLOWED TO BECOME CITIZENS.
The gang of 8 gang wanted nothing to do with that because their goal was citizenship, period, for all the illegals,Cruz knew that, the purpose of his amendment proved it,the uproar from the public got the gang bill defeated.
Now all the establishment is trying to claim he was for amnesty, and he lied,he said he would vote for the bill, well yes if it had his amendment, that would NOT ALLOW ILLEGALS TO BECOME CITIZENS.
All along the democrats and Rbio had been saying they want them to come out of the shadows because they just want to work and we need them to do jobs Americans won’t do,ok fine, but you don’t get citizenship, that was Cruzs position, the Rubio gang was going to allow them to become citizens.
They broke the law they do not deservd to go ahead if people who have spent years waiting in line legally to become citizens.
Cruz is right,Rubio and the rest of the sleazeballs are liars
“But apparently what really killed it was the public outrage.”
Actually, 2 things killed, neither having to do with public outrage
First, Boehner simply REFUSED to bring it to a vote until 50% of House Republicans signed on in support. There was enough Republican support for the Senate bill to pass from Day 1 (but not with 50% of Republicans on board), but say what we will about Boehner, he wouldn’t allow a vote until the 50% number was reached. Then, believe it or not, they reached 50% and the vote was about to happen in mid-June, 2014...and then...
Second, CANTOR’S DEFEAT. Even though they didn’t mention it, Cantor obviously knew there would be outrage if it passed, so Cantor wanted to get his Primary out of the way. His defeat resulted in many House Republicans not wanting to follow in his footsteps, and that effectively killed the bill.
There’s a REALLY GOOD PBS show on it, where they tracked the House members as they closed in for the passage. We (i.e., public outrage) was simply nowhere to be found - never once mentioned in that show. About the closest they came was when a South Carolina Tea Party Republican (after being compromised) at a Town Hall lectured his constituents on why Amnesty was so critical for Republicans...and one other scene where he’s snickering at a constituent responding at an electronic Town Hall.
You’ll see it all - every suspicion we have about politicians getting corrupted in DC plays out...it’s just like House of Cards, but it’s not fiction.

“Yes, but to be fair, as I understand what I was told, Cruz really did try to get the citizenship (i.e. new rat voters) squashed. They could be legal but not citizens.”
Agree, Cruz did try to prevent citizenship. But letting them stay legally opened up a minefield that would have left us in the same place.
1) First, Obama would have simply granted them citizenship, claiming that there was a ‘mistake’ in the language of the bill. Don’t laugh, the Supreme Court upheld that argument in the Obamacare case last year.
2) Second, if that had failed, next would have a HUGE legislative push to grant them citizenship...something Republicans simply would not have been able to resist. As Frank Luntz would say: “How can the Republican Party expect to get Hispanic votes when we treat them as Second Class Americans”.
3) Third: If the above had somehow failed, then a simple court ruling, based on anti-slavery amendments to the Constitution...given the Courts now, it would have been been upheld.
4) Finally, regardless of the above - letting them stay and have kids would still condemn our children to Republicans being very badly outnumbered. The only solution to that is to replace today’s illegals with people (could be many of the same ones) that are only GUEST WORKERS, meaning they have their kids back home. Trump still closest to that.
Overall, I still like Cruz, but he’s my second choice, I’m voting for Trump.
’ ... Sessions credits Cruz with helping kill the gang-of-8 bill. Sessions is good for the US on immigration. He is agains the mandarins and masters of the universe (says so from time to time on the Senate floor), and if he credits Cruz, that’s good enough for me.’
Right. And Sessions is judicious. Interesting to add ...
